Guest Designer at Through the Purple Haze

I was lucky recently to be asked to be a Guest Designer at the Purple Haze Challenge Blog.

The sponsor for the challenge is Moonflower Digital Stamps.

For my card I have used the Moonflower Digital Stamps image called "Candy Faery".

I have coloured my image in with Promarkers, used my Crafter's Companion clear sparkle pen to her wings (as a fairy needs sparkly wings) and the gorgeous hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows has some baking candy strips).

The backing papers are all from my stash.

I have finished the card off with a border, Lili of the Valley digital sentiment and some buttons.

Happy Birthday Niece

This is a card that I made recently for my niece.

I have used the Paper Shelter image called "Rebel".  For my card I used the composition paper and printed out a few times so I could decoupage up the image.

Backing papers are from Summertime Designs (sadly no longer available).  I distressed the edges of the papers and topper with my Tim Holtz distressing tool for a Shabby Chic style feel to the card.

I have finished the card off with a stamped sentiment, glitter drops, sparkly ruched ribbon and some beads.

Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Inspiration Post - Monday 10 April 2023

The Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Facebook Group challenge for April 2023 is:

Here is my inspiration post.
For my card I have gone with the colour scheme black, bright pink and yellow.

I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik image called "Sakura in March".  In this set you get two images, one black-and-white and one greyscale.  As the recipient is not into fantasy I have just cut off the wings from the fairy when fussy cutting the image.

The card is made from a new Spellbinders die set.  The backing paper used for the decorative frame is from a The Works paper pad.

I have finished the card off with a Spellbinders bow and some sentiments left over from another project.

Sending Birthday Wishes

It was my husband's birthday last month.  I had made his card weeks before using the CraftsUPrint digital kit by Gillian Hutchinson called "Life's Pitch".

Unfortunately when we were away prior to his birthday we made the agonising decision that we needed to sell our caravan.  Although I knew it was for the best it has really affected me. 

I then had to mention to my husband about his birthday card ie about the topic, as I knew health-wise I did not have time to make another card when we got home, but he was OK about it.

For my card I have used the topper, decoupage and insert from the kit and printed onto linen card for a special effect.

The backing papers I used are from Summertime Designs (sadly no longer available).  On one of the papers I used a wood effect stamp around the edge.

I have finished the card off with some ribbon, sentiments from the kit and some card candi.

Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Inspiration Post - Monday 20 June 2022

Today is the day for me to show you another creation for the Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Facebook Group.

Our challenge each month is "ANYTHING GOES".

Here is my inspiration post with that theme.
I have decided to make a bright and cheery card this week.

The Ching-Chou Kuik image I have used is called "Love is Fearless" and I have coloured my image in with Promarkers.  I have edged the image with Tim Holtz's Picked Raspberry and Dusty Concord distress inks.

The backing papers I have used are from my stash box (there's even a die-cut bit missing underneath the image but that's our secret isn't it?).

I have kept the embellishments quite simple as the card needs to be posted so I have added some pearls, lace and a die-cut sentiment.

For my birthday card I have used scraps of 8x8 card with a blue and green colour scheme so that determined the colours I used on my image.

Happy Birthday Just For You

Here is a card that I have made with a Debbi Moore Summer Moments CD.  I'd have love to have been around during those times to wear something like this - very glamourous!!

For my card I have used a decoupage sheet, backing papers and sentiments from the sheet.

I have finished the card off with some ribbon, lace, Sentimentally Yours pearls and some Prima flowers.

For my pillow box I simply printed off from the CD and stuck together.I am entering this card and pillow box into the following challenges:

I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik image called "Carnation and Monarch".

The image has been coloured in with Promarkers and areas highlighted with a white Posca pen and my Sakura stardust clear pen.

The backing papers are bright pink/orange/white and are all from a pad from The Works.

I have finished the card off with some ribbon I got from Dawn Bibby's shop when I went to see it for my 40th birthday, a very sparkly sticker saying "smile" from a Pocket Letter swap some years ago, Craftwork Cards die-cut sentiment and some die-cut flowers with pearl centres.

What a stressful week as I've not been able to get into my own blog.  Thankfully it is all sorted now - fingers crossed!!

Have an amazing time!

Here is a card that I made for young male adult who is into music.  For this card I have used my Debbi Moore Designs "Classic Cards for Men - Timeless Moments CD".  This is a brilliant CD for those hard to make male cards, cards for teenagers and a lot of them I would love to have made into a card being a female!!

I have used a topper sheet and various backing papers on the CD.  To tie in with the theme of music I have used various musical stamps to stamp onto the papers I have used.

As the card needed to be posted I have finished it off quite simply with some sentiments off the CD, cardboard buttons off the CD and a musical charm held in place with a brad.

Another Birthday ....... Suits You Sir!

Here is an 8x8 inch card I have made using the fabulous kit Gillian Hutchinson over at CraftsUPrint called "You are Pawsome!"  In this kit you get so much including a topper, decoupage, two inserts, sentiments and some little cards or you can make these into tags and all for the price of £1.60!!

For my card I have used the main topper image, sentiment and decoupage which I have printed onto photo paper and I have printed off the sentiment insert onto 160gsm card.

As this card has to be posted I have added the layers of decoupage up with double-sided tape. I know you don't get the full effect as if using foam pads or glue gel but it still looks better with the layers.  Is he not handsome?

I kept the colour scheme of the card to black, white and gold.  I have cut a piece of Hunkydory adorable scorable card and put through an A4 dotty embossing folder as I thought the gold and dots matched his gorgeous bow tie.

I have finished the card off simply with two sentiment tags from the kit and a plain tag which I have added a "With Love" gold peel-off.

Happy Birthday - Have a Blooming Great Day!

Here is a birthday card I have made using a kit from CraftsUPrint from the ever-so-talented Gillian Hutchinson called "Bottom of the Garden - Bunny".

For my card I have used the main image, decoupage, sentiments and an insert.

To give some texture, like the quilting on the image, I have put some paper from The Works through an A4 embossing folder and then inked around the edge with Tim Holtz's Tattered Rose and Picked Raspberry distress ink to highlight the embossing a bit more.

I have finished the card off quite simply with some wide pink satin ribbon and sentiments from the kit.

Just for You ...... Happy Birthday

Here is a birthday card that I have made using my Debbi Moore Art Deco Summer Moments Compendium.  Isn't she a beauty with that lovely dress?

For my card I have a decoupage sheet, background papers, sentiments and the rose embellishment.

As the card was for someone at work I didn't have to worry with trying to keep it flat.  It's sad we have to do this but it will be even more needed soon as postage here in the UK goes up again.

I have finished the card off with some glitter ribbon, wide lace and a blue bow that I have for a number of years that came on a box of chocolates!!!

I have coloured my image in with Promarkers and highlighted areas with my white Posca pen.

The papers are from my stash and I have cut with my Tim Holtz deckle edged guillotine and inked around the edges of the papers, image, die-cut butterfly, die-cut butterfly doily and sentiment with Tim Holtz's Tea Dye distress ink.
