Commissioned 18th Birthday Card

A customer wanted an 18th birthday card for a colleague where she works so I used a Dottie's World Digital Download found at Charmed Cards and Craft of Girls About Town and used the shoe shop background and one of the girls I situated just outside the shop. I have imported some sentiments and another image into Word and made the insert.

The Fresh Batch Weekly Sketch Challenge 25/6/09

I was asked by one of my customers to make a card for her for a friend at work whose birthday is shortly. She wanted teddies/cute so I thought this little cutie from a Michelle Marsden CD fitted the bill perfectly. I have used the sketch this week over at the The Fresh Batch Weekly Sketch Challenge to arrange the card. I copied the largest image and inserted it into the insert for the inside of the card as well.

Regular Monthly Card Stall

Yes, time was up yesterday for my regular stall to be set up for charity. It's amazing how quickly the month rolls by for the next one. This time I am raising funds for the CFS/ME Association to help to try and work out why people like me get this illness/disability and whether they can work out a cure/way forward.

Daring Cardmakers Challenge 24/6/09, Simon Says Challenge 24/6/09 and Craftroom Creations Blog Candy

I recently had my stall and raised funds for Post Pals so I have now looked through the children - it does bring tears to your eyes - and decided on who to send a card to. I have also decided to send a card to the little boy's brother as well as he's got an extra special job of being there for his brother.

For the card for the little boy on Post pals I have used my Joanna Sheen Messy Rabbit CD as he likes various things including diggers. For his brother I have used my new Card Kits for Men CD from Crafty Computer Paper.

Over at the Daring Cardmakers Challenge this week the topic is Make a Child Smile and to make a card to send to someone on Post Pals and over at the Simon Says Challenge this week the topic is Happy Mail and to send a card to someone on Post Pals or Make a Child Smile.

Ann over at Craftroom Creations has some lovely blog candy up for grabs and the extra twist is to send a card off to someone on Post Pals.

Moving Along with the Times Challenge Blog 25/6/09 and Charisma Cardz Challenge Blog 25/6/09

Well today is the day for the launch of a new challenge blog, Moving Along with the Times. The challenge this week is a sketch as well as the colour combination of red, cream and chocolate to celebrate Wimbledon which is on at the moment ie strawberries and cream with a hint of chocolate. I have used Summer Driggs backing papers, the flowers are created by Sharon Duncan and the decoupage is some that I was given to use for my charity work.

I am also entering this card for the challenge this week on Charisma Cardz as they have an open theme.

Rainbow Lady's Challenge Blog - 25/6/09

Over at the Rainbow Lady's Challenge Blog the topic this week is sunflowers. Oh I so love sunflowers. They always make you feel cheerful. We've got some growing in our garden at the moment courtesy of my husband. I have used my Messy Rabbit CD for this card as I spied the sunflowers when I looked through the CD when I bought it and thought that this would be a nice cheery Get Well card so that's what I've made it into and added the matching insert which has lots and lots of sunflowers on it. It's finished off with a sentiment off the computer and a mini sunflower from Joanna Sheen's website.

The Pink Elephant Challenge Blog 22/6/09

Over at The Pink Elephant Challenge Blog there is a lovely sketch this week. I have used a Summer Driggs paper, some pink holographic card (which caused a nightmare with the camera even with the flash turned off), a Flora Doddles stamped image coloured in with Lyra Watercolours and Sakura pens and finished off with a sentiment. When I make these 14cm x 14cm cards I have a bit of backing paper left over from the A5 size so I have started to use it up on the inside more and more instead of it lying in a tray to be used/some having to be thrown away as it gets battered in the tray.

Friday Sketchers Challenge Blog 19/6/09

Over at the Friday Sketchers Challenge Blog there is yet another lovely sketch again this week. I have used some Summer Driggs paper and some plain pearlescent paper from my stash. The little owl was a freebie with the Craft Stamper magazine which I treated myself to this month. I know I vowed after my first go at masking I would never do again but I thought I'd have a go and this time stamped the images in the right order!!! The owls have been coloured in with watercolour pencils and Sakura pens. I have typed the sentiment on the computer and added some die-cut flowers.

Cute Daisy May Challenge 22/6/09

Over at the Cute Daisy May Challenge Blog this week the challenge is animals. I know you can use any image but I do like their fluffy dog images so I had to pick one of these. As I picked bathing the dog before I chose the Daisy May playing with her gorgeous cuddly dog. The backing paper is from Summer Driggs and I have done the edges with a brown and a grey perfect pearl mixed with water and dabbed on with a scrunched up piece of plastic. I then stamped paws around the edge with Versamark and used a Debbie Moore brown embossing powder.

Daisy May Challenge 15/6/09 and Cute Card Thursday 17/6/09

No I haven't made all these cards today - just taken photos of most of them - and not good ones at that!!!!

This card was made with some Summer Driggs paper, one of which was embossed in gold using various U-mount swirl stamps and gold embossing powder. The centre tag has been made with round scalloped Nestabilities and in the centre is a Cute Daisy May image which has been coloured in with Watercolour Pencils.

This card fits the criteria for two challenges:

Cute Card Thursday - include a tag on your card

Cute Daisy May Challenge - circles, circles, circles

Just Magnolia Challenge 19/6/09 and Stamp With Fun Challenge 15/6/09

This card fits the bill for two challenges:

I've only recently been involved with this challenge but I already love the Penny Black characters I've got and want more!!! Click here to go and have a look at the challenge.

I made some cake cards earlier in the week and had some papers embellishments left so decided to make another as what's a birthday without a cake? I did decorate the inside of the card but couldn't take a photo as my camera battery has died. I have coloured my hedgehog in with watercolour pencils.

Friday Sketchers Challenge Blog 12/6/09

Over at the Friday Sketchers Challenge Blog they have a nice sketch this week. I hope it's OK but as I don't have an oval die (and I certainly can't cut one out - or one that would resemble an oval) I have used a curved rectangle nestabilities die. The image is from Penny Black and coloured in with Lyra Watercolours and Inkintense Pencils. The embossed piece has been embossed with an impressibilities die, sanded down with a nail file as I used Coredinations cardstock and then I've dabbed Perfect Pearls mixed with water onto it with a scrunched up plastic bag as per Sheena Douglass' idea I saw recently on Ideal World.
