For my my card I have used a CraftsUPrint kit by Gillian Hutchison called "Can I smell Cake?".

For my my card I have used the main topper/decoupage/insert/ small toppers/backing paper.

I have finished the card off with some ribbon, tag from the kit and die-cuts for my friend's name.

Owl Always Love You!

It is Valentine's Day today so I have made my husband a very special card.

I have used a kit I bought from CraftsUPrint by Gillian Hutchinson (Pixel Lane) called "Owl Always Love You!".  

In the kit you get so much including toppers, envelope, inserts and sentiments.

I have used various brown backing papers from Summertime Designs (sadly no longer available).

I have finished the card off with some dotty ribbon, Glossy Accents to the buttons and eyes of the owls and die-cut some hearts out of sticky backed cork and because the cork was too light I coloured it with Tim Holtz's Tea Dye distress ink.

Sending Birthday Wishes

It was my husband's birthday last month.  I had made his card weeks before using the CraftsUPrint digital kit by Gillian Hutchinson called "Life's Pitch".

Unfortunately when we were away prior to his birthday we made the agonising decision that we needed to sell our caravan.  Although I knew it was for the best it has really affected me. 

I then had to mention to my husband about his birthday card ie about the topic, as I knew health-wise I did not have time to make another card when we got home, but he was OK about it.

For my card I have used the topper, decoupage and insert from the kit and printed onto linen card for a special effect.

The backing papers I used are from Summertime Designs (sadly no longer available).  On one of the papers I used a wood effect stamp around the edge.

I have finished the card off with some ribbon, sentiments from the kit and some card candi.

For the card I have used a Mini Kit called "The Dawg!" by Gillian Hutchinson over at CraftsUPrint.

Here is a retirement card that I have made using a kit called "Sea View" by the ever so talented Janet Briggs over at CraftsUPrint.

For my card I have printed the topper sheet and the decoupage sheet as I knew this one was being hand delivered so I didn't have to worry about the depth of it and posting.

The backing papers are from my nautical pad by Sara Davies over at Crafter's Companion.  I love this paper pad as it goes so well with lots of images like this that I have got.

I have finished the card off with die-cut shells/anchor/ship's wheel/netting (by Crafter's Companion), pearls, sentiment from the kit and a metal charm held on with some garden twine.

Another Birthday ....... Suits You Sir!

Here is an 8x8 inch card I have made using the fabulous kit Gillian Hutchinson over at CraftsUPrint called "You are Pawsome!"  In this kit you get so much including a topper, decoupage, two inserts, sentiments and some little cards or you can make these into tags and all for the price of £1.60!!

For my card I have used the main topper image, sentiment and decoupage which I have printed onto photo paper and I have printed off the sentiment insert onto 160gsm card.

As this card has to be posted I have added the layers of decoupage up with double-sided tape. I know you don't get the full effect as if using foam pads or glue gel but it still looks better with the layers.  Is he not handsome?

I kept the colour scheme of the card to black, white and gold.  I have cut a piece of Hunkydory adorable scorable card and put through an A4 dotty embossing folder as I thought the gold and dots matched his gorgeous bow tie.

I have finished the card off simply with two sentiment tags from the kit and a plain tag which I have added a "With Love" gold peel-off.

Easter Wishes

Here is an Easter card I have made using an image from CraftsUPrint by Karen Wyeth called "Bella's Easter Wishes".  Now who could not resist this little dog dressed up as a bunny? 

I have used the main topper, decoupage and extra butterflies from the digital kit.

The backing papers are from The Works and Hobbycraft.

The card is finished off very simply with some pink pearls.

Happy Birthday - Have a Blooming Great Day!

Here is a birthday card I have made using a kit from CraftsUPrint from the ever-so-talented Gillian Hutchinson called "Bottom of the Garden - Bunny".

For my card I have used the main image, decoupage, sentiments and an insert.

To give some texture, like the quilting on the image, I have put some paper from The Works through an A4 embossing folder and then inked around the edge with Tim Holtz's Tattered Rose and Picked Raspberry distress ink to highlight the embossing a bit more.

I have finished the card off quite simply with some wide pink satin ribbon and sentiments from the kit.

I love Hanging out with you Special Husband - Happy Valentine's Day

Here is the Valentine's Day card for my hubby using a kit called "Sloths Just Chillin"  by Janet Briggs over at CraftsUPrint.  The image is a lot brighter but with the mirri card it was a nightmare to take a photo of so I had to do at a weird angle.

For the card for my husband I have used the decoupage sheet with lots of layers, insert and two sentiments.

The backing papers I have used are from my stash.

I have finished the card off with some die-cut hearts which I then put through a dotty embossing folder, two different grosgrain ribbons and a stamped sentiment.

With Love at Christmas

Here are two Christmas cards I have made using a kit from CraftsUPrint by Gillian Hutchinson called "Christmas Dogs Bumper Kit Four".  I have used the Pug and Westie image but in the set there is also a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Cocker Spaniel.

For both cards I have printer the topper sheet off twice so I could do a little bit of decoupage and also I printed off matching inserts.  The backing papers are from my stash.  I have had to keep the embellishments simple as they needed posting so I have used Viva Decor pearl drops and sentiments from the kit.

Go Wild - It's Your Birthday Son

Today is a special day as it is our eldest son's 29th birthday (the BIG 3) next year - yikes!!!).

I wanted to make an extra special card for him.  I bought this kit from CraftsUPrint called "Cheeky Monkey" by Gillian Hutchinson.

I have used the decoupage topper with lots of layers for the monkey, leaves and the snake and also the sentiment, backing paper and insert.

I have finished the card of with the die-cut word "son" and embossed with a small dotty embossing folder, embroidery thread bow and a button.

A Perfect Time to Craft Open Challenge Blog - August 2021

Today sees a new challenge over at the A Perfect Time to Craft Open Challenge Blog.

This month I have made a retirement card using the kit called "Tropical Wild 6x8 Kit 5" from CraftsUPrint by s.vieira.

It took me quite a while to work out what colour that would make the elephants "pop" but I got there in the end with some orange pearlescent card I got when I was away recently.  

It took some time with all the layers of fussy cutting to do but I got there in the end.  I knew the card was being hand delivered so I could use all of the layers of decoupage.  The main card is 8x8 but the topper with the mats and layers I made it so it sticks above and the card is just a little bit short of an A4 size!!

The backing papers are from The Works.  Sadly when I went in one of their shops whilst away and once in the town I live there were no paper pads to be seen.  They were such gorgeous quality.  I just hope they have not discontinued them.

I finished the card off with a die-cut name cut twice to give a drop shadow effect, flowers from the kit, Nuvo pearl drops and a Phill Martin Sentimentally Yours sentiment.

The recipient of the card was given the card the second week of July.  She is a WRVS lady who was working on reception at the hospital where I work all throughout our lockdowns in the UK.  She has finished now but I didn't want her to just go without anything so I made her this special card.

Happy Pearl Wedding Anniversary to my Wonderful Husband Paul

Well where were you 30 years ago today?

This is my husband and I on our wedding day.  It was a lovely day with family and friends but I seriously missed my dad being alive for my special day. 

This is us a few years ago:

Obviously a pearl anniversary meant I had to make an extra special card for my husband.

For my card I have used a CraftsUPrint kit by AS Snezana Cards called "Wedding Anniversary Champagne Mini Kit".  I have made an 8x8 easel card.  The backing papers are from Summertime Designs (sadly no longer available).

I have used extracts from the kit and behind the decoupage I have used strung pearls, lace and some large pearls.

This is a close-up of the bottom of the card and the flowers in the corner have been decoupaged high to make sure that they are the stopper for the easel card.

I hope my husband likes his card.  It took me quite a while to make but I am pleased with how it turned out.

Hope Your Birthday is Full of Chills and Thrills

It is my nephew's 16th birthday today.  Not the kind of 16th birthday he would have imagined years ago.  At 16 they are at a difficult age as to what to use as the subject for their cards.  Their uncle picked this image so it was up to me to make into a card.

The image is called "Frankly I'm Shocked" by Gillian Hutchinson over at CraftsUPrint.  I know he is supposed to be scary but I think he's cute in another way. In this kit you get the main topper, little tag, lots and lots of sentiments as well as lots of layers of decoupage.  I printed it out onto glossy photo paper for a change.

As it is a card for a teenager I have just done some simple matting and layering, added an insert and finished the card off with a die-cut "16", die-cut mount, ribbon and some fibres.

I hope my nephew likes it - if not it is Uncle Paul's fault!!

For my Valentine's Day card I have used the mini kit called "Old and Wrinkly Mini Kit" by Elaine Hayhoe.  For the top layer of the cute little wrinkly dogs I made a concertina with some scraps of card so that when my husband pulls the card out of the envelope the heads will automatically jump up.

I have used the topper sheet, insert and embellishments.

I have finished the card off with thick ribbon to make the frame shape, sentiments from a Debbi Moore CD and Stickles glitter glue added to some of the hearts for some sparkle and shine.

Happy Birthday Niece

It is my niece's birthday today.  She has a pug called Lily so when looking through images on CraftsUPrint this kit by Gillian Hutchinson called "Busted" was perfect.

It is a mini kit whereby you get toppers, insert and sentiments etc.

The backing papers I have used are from Summertime Designs (sadly no longer available) and on one plain brown paper I stamped lots and lots of paw prints on it.

I have finished the card off quite simply with some Phill Martin Sentimentally Yours die-cut tags, fibres and some Papermania Glitterations.

Happy Birthday Son

It is our youngest son's 24th birthday birthday.  I spent hours trawling through images on CraftsUPrint before I found this perfect image as my son as he does baking every Saturday.  This little gnome with his beautiful cake is from a kit from CraftsUPrint by Tanya Hall called "Gnome Chef Birthday Mini Kit".  In the kit you get the main topper, insert, decoupage layers and lots and lots of sentiments - certainly amazing value for £1.20.

I was able to match the colours in the topper to backing papers by using my Creative Crafting World Perfect Papercrafting CD".

I have finished the card off quite simply with a sentiment from the kit and some white organza ribbon which I coloured in stripes with Promarkers to match the colours in the toppers and the backing papers.

 This month we are very lucky to be sponsored by "CraftsUPrint".

I fell in love with this cute image of a gnome couple so had to use it for our 29th wedding anniversary card.  The CraftsUPrint image is by Gillian Hutchinson called "3 in 1 Gnomebody Loves You Like Me".

For my card I have used the backing image, insert and decoupage topper.

The backing paper is from a vintage pad from The Works.

I have used some old cardboard packaging and some of the backing paper to make the "2" and "9" higher than normal by using two lots of the cardboard and one of the backing paper.  I have then glued together, used a Burnt Sienna around all the edges of the "2" and "9" (in hindsight it would have been easier to colour the edges of the numbers separately rather than altogether to get a full coverage with the brown alcohol ink but that's something to remember for another time!!) and then added some dots with a Crimson Promarker.

I have finished the card off with Glossy Accents on the eyes and hearts, die-cut and embossed hearts, stamped sentiment and card candi.
