Sweet Pea Stampers - April 2013 - Support your favourite charity

It is time for another challenge over at the Sweet Pea Stampers Challenge Blog.  The challenge this month is "support your favourite charity".
I make all my cards to make and sell to raise funds for charity so I support many international/national/local charities and for many different topics ie health/children/elderly/animals.  For my card I have used an animal as I often support the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA).  I have never grown up with animals but I cannot bare the thought of anyone mistreating animals.

For my card I have used a Sweet Pea Stamps Ching Chou-Kuik's rubber stamp called "Fly Dandelions" (this is also available now as a digital image).  I have coloured the image in with Promarkers and highlighted areas with my Star Dust Stickles and Pan Pastels.  I have then used a Craft Concept Dandelion Whisper embossing folder and highlighted areas again with my Stickles.
The backing papers I have used are from the Bearly Mine Designs Damask Collection.  I have finished the card off with a glittery feather, Spellbinders butterfly (inked with Tim Holtz's Milled Lavender and Dusty Concord distress ink along with my Inkylicious brush), lace, Craftwork Cards sentiment and some small flowers.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Aud Sentiments Challenge - 11 April 2013 - Sentiment for a Guy

It's Thursday and time for another challenge over at the Aud Sentiments Challenge Blog.  This fortnight the challenge is to "use a sentiment for a guy".
This fortnight we are lucky to be sponsored by Bugaboo Digi Stamps.
For my card I have used the Bugaboo Digi Stamps image called "Guy - the car" which I have coloured in with my Promarkers and made for someone who has just passed their driving test.

I have used some papers from the Bearly Mine Designs Christmas Traditions and Damask Delight paper sets.  We recently bought a new road atlas especially for trucks so we know of larger service stations when we are away in our caravan so I have cut the old one up to use.  I have inked the piece of atlas with Tim Holtz's Shabby Shutters and Pine Needles distress inks and torn the edges.  I have finished the card off with some raffia ribbon, card candi, buttons and two Craftwork Cards sentiments.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

New Digi Sets from Bearly Mine Designs

Donna from Bearly Mine Designs has been very busy lately and two new digi sets have arrived in the Bearly Mine Designs shop today.
The first paper set is called "Floral Surprise" and the papers have been made in conjunction with the glorious blooms by Tracey Lynn Miller of Fred She Said.  They are certainly some nice, bright and cheery papers that we all need at the moment with the cold and miserable weather we've had of late.  This set is £4.50 for 28 bright and gorgeous papers.
The second digi set is called "Vintage Fantasy" as Donna has been asked for more vintage.  These papers are gorgeous as well and I can't wait to use them.  This set is £5.50 for 39 papers.

Tuesday Throwdown Guest Designer - 9 April 2013

Forever Friends Fortnightly Challenge - Monday 8 April 2013

Today sees the start of a fortnightly challenge over at the Forever Friends and Co Challenge Blog.
Donna from Bearly Mine Designs is sponsoring this challenge and therefore members of the Bearly Mine Design Team were asked if they wanted to make a card for the challenge.
Well what is the challenge you may ask?  The challenge is to "use your dies and/or punches".
For my card I have used a gorgeous Forever Friends stamp that I have got.  To add some dimension to the little bear I printed onto the back of some ribbed watercolour card so that when I coloured the image in with Promarkers the ribbing showed through.

For my card I have used Bearly Mine Designs papers from three different sets:  Christmas Traditions (I love Christmas papers but love the flexibility that a good number in this set can be used all year round), Gingham and Petunia Parade.  I have done some matting and layering including using some basic shape Spellbinders I won in some candy.  I have finished the card off with a Marianne Designs clock die which I have inked to match the colour scheme, lots of flowers cut out of the backing papers with a punch, Craftwork Cards sentiment, brads, ribbon bow and some pearls.

Make sure you pop on over to the Forever Friends Challenge Blog to have a look at the wonderful creations of the Design Team.

Delicious Doodles Challenge - 5 April 2013 - More than one fold

Another Friday has whizzed around and it's time for another challenge over at the Delicious Doodles Challenge Blog.  This week Vicky has challenged us to "more than one fold".
I um'd and ah'd at what to do and decided to go for a stepper rocker.  It took some while to get it to look right but I got there in the end.  For my card I have used the Delicious Doodles image called "Cruel Cruella".  I have coloured my image in with Promarkers and used blue Pan Pastel for the sky for a very light feeling.  I used some Summertime Designs papers and printed them straight onto my A4 card, using a gingham on the front and spots on the back.  Many people sell or give backing papers for people to use, some are 6x6, some are 8x8 but some like Summertime Designs which print A4.  This is brilliant when printing direct onto the card you want to use.  I have made some book flowers by die-cutting the flower shapes, colouring half of the layers with Tim Holtz's Fired Brick distress ink and my Inkylicious brush and the remainder with my Black Soot distress ink.  I have scrunched all the layers and held together with a Tim Holtz long brad - these are wonderful for things like this as I've used 12 layers per flower and normal brads wouldn't hold it.  I shall have to keep an eye out for some more of these longer brads.  I have finished the card off with a Craftwork Cards die-cut sentiment, raffia ribbon, flower buttons and my own homemade black-and-white spotty button to match the dalmatian (I used my black Promarker to add the dots to a white button).

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

For my card I have used the Crafts and Rubber rubber stamp called "Pink Lightning" by Jasmine Becket-Griffith.  I wanted to keep this card monochrome so apart from the skin I have kept the image to tones of purple/lilac.  I have coloured her in with my Promarkers and highlighted areas with my Sakura Stardust clear pen.

For my cards I have used the Bearly Mine Gingham, Happy Hauntings and Mini Dots backing papers.  I have done some simple matting and layering to follow the sketch.  I have used various scallop dies and a Cheery Lynn border die.  I have finished the card off with some buttons, ribbon and Craftwork cards die-cut sentiment.

It is time for another challenges over at Delicious Doodles and the challenges is "fairies" and it is time for Team B to show you their creations so please make sure you pop on over and have a look.
For my card I have used the Delicious Doodles image called "Gothic Fairy".  I have coloured the image in with my Promarkers and highlighted some areas with my Sakura Stardust clear pen and some Stickles glitter glue.  I had to take a deep long breath and brave breaking into some more of my Tim Holtz papers which my son bought me for Christmas 2011.  They are so yummy you just don't want to use them.  No doubt many of you will know what I mean.  I have distressed all the layers of paper/card with my Tim Holtz distressing tool and inked the edges with chalk ink pads.  Out of some of the scraps of paper I made the flowers using a Spellbinders Blossom die, scrunched them up, used a chalk ink pad around the edges and added a Tim Holtz brad to the centre.  I have finished the card off with some lace, ribbon, Craftwork cards die-cut sentiment and buttons.

This week we have another two great sponsors who are Crafty Sentiments and Teddy Bo.
This is is the prize that is on offer from Crafty Sentiments of this gorgeous little beauty.
Teddy Bo are offering three images from their store for the lucky winner.
For my card I have used the Teddy Bo image called "Scooter Bo".  Yes I know Teddy Bo is the boy bear but I like to have images that have multi uses and when a bear is all prepared on a scooter with a helmet who will know whether it is a boy or girl!!!  I have coloured the image in with Promarkers.  I then got a  scrap of material and then soaked it with the blender pen and dabbed it on the bear to make a fake fur effect.
For my card I have used the Bearly Mine Designs Spring Surprise and used various papers from this set including cutting one out for the stars.  The card has been finished off with some spotty ribbon, card candi, Craftwork Cards die-cut sentiment, lace and a ribbon bow.
