Lots of "puff" needed for this card!!

Over at the Graph'it Challenge this week the topic is "hot colours" and the Design Team were given the additional topic of airbrushing.  I thought I'd play along.
The image of a mermaid and a seahorse is from the Polkadoodles Double CD called "Bonbon Belles". I have coloured the image in with my Graph'it pens and kept the colour scheme of bright yellow, orange, turquoise blue and a light blue.

Next came the airbrushing.  I printed off the image onto a piece of copy paper and cut out and used this as a mask over the image.  In March when I had my dental surgery I had a big box of plastic straws so I tried blowing down one onto the end of a Graph'it pen.  This wasn't too successful as I struggle blowing like that.  Then I had a brainwave and decided to cut the straw in half and see how I fared.  Success!!!  After I'd done the background with a bright yellow and turquoise blue I did the same technique but instead used the Graph'it gold sparkle pen which also gave the same result but nice and sparkly.  I was pleased how the image turned out and will certainly try again in the future.

The backing papers I have used for my card are from Crafty Individuals and are called "The Seaside".  I so love these papers and recently had to buy another set as I'd nearly used my first set up.  I have inked all the edges of my papers with Tim Holtz's Brushed Corduroy distress ink and highlighted areas with Imagination Crafts Gold Shine Sparkle Medium.

I have finished the card off with some Joanna Sheen decorative fish net, some sand Flowersoft (underneath the shells), Marianne Designs die-cut shells/anchor/lighthouse all highlighted with Tim Holtz's Brushed Corduroy distress ink and Imagination Crafts Gold Shine Sparkle Medium, die-cut seahorse cut with my Cricut and highlighted with Tim Holtz's Brushed Corduroy distress ink and Imagination Crafts Gold Shine Sparkle Medium and a die-cut sentiment.

We are now half way through the month at the Gruffies and Guests Challenge Blog.

The topic for July 2014 is "anything goes with the optional twist of Summer".
The Scribble & Scrap Shop
This month the sponsor for the Gruffies and Guests Challenge is the "Scribble and Scrap Shop".
For my card I have used this gorgeous bee-bunny image from the Gruffies and Happy Hoppers CD.  Aren't they sweet?  They remind me of summer when you hear and see them "out and about".  I have used the matching backing paper from the CD and have used all the elements on the design sheet on the front of the card, on the inside and on the back.  I have added some Glossy Accents to the wings and antennae.

I have finished the card off with a die-cut sentiment, two different ribbons, die-cut shapes and butterflies, die-cut flowers with brad centres and a little bee charm which I have had for years and years.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
