Ching-Chou Kuik's Digital Stamps Monthly Challenge Blog - Kym's Inspiration Post - Monday 21 December 2015

It is time for me to show you my Inspiration Post for the Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Monthly Challenge Blog.

Before I do I'd like to remind you that our challenge this month is "a birthday card".

 A friend earlier in the year sent me a "Pocket Letter".  I'd not heard of these and how do a little research about them.  Pocket Letters were an idea of Janette Lane and it has taken off worldwide.  Why not visit her blog here and have a look.

 For this weeks' inspiration post I am showing you my very first Pocket Letter.  

I started off with cutting 9 pieces of watercolour card to 3.5 inches x 2.5 inches.  I then used a red Pan Pastel, an oxide green Pan Pastel, the blender Pan Pastel and the Coarse Medium Pan Pastel to make the backdrop for the images and stamped images/sentiments.

I have used four different Ching-Chou Kuik digital stamps - Aurora Woods, Christmas Venice Night, Winter Warmth and Gentleness.  I have coloured all the images with my Promarkers and added highlights of Stickles glitter glue.

Behind the back of all the digital stamp images, stamped images and sentiments are all little goodies for the recipient including a handwritten letter by me.

Gruffies and Guest Challenge Blog - December 2015 - Anything goes or the option of SNOWFLAKES AND SPARKLE

Today it is time for me to show you another card for the Gruffies and Guests Challenge Blog.

 The topic for December 2015 is "anything goes with the option of snowflakes and sparkle".

Don't forget you do have the option of anything goes plus if you do use the optional theme (this month it is "snowflakes and sparkle") you will get 2 chances in the prize draw.

This month I have used an image and backing paper from my Joanna Sheen House Mouse Christmas Projects CD/Book.  I love this image.  I printed out the design sheet twice so I could decoupage the large image.  I have added some Stickles glitter glue for the snow.

I have used Tim Holtz's Tumbled Glass, Chipped Sapphire, Broken China and Faded Jeans distress inks and rubbed the colours over some watercolour card.  I then spritzed with water to merge the colours and left to dry.  I then used a snowflake die I won a few years ago in a blog candy and cut the snowflakes out of the card.  I then rubbed them over with some Stickles glitter glue for some sparkle.

I have finished the card off with some Christmas ribbon, snowflakes, die-cut buttons, gems and a sentiment from a Debbi Moore CD which I have edged with the same Stickles glitter glue.

As from March 2015 we have a new idea for those that enter the Monthly Blog Challenge in that we will be asking for a Guest Designer to join the Design Team for a month.  For those that enter the March Challenge they will be get to be a Guest Designer for May to give the crafter chance to make a card/creation, those that enter the April Challenge will be a Guest Designer for June etc.  If you would like to be a Guest Designer please put “GDT” after your name.  You will be contacted ASAP if you are successful.  If you don’t get in the first time make sure you keep trying!!

Daily you will also find inspiration for Weeks 1, 2 and 3 from the Design Team members Alica, Aurora, Dianne, Linda, Lozzy, Sylvia, Vannessa and myself.

Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps - New Releases

 Today sees the arrival in the Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Etsy Store of some new images.  

They were originally available at Sweet Pea Stamps but now that they have closed they are being offered in the Etsy Store.

Hopefully more of the images will come into the Etsy Store.

These images are love related.  Yes it seems a long time away until Valentine's Day but it will be soon upon us.  These images though could be used for any occasion.

The images that have arrived in the Etsy Store are "A Bunch of Love", "Always", "Forever Valentine" and "Wait for You".  These four images are available as a set at £8.14.

It is time for me to show you my Inspiration Post for the Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Monthly Challenge Blog.

Before I do I'd like to remind you that our challenge this month is "a birthday card".

The Design Team have all been challenge this week to use the same image from the Etsy Store, "Aurora Woods".

For my Christmas card I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik image called "Aurora Woods".  I have coloured the image in with Promarkers, chalked the background and edged the image with Tim Holtz's Peeled Paint distress ink.  I have added some Flowersoft Polar White for the fur on her hat.

I have used a holly stamp to decorate the front of the card and used a red pencil for the holly berries.  I made my own backing paper with various red and green distress inks (Peeled Paint, Shabby Shutters, Pine Needles, Fired Brick and Festive Berries) and spritzed with water and sprinkled on some gold mica powder and left to dry.  

I have finished the card off with a tag shaped sentiment, card candi and I have made two die-cut poinsettias out of red and green tissue paper - it gives the effect without the weight all held together with some extra long Tim Holtz brads.

Over at the Crafts and Me Facebook Challenge this month the topic is "glitter".

For my card I have used the Crafts and Me image by Jeremiah Ketner called "Only with you".  I have coloured the image in with Promarkers, chalked the ground and added glitter to the flowers and the edge of her dress.

The backing papers I have used are from a Debbi Moore magazine.

I have used a Hobbycraft butterfly die-cut card blank and have used a glue pen and the same glitter to make it all sparkly.

I have finished the card off with some Prima flowers, stamped sentiment, flowers made by a friend, gems and some flowery ribbon.

2 Crafty Girls Challenge - 10 December 2015 - Anything goes

Here is my first Design Team card as a member of the 2 Crafty Girls Challenge Blog.

The challenge for this fortnight is "anything goes" so that is a nice and easy one to re-start the challenge blog.
