Card made for stall

Well, back to work for me tomorrow so I thought I'd make a few cards today. I made a challenge card and had a piece of the backing paper left so I thought I'd make up a card with it to save it getting bashed in a box.

Paper: Crafter's Companion Flower Fairies CD - Zinnia
Decoupage: Lili of the Valley Primrose Fairy
Embellishments: Various blossoms courtesy of Jak Heath and a sentiment off the computer.

Sketch Saturday Challenge - 28/3/09

Over at the Sketch Saturday there is a sketch that I thought I could have a go at as I've had a week off and due back to work tomorrow.

Paper: Crafter's Companion Flower Fairies CD - Zinnia
Topper: Crafter's Companion Flower Fairies CD - Zinnia
Embellishments: Paper ribbon from Funky Hands Funky Daze CD, peel-off sentiment and various little flower peel-offs.

Colour Create Challenge Blog - Lilac and Purple - 29/3/09

Over at the Colour Create Challenge Blog the topic this week is lilac and blue. An optional twist is to use some ribbon and some swirls. Ribbon was OK as I seem to have loads but I still haven't managed to get a swirl stamp so out came a trusty Sakura Stardust pen and my hands and hey presto some swirls.

Paper: Crafter's Companion Flower Fairies CD - Zinnia and some blue holographic card
Topper: Crafter's Companion Flower Fairies CD - Zinnia
Embellishments: Peel-off sentiment and small butterfly coloured in the top half with blue Dufex pen and the bottom half with lilac Dufex pen, some ribbon and fibres from my stash

Over at the Sketch and Stash Challenge Blog there is a lovely sketch this fortnight. I have used my new Daisy and Dandelion stamps that I've had for a month now and not used (shame on me I know!!!) and some new crystal lacquer so Dandelion is all shiny.

Over at the Daisy and Dandelion Challenge Blog this week the topic is friends so I have made this card for a special friend.

Stamps: Dandelion stamp from the set of Daisy and Dandelion coloured in with Lyra Watercolours and given a shiny coating with crystal lacquer
Embellishments: flower sequins, sentiment and flower blossom courtesy of Jak Heath.

Well, this is another record for me ie a 3-in-1 Challenge card.

Over at the Penny Black Challenge, challenge 42 is for Spring. I've chosen a spring/summer like image and spring-like colours.

Over at the Secret Crafter Challenge, challenge #25 is for stitching and on this card I have done some faux stitching on the card.

Over at the Created by Hands Challenge, this weeks' challenge is to include flowers.

Please excuse the state of the photo but my camera didn't like the glitzy card or gems!!!

Paper: Funky Hands Funky Daze CD and some pink holographic glitzy card
Stamps: Penny Black Hedgehog
Embellishments: Some pink grosgrain ribbon and some shiny gems.

Word Book for my Mum's Birthday

It is my Mum's birthday tomorrow so I have made her a word book as she liked the one I made as a commission for a friend at her workplace. I imported the Word Book from Funky Hands Funky Daze CD into My Craft Studio and changed the colour to green as it is my Mum's favourite colour- despite what it looks like in the photo, the green is all the same range of green, just my bad photography!!! The decoupaged images are from Joanna Sheen's Cottage Garden CD and also Joanna Sheen's decoupage sheets. The Word book is finished off with some fibres, ribbon, fabric flowers and an image of a cottage stamped onto shrink plastic and shrunk down.

This fits the bill over at the Cute Card Thursday Challenge Blog as the topic this week is Family Affair.

Monthly Charity Stall

Well the month seems to have come around quickly again and it was time to set up the charity stall for this month. I went in my wardrobe to look for Easter cards from last year but then remembered my son had taken them to a Chiropractors where they have a small selection of my cards. Thankfully I'd printed off some images a few weeks ago and had some papers printed out as well so I spent an hour this morning, as I was off on leave from work, making a few Easter cards. Joanna Sheen's Messy Rabbit CD, Daisy and Dandelion stamp of Candyfloss and Joanna Sheen's Heavenly Cards CD came to my rescue.

This time I am raising money for the Leukemia Research Fund.

ABC Challenge - G is for Glitter - 25-3-09 and Cupcake Craft Challenge 32 - Monsters - 23/3/09

Over at the ABC Challenge this week the topic is G is for Glitter. As many bloggers know I don't do getting messy so I try to avoid using glitter but I do occasionally use Stickles and also Sakura Stardust pens to give a bit of glitter like I have done on this card. I have coloured in the image, torn an edge around it and edges with a chalk ink pad.
Over at the Cupcake Craft Challenge, challenge 32 is for monsters so I am hoping that this scary or not-so-scary looking dragon will fit the bill.

Paper: Funky Hands Funky Daze CD
Stamps: Not sure what make of stamp this gorgeous dragon is. He's been coloured in with Lyra Watercolours, Sakura Stardust pens and also some Stickles.
Embellishments: Computer generated sentiment and some green fibres to match the green dragon.

Rainbow Lady's Challenge Blog - Challenge 53 - Balloons - 26-3-09

Over at the Rainbow Lady's Challenge Blog this week the topic is Balloons. I thought I'd have a go at this challenge and give a new stamp an outing. I have also done a bit of doodling on the card - must get with the trend if this is going to be the "in" thing this year!!!

Paper: Funky Hands Funky Daze CD
Stamps: Smirk stamp of little girl with dog coloured in with Sakura pens
Embellishments: Sentiment typed on the computer, two of my beloved gems and a lovely frilly flower courtesy of
Jak Heath's blog.

Thank God It's Friday (TGIF) Challenge No 77 - Keep Smiling - 19-3-09

Over at the Thank God Its Friday Challenge Blog this week the topic is Keep Smiling. I've only just seen this one in time before the deadline but thought I'd have a go.

Papers: Funky Hands Funky Daze CD
Stamp: Smirk stamp of girl with a dog coloured in with Sakura pens
Embellishments: Sentiment typed on the computer, 4 of my beloved gems and a ribbon bow courtesy of Jak Heath's blog.

Penny Black Challenge Week 41, 21/3/09 and Creative Card Crew Challenge 3, 24-3-09

At the Creative Card Crew Challenge 3 the topic is Warm Colours so I printed out some warm colours from my Funky Hands Funky Daze CD. Over at the Penny Black Challenge this week the topic is doodling. I um'd and ah'd about doing this challenge as I'm not that good at doodling but I think "practice makes perfect" so I had a go. The Penny Black image has been coloured in with Lyra Watercolours, Sakura pens and finished off with touches of Crystal Lacquers. I have done faux stitching, a figure of eight doodle I used to doodle in my school books and some doodled flowers in one corner. The card is finished off with some gems and some fabric flowers (one flower was white with a tinge of purple so I used a Rocket Red Gold Brilliance Dew Drop Ink Pad to colour it) and a brad.

Card for Friend at Work

It is a friend's birthday on Saturday so as I'm off work on Friday I am having to take her card/presents in tomorrow. She's mad about cats and has about 8 of them or maybe more so I used various CDs and a stamp to make this word book. I took the pages for CATS from the Funky Hands Funky Daze CD and took them into My Craft Studio and changed the colour to purple - my favourite colour - but it also toned in well with the colours of all the cats. I got the cat images from the Joanna Sheen Jayne Netley Mayhew CD and the Joanna Sheen Pamela West CD. I also used a stamp of a cat I'd got as well and combined it with some text I typed on the computer, a verse, some fibres/ribbon and hey presto the cats word book is made. Just hope she likes it. She's already told me she's cleared a space on top of the fireplace ready for it coming!!!

Commissioned Birthday Card

My hairdresser also wanted a special card for a special friend. This time I used my new Crafter's Companion Flower Fairies CD but then had trouble trying to pick which one to use. I do like Buttercup but in the end I chose Zinnia. I have used some gold mirror card, printed off the flower fairy backing paper onto pearlescent paper and then decoupaged the large Zinnia fairy to go on the front of the card along with a sentiment and some red organza ribbon. Inside is an insert with one of the verses on their CDs. I normally try to use the notepaper as I don't like a plain white side on the left hand side but couldn't get it to work out so I printed off the insert, cut it down to fit one side and matted it up. On the other side I printed off another topped sheet of Zinnia and decoupaged her up one layer. I hope it's OK.

Commissioned Birthday Card

My hairdresser asked me to make a card for her Nan's Birthday. For this card I have used Joanna Sheen's Cottage Garden CD and chose I nice oldey-worldey picture of a family sat around the table for dinner and decoupaged it up three layers. I have used the backing paper with the gorgeous daffodils down the side that matched the topper sheet, added a tassel, a sentiment typed on the computer, the gorgeous insert that matched and some fibres.

Birthday Card for a Friend

I have made this birthday card for a friend who loves to go to bingo by using one of the Flippin' Women decoupage sheets of the bingo lady. She has been mounted on one of the La Pashe aperture cards and the acetate has been used. To colour the colour I have used bingo dabbers, number stickers and also some BINGO words with balls from Printable Heaven. For the back-drop of the card I have also used the bingo backing paper from Printable Heaven and used some of the money and BINGO word embellishments. I have kept the embellishments to the edges so that only the backing paper shows through the aperture.

Rainbow Lady's Challenge Blog - Challenge 52 - Birthday

Over at Rainbow Lady's Challenge Blog congratulations is in order as this is week 52. What an achievement for a challenge blog. I don't post entries as often as I would like but I do seeing all the creations. Well, this week is BIRTHDAY so I have done a boys' card. All the football items are from the Crafter's Companion Boys' CD and I have used a brown card and green paper I printed off from the Funky Hands Funky Daze CD to set these items off. It's all finished off with a sentiment from the computer.

Creative Card Crew Challenge 2 - 17-3-09

Over at the Creative Card Crew Challenge Blog the challenge this week is not to use any patterned papers. Sounds quite easy at first but then you have to put your thinking cap on a bit more. I used some dark brown card for the first layer, the second layer has dog bones stamped with Versamark and then clear embossing powder and then heated up, the dog kennel, dog, bowl and bone is from the Crafter's Companion Boys' CD. It is finished off with a Kanban sentiment but as the text is very light green, no matter how I try, it won't come out in a photo.

Theme Thursday 18-3-09, My Time to Craft Challenge 17-3-09 and ABC Challenge 18-3-09

Over at the My Time to Craft Challenge Blog this week Challenge 53 is NATURE. Ove at the ABC Challenge Blog the theme is F for FLOWERS. Over at the Theme Thursday Challenge Blog the theme this week is ORANGE. Yikes!!! I don't do orange very much just like green but I have had a go. I have used Funky Hands Funky Daze CD for the three different backing papers used, a piece of sticky backed ribbon which I was given, some decoupage of a flower (I'm not good at names of flowers) which has an orange/yellow tinge to it, a sentiment typed on the computer edged with an orange Dufex pen and two crystal-style gems which were also made orange with Dufex pens.

Crafts 4 Eternity Challenge Blog - Challenge # 23 - 15-3-09 and Creative Inspirations Challenge 4 - 9/3/09

Over at the Crafts 4 Eternity Challenge Blog there is a sketch this week with a twist ie that it has to be a Mother's Day card.
This card also fits the bill over at the Creative Inspirations Challenge Blog as Challenge No 4 is for a Mother's Day card with flowers on it. I've only recently come across this challenge blog but hope to be back to visit/play very soon. I like the fact the challenge is set every two weeks as I sometimes struggle with the challenges set every week.

Backing papers: Funky Hands Funky Daze CD and plain white and green cardstock
Embellishments: Sentiment typed on the computer and some blue organza ribbon
Topper: Crafter's Companion Flower Fairies CD (Rose Fairy)

Another boo boo card

As per my previous post, this is my boo boo card. I had started to follow the Dottie's World Challenge but instead of using a Charmed Cards and Craft image I stamped out a Papernation/Jollynation little girl with her windmill. The image is coloured in with Lyra Watercolours and I have done some paper piecing as I stamped her dressed onto coloured paper, cut out and decoupage on. It was just as I was adding my flower and sentiment I realised I hadn't used a Charmed Cards and Craft image so I popped one wooden flower on and moved the sentiment to the top. The card will not be wasted though as it will go in my stash for my regular stall. I hope I don't do too many more boo boo's!!!

Dottie's World Sunday Challenge - Sketch - 15-3-09

Well, in less than a week I've done another boo boo card ie I get it all planned out and virtually finished and then I realise I have done something wrong. This time I had it all clearly written down so I don't know what to do in the future to avoid this!!

Here is the correct card:

Backing paper: Crafter's Companion but can't remember which now
Digitial Download: Dottie from Charmed Cards and Craft and coloured in with Lyra Watercolours and edged in blue to give a shadow effect
Embellishments: Three crystal-style gems, sentiment printed out on the computer, heart punched out of the same backing paper and two red blossoms designed by Jak Heath and to add an extra dimension I have stamped randomly with Joanna Sheen's Poppy Stamp.

Wedding card

A friend who plays badminton with my husband recently got married in Hong Kong but are due to have their second "do" here in the UK in London on Sunday. Unfortunately, as it's Mother's Day we've had to say "no" to going but I have made them a card. I've been dreading making it all week as they sent a copy of their Hong Kong and London invites and they are so posh. It's made me so nervous but I have eventually done it.

The card base is a piece of Tapestry card from Joanna Sheen's website. I've had it for some months but felt it was too nice to use but I thought this card justified the use of some. The image is from Joanna Sheen's Victorian Romance CD and I have decoupaged it up by copying and pasting the image into Word and printing the size out four times for a decent height. I've toned the image with some different backing papers, a sentiment typed on the computer, an organza ribbon and a ribbon/bow/bead embellishment. Inside there is a verse on the first sheet, on the second sheet the "I love you truly" extract has been saved and imported into My Craft Studio to make a backing paper and this was printed on pearlescent paper and the final backing sheet is vellum whereby I have embossed all four corners with the Craftroom Workstation.

I just hope they like it!!

Card for Various Challenges

This card fits the bill for a number of challenges this week as follows:
The Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge this week the goal is to make a card using gems (not a difficult one for me as thanks to Dawn Bibby/QVC I have the incurable problem of "adhesive stonesitis" as I love putting a little sparkle on things)
The Cute Daisy May Challenge this week you have to make a card with some buttons on this.
Ooh-la-la-Creations you have to make a card using buttons and brads or either
The Pink Elephant Challenge has to have buttons in your creation.
This card has been made using the following:

Backing Papers: from a friend
Buttons: from my stash
Gems: from Poundland
Stamp: Pickles from the Daisy and Dandelion Stamp Sets
Colouring Medium: Lyra Watercolours and some pink Crystal Lacquer.

2 Sketches 4 You Challenge Sketch 22 - 16/3/09

Over at the 2 Sketches 4 You Challenge Blog this week they have a sketch as the challenge. I thought I would have a go. The backing paper is from one of Crafter's Companion CD but I can't for the life of me remember which one. The topper is from the new Crafter's Companion Flower Fairies CD.

Papertake Weekly Challenge - 16/3/09 and Secret Crafter Challenge #23 - 14/3/09

I saw the topic on the Papertake Weekly Challenge was something edible and thought this card would suit this topic. It is made with one of the Flippin' Women decoupage sheets, La Pashe acetate and die-cut card and envelope. I have stamped the two die-cut sides with a little fairy stamp that came from the Cute Companions Wonderful News Stamp Set and have coloured them in with Sakura pens. The backing paper, to provide a back-drop for the Flippin' design and also for the back of the card was on the Joanna Sheen Messy Rabbit CD. It is all finished with a sentiment from the sheet of decoupage, two Papermania flowers, a brad and some fibres.
This card also fits the topic of the Secret Crafter Challenge Blog - Have Your Cake and Eat It!!!

Cuttlebug Challenge # 22 - Sketch - 16/3/09

Over at the The Cuttlebug Spot Challenge this week they have a sketch as their challenge. I should be finishing a commissioned card but my mind isn't in it as we've found out today someone has fraudulently been using our credit card over the last week so I thought to get my Cuttlebug embossing folders out was in order. I also got to use my new one - Swiss Dots - which I now love.

The card is made with some paisley backing paper I was given, some silver mirri card strips and some dark blue strips, all of which to match the paper. I have added a Papermania paisley brad, a sentiment typed on the computer, one of Jak Heath's lovely blossom downloads and some faux stitching. I hope this fits the bill for this challenge.

Gothic Arches Challenge - Mother and Child - 15/3/09

Over at the Gothic Arches Challenge this week the topic is Mother and Child. I have been too busy/feeling a bit rough lately so I haven't been able to take part in many challenges. I have thought decided to take part in this weeks' challenge. The mother, father and baby image is a digital downland from Charmed Cards and Craft. The arch has been cut out from a piece of paper from Joanna Sheen's Messy Rabbit CD and I have used my cut-n-dry foam to age all around the edge of the arch with a pink and two different colour blacks. The flower is from a download from the lovely Jak Heath and I have aged these as well with the cut-n-dry foam and the pink and two black inks. A bit time consuming but I do like the effect. Hope it fits the bill for the Gothic Arches Challenge for this week.
