An Elephant Never Forgets ..............

I make my cards to sell to raise funds for different charities.  I am truly blessed that over the years of me doing this very kind crafters on blogs and on Facebook have sent me things to use.  I also put anything I win in challenges to good use for my cards for charity.  There are also blogs/people on Facebook that offer freebies and these mean so much to me as I can use these as well.  Recently Debbi Moore had this gorgeous little elephant as a freebie on her Facebook page and I thought I'd show you what I made with it.

The freebie design sheet came with a gorgeous backing papers which I used as well.  On Debbi Moore's design sheets what I like is that she doesn't waste any leftover space once you have the main images.  Instead you may find things like borders, sentiments and embellishments eg flowers, shapes, buttons etc.  This sheet came with the main image of the elephant along with the cut little head shot of the elephant, border, sentiments and heart shape.

Looking at the image I simply added a cream card blank and matting and layering was done with kraft card.

Apart from the elements off the design sheet the card has been finished off with a large organza ribbon bow and button.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Through the Craft Room Door - Anything goes
Artistic Inspirations - Anything goes
Papertake Weekly - Build it up
Inspiration Destination - Anything goes
Word Art Wednesday - Anything goes
Crafty Ribbons - Anything goes
Aud Sentiments Challenge - Anything goes
Brown Sugar Challenge - Anything goes
Sister Act Card Challenge - Anything goes
613 Avenue Create - Anything goes with the option of shabby chic
Glitter n Sparkle - Use something that starts with B (button)

Sweet Pea Stamps Progressive Challenge Part 2

It is time for the Sweet Pea Stamps Progressive Challenge Part 2.  If you entered Part 1 of the challenge you will have got this Sweet Pea Stamps image by Sandra Caldwell called "Queen of Wonder".  If you didn't take part in Part 1 of the challenge you can always go to Sweet Pea Stamps and purchase this image to take part.
I have to admit I struggled with what to make for this image but in the end I came up with a journal page.  I have coloured the image in with my Graph'it pens.
The backing papers and card embellishments I saved from somewhere over the years on my computer and it was before I used to do separate folders for each company so I apologise for not mentioning where these papers are from.

Bravely I wrote the sentiment out and edged with wiggly black lines and edged with a red Graph'it pen and then cut out.

I simply finished off this journal page with the cut out playing cards and some peel-off hearts as I need to keep the page quite flat in my journal book.

I am entering this journal page into the following challenges:

Inspiration Destination - Anything goes
Penny's Paper Challenge - Anything goes
Create and Inspire - Anything goes
Creative Inspirations - Let's colour
Aud Sentiments - Anything goes

Ching-Chou Kuik's Digital Stamps Monthly Challenge Blog - Kym's Inspiration Post - Monday 20 July 2015

It is Monday and therefore time for me to show you my Inspiration Post for the Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Monthly Challenge Blog.

Before I do I'd like to remind you that our challenge this month is "sparkle and shine".  It would be lovely if you could take part.
This week the Design Team were given the choice of using an image from the section "mermaid/ocean" in the Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Etsy Store.  I decided to use this stunning image called "Far Away Messages".  I have coloured the image in with my Promarkers and kept the colour scheme to pastel colours.

I have used two different patterned Crafty Individuals seaside backing papers that I have had for some time but like them so much I didn't want to use them.  I need therapy now that I've used two papers for the front and two for the inside!!!  The sentiments I have used are from my Joy! Crafts "Under the Sea" stamp set along with the shells which I have stamped, coloured with my Promarkers and cut round to add to my card.

The card has been kept quite simple and just finished off a pearl and an organza and satin ribbon bow.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Through the Craft Room Door - Anything goes
Inspiration Destination - Anything goes
Penny's Paper Challenge - Anything goes
Create and Inspire - Anything goes

They are offering the very lucky winner 7 digital images of their choice from the Bugaboo Digi Stamps Store.
When I saw the topic of this challenge I knew exactly what image I wanted to use from the Joanna Sheen Gruffies and Happy Hoppers CD.

I have used this cute little bunny chilling out in the bath along with lots and lots of bubbles.  For my card I have used the design sheet which had various sized toppers on it along with the sentiments and some bubbles backing paper.

I used a distressed circle stamp and my Tim Holtz Tumbled Glass, Faded Jeans and Broken China distress inks and stamped "bubbles" all over some white seam binding.
