Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Inspiration Post - Monday 1 May 2023

Sadly we have ended the Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Facebook Monthly Challenge due to lack of entrants.

Instead the Design Team members will be posting three cards/projects each month on the Facebook Group for inspiration on what you could make with Ching-Chou Kuik's amazing images.

Here is one of my inspiration posts.

This month I have started off with another page in my journal using the Ching-Chou Kuik image called "Deer in Woods".  You will receive one image with a full background with the trees and one without the trees.  I have used the image with the trees.

I have coloured my image in with my Sentimentally Yours alcohol pens, torn around the image and then inked around the edge with Tim Holtz's Gathered Twigs distress ink.

For the background I have inked on some watercolour card with some Tim Holtz Mustard Seed and Crushed Olive distress ink.  I have then used various stamps to add some depth and to frame the image and also added a sentiment.

I have finished the page off with a Sentimentally Yours banner stamped with some pine cones, flower and some die-cut leaves.

Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Inspiration Post - Monday 6 February 2023

The Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Facebook Group challenge for February 2023 is "ALWAYS ANYTHING GOES".

Here is my inspiration post.
For my shaped card I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik image called "Fly High".

I have coloured my image in with Promarkers.

I received a shaped card for my birthday two years ago and said I would make one myself and so I have 2 years later!!  It took me a while to work out the idea for the card but I got there in the end.

The papers I have used are from The Works.

I have finished the card off with die-cut feathers, bought flowers, Sentimentally Yours banners and a stamped sentiment.

August 2022 Birthday/Anniversary Hanger

Sadly health/life issues have forced me to stop running and being part of the Ching-Chou Kuik Design Teams until the end of the year.  It was not a decision made lightly but at the moment I am not up to crafting very much at all with everything going on.

I did though manage to finish my August birthday/Anniversary hanger and have used the Ching-Chou Kuik image called "Autumn Harvest".  I have coloured the image in with Promarkers.

For the actual hanger I painted with a purple acrylic paint and then once dry I used a silver acrylic paint along with the scourer side of a sponge/scourer and stippled on the grey paint.

I found some scraps of purple card and used a Sentimentally Yours banner die to cut them out.

The hanger has been finished off with a 2-layer flower, ribbon and the computer generated sentiment.

Happy Birthday Just For You

Here is a card that I have made with a Debbi Moore Summer Moments CD.  I'd have love to have been around during those times to wear something like this - very glamourous!!

For my card I have used a decoupage sheet, backing papers and sentiments from the sheet.

I have finished the card off with some ribbon, lace, Sentimentally Yours pearls and some Prima flowers.

For my pillow box I simply printed off from the CD and stuck together.I am entering this card and pillow box into the following challenges:

Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Inspiration Post - Monday 9 May 2022

Today is the day for me to show you another creation for the Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Facebook Group.

Our challenge this month is:

"ANYTHING GOES".

This week the Design Team were challenged to the topic "3 or more layers".

Here is my inspiration post with that theme.
For my card today I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik image called "Poppy Fairy".

I have coloured my image in with Tim Holtz's Spun Sugar and Broken China distress ink.

The backing papers must for been bought 8-9 years ago by my sons.  They are so nice I didn't want to use but what is the use of them just sitting on my shelf?  I have used my Tim Holtz distress guillotine around the edge of all of the papers and the toppers.

The card has been finished off with some wide blue ribbon, wide lace, three flowers, sentiment and some Sentimentally Yours pearls (which are more than yummy!!).

You Anchor Me ⚓

Here is a grungy/distressed card I have made.  The image I have used is by Ching-Chou Kuik and called "Bon Voyage My Love".  I have coloured my image in with Promarkers and highlighted areas with a white gel pen.

The backing papers are from my Joy! Crafts Under the Sea Paper pad.  Two of the papers I have just ripped around the edges for a more distressed feel.  On one of the backing papers I used Tim Holtz's Squeezed Lemonade distress ink through a mylar stencil I made with some die-cut shells out of it and went around the edge for some faded out shell shapes.

For embellishments I have used a netting die from Crafter's Companion and various stamped out shells/rocks and compass from Sentimentally Yours, a stamped sentiment and some pearls.

Here is my inspiration post with that theme.
For my bright and cheery birthday card I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik image called "Beloved Sunshine".

I have coloured the image in with Promarkers, used chalks for the sky and add white gel pen to highlight the centre of the sunflowers.

The backing papers are all scraps from my "scraps folder".  I have also used some white card that I have put through an embossing folder for some texture.

I have finished the card off with a stamped sunflower with a glitter centre, die-cut swirl, die-cut sentiment and some Sentimentally Yours gorgeous pearls.

Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Inspiration Post - Monday 7 March 2022

Today is the day for me to show you another creation for the Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Facebook Group.

Our challenge this month is:

"SPRING or EASTER or FLORAL".

Here is my inspiration post with that theme.
Back in January 2022 I started a hanger holder to sit by my computer to show me the cards I need to make for that month for birthdays/anniversaries/weddings etc (please see here for January's and February's tags).

This month sees my hanger for March.  I did an initial layer of gesso and then used paper to cover the front and the back of the tag.  It was such a fiddly business but I got there in the end.  I have used scraps from my "scraps folder" so that was good and I also used two pieces of scrap for the border across the tag.

As for the image I have used for this month's tag I have used Ching-Chou Kuik's image called "Little Daisy". 

I have coloured the image in with Promarkers and inked around the edge with my brush and Tim Holtz's Gathered Twigs distress ink.

I have finished the tag off with some organza ribbon, stamped sentiment, flower with a brad centre and some rather yummy Sentimentally Yours pearls that I got for Christmas.

Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Inspiration Post - Monday 10 January 2022

Today is the day for me to show you another creation for the Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Facebook Group.

Our challenge this month is:

"SOMETHING NEW eg NEW YEAR or NEW HOME or NEW JOB or NEW CRAFTY ITEMS TO USE".

This week the Design Team were challenged to "MAKE IT SPARKLE eg gems, sequins, glitter, mica, sparkle glitter drops etc".

Here is my inspiration post with that theme.

Recently on the television I saw a Tando Creative show on The Craft Store with a MDF hanger and stand.  I thought this would be perfect to use for keep an eye on birthday/other cards needed throughout the year.  In the set you get the MDF box, 12 hanging tags and 12 loop hanging tags and finally the bolt.  As you can see below I have not been well enough to finish the box but will do as soon as I can.

For my first tag for January I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik image called "Iris Mermaid - Greyscale".

I have coloured the image in with Promarkers, add Sakura Stardust clear sparkle pen to her tail as a mermaid needs a sparkly tail doesn't she and finally I edged the image with Tim Holtz's Peacock Feathers distress ink.

I painted the tag both sides  with white gesso and then a turquoise blue acrylic paint.  I then stamped the background with some Trudie Howard Sentimentally Yours fish stamps with some pearlescent Brilliance ink pads in blue and black.  I have had these since I first started crafting and they are still juicy and sparkly.  I used my Tim Holtz stamping platform and inked the images twice to get a good silhouette.  I finished the background off with some dotty stamps to look like bubbles.

I then used a font on the computer to generate the "JANUARY", added an "ahoy" die-cut and finally a die-cut seagull.

Here is where the hanger will eventually hang so I can keep an eye on cards that I need to make throughout the year.

We are super excited as it is the 7th anniversary of the Ching-Chou Kuik Inspiration and Challenge Blog and the Facebook Challenge.  With lots of companies coming and going it is a wonderful achievement.  We have though AMAZING images to use from the so very talented Ching-Chou Kuik.  You need to pop on over to the Challenge Blog to see what is happening.

For my card today I decided to go with the Halloween colour scheme of black, orange, purple and green - well in the picture it looks like blue with it started off as jade green!!

For my card I have used the image you get free if you enter the Facebook Challenge called "The Cutie".

I have coloured my image in with Promarkers and used Pan Pastels for the background.

The backing papers are from The Works.

I have used a wooden MDF sentiment in the shape of the work "happy".  I have too coloured this with Promarkers.

I have finished the card off with black/purple/green Nuvo drops, crepe die-cut flower with a brad centre and Phill Martin Sentimentally Yours stamped sentiments.

This week the Design Team were challenged to "USE SOME BUTTONS".

Here is my inspiration post with that theme. 
For this card I am giving you a sneaky peak of an image coming to the Ching-Chou Etsy Store in October.  It is called "One Lasting Moment".

I have coloured my image in with Promarkers and tried to give a dreamy effect for the image.  I have inked around the edge with Tim Holtz's Squeezed Lemonade and Mustard Seed distress inks.

The backing papers are from my stash but did not fit in with my yellow/orange colour scheme so two of the butterfly papers I have coloured with Tim Holtz's Spiced Marmalade distress ink and the other I coloured with Tim Holtz Mustard Seed distress ink.

I have finished the card off with some satin ribbon, lace, Phill Martin Sentimentally Yours banner sentiments and of course some buttons.

Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Inspiration Post - Monday 6 September 2021

Today is the day for me to show you another creation for the Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Facebook Group.

Our challenge this month is:

"THINK PINK FOR BREAST CANCER".

Here is my inspiration post with that theme. 
For my card I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik image called "Black Rose".  I decided to go with a pink and grey colour scheme for a change.

I have coloured my image in with Promarkers.  I have used various texture stamps and Tim Holtz's Spun Sugar, Victorian Velvet and Picked Raspberry distress inks to edge the image.

The backing papers are scraps from my stash.

I have cut all the layers of paper and the image with my Tim Holtz distress cutter which I got for Christmas.  I love a distressed/deckled edge and I would use some distress scissors I have got and papers/images would get smaller and smaller as nothing looked reasonably straight.  With the trimmer I don't have that problem.  I LOVE IT!!

I have finished the card off with some die-cut flowers, grey pearls, pink lace, pink ribbon, Phill Martin Sentimentally Yours banner sentiments and some The Works 3D pearl paint (I expected these to stay three dimensional in little mounds but they went flat.  They now remind me of Papermania Glitterations I used to buy but a cheaper alternative).

Colour Crazy Challenge Blog - Friday 3 September 2021

It is time for another challenge over at the Colour Crazy Challenge Blog.

The weekly topic is always "anything goes".

This week we are lucky to be sponsored by "Star Jam Lines".

For my fun, bright and cheery card I have used the Star Jam Lines image called "Gnome with cake".  When you purchase this image you get the gnome facing either way and the cake on its own.

I have coloured my image in with Promarkers and used chalks for the background.

The backing papers are scraps I have kept of this bright and cheery paper.

I have finished the card off with some ribbon, sequins and a Phill Martin Sentimentally Yours banner stamped sentiments.

Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Inspiration Post - Monday 16 August 2021

Today is the day for me to show you another creation for the Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Facebook Group.
Our challenge this month is:

"THANKSGIVING or AUTUMN or FALL or AUTUMN COLOURS eg RED, BROWN, ORANGE AND GREEN".

Here is my inspiration post with that theme. 

For my last card for this month I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik image called "Above the Dirt".

I have coloured my image in with Promarkers, highlighted areas with my Posca white pen and inked around the edge with Tim Holtz's Tumbled Glass and Vintage Photo distress ink.

The backing papers are again from my 6x6 pile.  I have cut all the layers out with my Tim Holtz deckle edged trimmer which I got last Christmas from a friend which I love.  I have gone around all the edges with Tim Holtz's Vintage Photo distress ink along with the two circles I die-cut and then embossed with a leaf stencil which was a freebie in the Simply Cards and Papercraft Magazine Issue No #217 and by Chloe's Creative Cards. 

I have finished the card off by cutting out some leaves out of brown and green card and using Vintago Photo distress ink around the edges ( a little bit fiddly with the very small leaves even with tweezers!!) and two Phill Martin Sentimentally Yours stamped sentiments.
