Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Inspiration Post - Monday 4 September 2023

Here is one of my inspiration posts.

For my journal page this month I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik image called "Restless Thoughts".

I have coloured the image in with Promarkers and highlighted areas with my white gel pen.

The Backing paper was in my scrap folder.  It was too much of a light blue so I used Tim Holtz's Peeled Paint distress ink over it and it resisted in the areas of the glitter leaves on the backing paper.

I have finished my journal page off with some die-cut toadstools, punch cut leaves and a stamped sentiment.

Here it is next to the image of the red panda I did a while back.

I have made a Christmas card to keep a flow of them being made throughout the year.

For my card I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik image called "Aurora Woods".

I have coloured the image in with Promarkers and Sentimentally Yours alcohol pens.

The backing papers I have used are from The Works.

As this will need to be a posted card I have kept the embellishments to a minimum with just some card candi and a die-cut sentiment.

Here is one of my inspiration posts.

This was not intended for my journal but in fact a card to be sent.  I tried to add the cloud effect after I had coloured the image and had not carefully enough masked over the lady's sleeve of her dress so I went over with some ink.  Despite adding some depth to the colouring with alcohol pens and also with pencils I can still see the mark so it did not make itself onto a card as if I am not happy with something I will not give it to someone else.

For my journal page I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik image called "Hydrangea in Bow".

I have coloured my image in with Promarkers and Sentimentally Yours alcohol pens, added clouds to the background and added pencils to her dress to try and obliterate the ink on her sleeve.

I have finished the page off with some stamped corners and stamped sentiment.

I have done a few journal pages this month.  This is my first one.

I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik Decoupage Art image called "Dreamy Moon".  It comes in a set along with "Purple Woods" and is already coloured and ready to print off.

I have printed the image off onto photo paper and then used dies to create a pyromage effect.

The back paper is from The Works and I have used lots of different butterfly stamps with various ink colours and first and second generation stamping to create some depth to the background.  I then tore a piece of vellum and laid this over the left hand side underneath the image.

I have finished the page off with various die-cut butterflies and a stamped sentiment.

Happy Anniversary

It was a friend's wedding anniversary recently so I thought this image would be perfect as it reminds me of the film "Grease" which is one of my all time favourite films.

For my card I used The Paper Shelter image called "Hey Baby".  In this set you will get a black-and-white image to colour in, a coloured in image, a complementary backing paper and a composition paper.  I used the composition paper, took into Craft Artist so I could add the sentiment "Happy anniversary" and printed out twice so I could do a bit of decoupage.

The backing papers are from Summertime Designs (sadly no longer available).

I have finished the card off quite simply with a decorative bow and die-cut hearts put through a dotty embossing folder.

For my final post this month I have done my journal page.  I am enjoying making these which is good what with everything going on.

The image I chose to use was "Sea Breeze" and she comes in a set along with 9 other mermaid images.

I have coloured my image in with Promarkers and then used a script stamp and dotty stamp to create some attention to the sea.  Around the image I stamped and coloured a See D's bamboo frame for a bit of a change.  

For the background I have used Tim Holtz's Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Faded Jeans and Peacock Feathers distress inks and just coloured areas here and there.  I then rubbed on quite a lot of silver gilding wax for some sparkle and shine.

I have finished the journal page off with a die-cut bubble background where I used the main die-cut and used the waste ie the dots as air bubbles for the water, die-cut shells and a sentiment.

For my second project this month I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik image called "Beloved Sunshine".  This image is part of a set.  You will get one a very detailed background and one less detailed which is the one I decided to use for a change.

I have coloured the image in with Promarkers and used chalks for the background.  

The backing papers are from Summertime Designs (sadly no longer available).

I have finished the card off with some gorgeous wide lace, large die-cut sunflower, ribbon, sentiments and die-cut butterflies and a dotty background which I think was sold for bubbles in the water (Crafter's Companion).

For my first card for July 2023 I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik image called "Hummingbird".

I have coloured my image in with Promarkers.

The backing papers were all bits of offcuts from my stash.  I decided to use some of my smaller dies to do a grid pattern.  I didn't quite have enough of the blue glitter card so underneath there is a piece missing - you will keep my secret won't you??

I have finished the card off quite simply with some lace, ribbon, Glossy Accents put on some of the dots on the dotty paper to add some dimension and Crafter's Companion stamped sentiment and feathers.

As You Like It - Favourite plain or patterned paper and why? (I like both patterned and plain paper.  If I print off an image at a larger size I prefer to use plain paper so as not to detract from the image.  With smaller images/stamps I tend to prefer patterned paper as I enjoy picking some paper and colouring the image to match)

I thought I had better keep on-the-roll with making some Christmas cards.  This time I have used the pre-coloured Ching-Chou Kuik image called "Holly Fairy" which comes in a set along with two other images.

I have die-cut the image so I could do a pyromage card and have just laid on the layers with more and more foam squares to give height.

The backing papers I have used are from Hobby Lobby and the plain papers are from Summertime Designs (sadly no longer available).

I have finished the card off with four wooden holly embellishments from Hobbycraft and a sentiment from the backing paper pad.

Here is a journal page I have made using the Ching-Chou Kuik image called "Bunny in March".

I have coloured my image in with Promarkers and highlighted areas with my Sakura Stardust pen.

I have made the backing paper laying down different Tim Holtz distress inks like Kitsch Flamingo, Spun Sugar, Victorian Velvet and Picked Raspberry.  I have then stamped around the edge with various leaf and flower stamps to give a nice backdrop to the image.

I have finished my journal page off with a large sentiment, die-cut butterflies, ribbon and some gorgeousssssssssssss Sizzix die-cut bunnies from a set that I bought last year in Utah.  They are a bit fiddly to put together but oh so worth it.

One of my fellow Design Team members asked for some Christmas images recently and it spurred me onto making some Christmas cards.

For this Christmas card I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik pre-coloured image called "Crimson Holly".  She comes in a set along with Cherish Christmas and Holly Night.

I printed the image off onto glossy photo paper and then cut the image out with some nesting scallop dies so I could do a pyromage effect with them.  I've taken my photo so you can see the raised areas.  I like doing decoupage or pyromage with the pre-coloured images - maybe its because when I started crafting I started with decoupage cards.

The backing papers are from a gorgeous paper pad from the Hobby Lobby when we went to Utah last year.  I so did not want to start this paper pad but it had to be done.  Just wish we had this store in the UK.

I have finished the card off with a Lily of the Valley digital sentiment and some holly leaves cut out from scraps left of the backing paper ("waste not, want not" but crumbs they were fiddly to cut out with my dodgy hands and eyes let alone inking them!!).
