On 29 September I went to the Colemans Warehouse in Rushden as Nancy from Ideal World/Joanna Sheen Forum was demonstrating, to possibly meet other crafters from Forums and also to look for pressies for my birthday. Unfortunately, just after we left our driveway we were involved in a RTA so when I arrived at Colemans I started feeling crook so didn't stay as long as I would have liked. I really enjoyed meeting Nancy and her daughter Mia and also some Sheenies and a Scissor Sister member.

Commissioned Card - Daughter who likes Jack Russells
I was asked by a lady who is one of my main customers to make a card for her daughter's birthday in November. I decided to do it extra special and made it into an A4 card and also printed the image on the front onto canvas paper and didn't put a Happy Birthday quote on the front so that her daughter could put the card in a frame.
The Mum absolutely LOVED the card and knows her daughter will do too!!
Ode to Rob
Our neighbour's parents had to have their beloved dog put down a few weeks ago. They had had Rob for 15 years and was an important member of the family. Some might say he was only a dog but even though I haven't got any pets I know how much an animal would mean to me and my family.
For this reason I decided to print off a verse and decorate it and put in a frame for them to keep. I took it around to their daughter a week or so ago and it brought tears to her eyes. Her Mum and Dad knocked on the door this week to say they really appreciated the verse and they look at it so often.

Billy and Rueben's Bar Mitzvah
I had a very strange request to make some Bar Mitzvah cards for a friend's ........................ kittens. I made so many many changes to these but eventually finished these last week-end. I took them in on Wednesday and she thought they were lots lots better than she ever imagined they'd look. She sent the invites out on Wednesday night and all the children that are coming and their parents were amazed at them. I also made her some thank yous as an extra. She thinks it is a way of teaching children that are other religion and beliefs in the world that we need to understand.
Wedding Cards for My Mum's Work
My Mum called me wanting a larger card done of what she already had. The trouble is that I only take photos of commissioned cards and I had difficulty in getting at what my Mum was trying to explain to me. In the end I made three and had to send them to my Mum. Obviously I am going to make a loss for these but sometimes you have to do that to get people's business. My Mum said that all three were good and the lady would have difficulty in choosing which one to have!!

Birthday Card
Brother-in-law's Wedding - August 2007
My brother-in-law got married last week-end. Sadly I wasn't well enough to travel there so I had to stay at home but I made their wedding Thank Yous. I also asked if they wanted any special cards made ie best man etc. They asked for one for their Best Man and the bride's Mum and Dad. Unfortunately I couldn't find any Best Man words so I had to make up my own!! They loved them all.

First try at a star card
Earlier this year it was the first anniversary of a Birthday List I am a member of along with others. As this Birthday List and subsequent Forum has been my lifeline I decided to broach the question with the other members about doing a special treat for Debbie and Emma that run the List/Forum. Members were in agreement and sent me ATCs and pennies so we could club together and get some nice pressies to say an extra special Thank You. I offered to make the cards. At times I wish I hadn't tried start cards but I was pleased with the end result in the end. Debbie and Emma love their pressies and their cards so a very worthwhile idea!!

Thank You for Tina
My son and I attended the Colemans Warehouse on the 28/7/07 to see Tina Fallon again. She was demonstrating the Scrap Magic templates and a friend of hers, Dawn, was demonstrating the FGS decoupage. My son made a Scrap Magic Christmas Tree with the help of Tina and it looked fab.
A few days later he made a "Thank You" card for Tina and turned the majority of the Christmas Tree template into the sail of the boat and used the elongated hexagon Scrap Magic template for the hull of the boat. He made the sea with ripping of paper and entitled his masterpiece HMS Tina.
