Happy Retirement Peter

My hubby asked me to make a retirement card for a colleague of his who is leaving work tomorrow after a very long time with the same company.  When my hubby first started on the buses it was a conductor on green Routemasters and then once that was mastered he went into the driving school to be a bus driver.  When my eldest was young we'd sometimes go for a ride on his dad's bus at the week-ends or school holidays.  Memories eh?

This card was made using my Debbi Moore Vintage Transport CD.  I have used some backing papers and decoupage sheet.  I used some scraps of the backing paper for the symbols around the image.  The green Routemasters here mainly did a "101" service so I managed to stamp a "101" to the front of the bus.

Fingers crossed the recipient likes it.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Simon Says - Anything goes
Penny's Paper - Anything goes
CD Sunday - Anything goes
Crafty Catz - Anything goes with the option to use anything yellow

Lemon Shortbread Challenge - Tuesday 31 July 2018

Welcome to another challenge over at the Lemon Shortbread Challenge Blog.

The challenge this fortnight is "anything goes".
Oh me oh my this card has been a nightmare to photograph and I am still not happy with it now.  The camera with/without the flash is just bouncing off the pearlescent coating of the card and also the sentiment.

For my card I have used the Lemon Shortbread image called "Dandelions".  I have coloured the image in with Promarkers and fussy cut her out.

The backing paper I have used is from a Debbi Moore Inspiration Magazine which thankfully matched the image perfectly as I coloured her up before picking the paper.  Normally I pick the paper and then colour the image to match.  What do you do?

I have used a piece of Centura pearl card and embossed with a dandelion embossing folder and sanded back to the core.

I have finished the card off with some flowers with brad centres, ribbon (underneath the lace), lace and a Craftwork Cards die-cut sentiment.

Promarkers used:

Face/skin - Saffron, Spice and Oatmeal
Hair - Cocoa, Cinnamon and Burnt Sienna
Dress - Duck Egg, Turquoise, Salmon Pink and Cocktail Pink.

Colour Crazy Challenge Blog - Friday 27 July 2018

Good morning.  It is time for another challenge over at the Colour Crazy Challenge Blog.

The topic this week is "anything goes".

PLEASE NOTE:  We are a colouring challenge and therefore to take part in the challenge you MUST have coloured something on your card/creation.
This week we are lucky to be sponsored by Polkadoodles
For my seaside themed birthday card I have used the Polkadoodles image "Meribelle Friends" as I couldn't resist this little mermaid and her dolphin friends.  I have coloured the image in with Promarkers.  I coloured the background with my Duck Egg Promarker and then used various stamps to add texture for the water, added some white doodling and finally some glittery sequins.

All the backing papers are from my stash along with kraft card, all of which I have distressed with my Tim Holtz distressing tool along with the image and then edged with a brown chalk ink pad.

I have finished the card off some blue netting, die-cut seahorses/anchor from a friend, added googly eyes to the seahorses and the dolphins, added a little starfish and a die-cut sentiment.

The Promarkers that I have used are:

Face/skin - Saffron, Spice and Oatmeal
Hair/mermaid body - Lemon, Yellow, Canary, Leaf Green and Apple
Flowers - Purple, Amethyst, Bright Green and Forest Green
Background - Swirls of blending tool around the image to make a patchy effect followed by Duck Egg.

Thank You

Here is a card that I have made for a Student Hygienist I saw at the Eastman Dental Hospital in London.  Thanks to her help I am now waiting to go on the remainder of my very long journey to mended jaws/teeth.

For my card I have used my Card Toonz Professionals CD (that used to be sold by Joanna Sheen).  Yes this octopus was supposedly a dentist but I have changed it to a hygienist by adding some hair and changing the colour of the trousers, mask and shoes!!  I have used the topper sheet and backing papers from the CD.

I have finished the card off quite simply with some ribbon, tag with stamped sentiment and embellishments from the CD - toothbrush, mirror and teeth.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

CD Sunday - Anything goes

27 years ago today I said "I do"

Where were you 27 years ago today?  I know exactly where I was as it was my wedding day.

To celebrate our wedding anniversary I have my husband this card.
I have used my Debbi  Moore Shabby Chic Love CD.  I have used a quick A5 card that I printed out 3 times so that I could decoupage the image up well as I haven't got to think about the cost of postage!!  I have also printed off the matching large envelope that I made up for the card to go into.
I have finished the card off simply with a sentiment off the quick card sheet, a stamped sentiment, nice ribbon bow and a die-cut 2 and 7 which I have put through my mini dots embossing folder.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

A Bit More Time to Craft - Anything goes
Lil Patch of Crafty Friends - Anything goes

This week the Design Team were challenged to "EMBOSSING - WET OR DRY" by Design Team Member Lozzy.

Here is my inspiration post with this theme.
For my card I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik digital image called "Toadstool Fairy".  I have coloured the image in with Promarkers, added white Posca pen to the toadstool, added Sakura Stardust clear pen to her dress and wings for some sparkle and then fuss cut out the image.

For the backdrop for my image I have coloured a piece of white card with Tim Holtz's Broken China and Peeled paint distress inks to look like the sky and grass.  I added some Sheena Douglass toadstools which I coloured with Promarkers, added white dots with my Posca white pen and fussy cut out.  I used a bird stamp for some interest in the sky.
The other backing papers are from my stash.

My embossed items are my decorative corners which I cut with a Spellbinders die, embossed with a mini dots embossing folder and inked with Broken China distress ink  and also the decorative border added to the top which has been inked with Broken China distress ink and finally I added some gems.

Face/skin - Saffron, Spice and Oatmeal

Lemon Shortbread Challenge - Tuesday 17 July 2018

Welcome to another challenge over at the Lemon Shortbread Challenge Blog.

The challenge this fortnight is "anything goes".
I have decided to make another Christmas card to save the panic at the end of the year to make them.

For my card I have used this gorgeous digital stamp from Lemon Shortbread called "First Snowflake".  I have coloured the image in with Promarkers, added Stickles glitter glue to the snowflake and used a rubber stamp to stamp "tis the season".

The backing papers I have used are from my stash.

I have finished the card off with a snowflake ribbon and die-cut snowflakes with Stickles glitter glue added to the centre.  It's sad when we have to keep embellishments to a minimum/flat due to postage but that is what we have to do if we want to post Christmas cards to our family and friends.

The Promarkers I have used are:

Face/skin - Saffron, Spice and Oatmeal
Hair - Khaki, Pastel Beige and Putty
Coat/boots/hat - Leaf Green, Forest Green, Bright Green, Putty and Henna.

Happy birthday to my dear husband

This is the card that I have made for my husband for his birthday today.  I recently bought the Debbi Moore Cards for Men CD 4 (sadly it looks like this is no longer available) as I especially wanted this bus image as my husband is a bus driver.

I have used backing papers, insert and decoupage sheet to make the card.

Happy birthday card ................... with a difference

I was asked by my son to make a card for his friend in the USA who longs to be a Forensic Scientist hopefully specialising in blood splatter analysis.

It is sad that we need people like this doing a very difficult job.  Sometimes they have to determine foul play but sometimes when things look bad it is their expertise and that of police forces around the world that determine a death is natural causes.
Yes as you can imagine this is not the normal type of card that I make but I had a go.  On the front of the card I have used red acrylic paint and in areas dragged the end of a crochet hook through it and also dabs spots in places to look like blood splatter.  I have used various images and typed up a sentiment to go on the card.
I have used various splat and lined stamps throughout the card and it would never have turned out like it did without my Tim Holtz Stamping Platform.

All around the front of the card near the scallops, throughout the card and also on the ribbon I used a black Versafine ink and stamped my fingerprints all over.  I have to say it made it look more realistic.

Fingers crossed Jayme likes her card after 4-5 hours spent on it!!

Ching-Chou Kuik's Digital Stamps Inspiration Post - Friday 6 July 2018

Here is my weekly inspiration post for the Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Monthly Challenge Blog.

The challenge topic for July 2018 is "THANK YOU/SYMPATHY".

Here is my inspiration post with this theme.
I have chosen to make a sympathy card.  With my sympathy card I make them very simple as personally I do not feel it is the time to make cards with lots of embellishments.

For my card I have used the partially coloured Ching-Chou Kuik digital stamp called "Love Message".  I have just simply added some beige chalk to the background as white card did not match the other papers I have used.

The backing papers I have used are from various magazines from Debbi Moore and Sara Davies from Crafter's Companion.

I have finished the card off very simply with some organza ribbon, flower ribbon, stamped sentiment and some pearls.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
