Recent Toodles and Binks Blog Candy

I recently entered the blog candy for Toodles and Binks and checked after the closing date and I wasn't lucky enough to be a winner.  Then I got a message from Kay to say I needed to look on the Toodles and Bink Blog for a message for me.  It turns out the winner of the blog candy already had a specific stamp so they kindly swapped it for the winner.  Instead of that being it, another name was picked by the random winner and guess whose name came up ........................... mine!!!  To say I was happy was an under-statement so I duly sent my details. 

Well this morning the postman brought little Amelie to me (along with something extra).  Well this bunny is soooooooo cute.  Yes it's by the side of Easter eggs but as many of you know I don't keep stamps seasonal so I will use it well before Easter by cutting the rabbit out.  Thank you so much Kay.  It has cheered me up no end.

Friday Sketchers - 1-5-09

Well I planned this card out the week-end and I've only just put it all together today - how terrible is that?  This card is for the Friday Sketchers Challenge Blog this week.  It's taken me ages to take a photo as I find mirror card so difficult.

Over at the Rainbow Lady's Challenge Blog the topic this week is four legged friends - no matter how big or small.  I hope this cat is PURRFECT for this challenge.  The template for the cat is from Colour my World.  The backing papers are from Colour my World CD and also some downloads/free papers from Funky Fairies Papercrafts.

Daisy and Dandelion Challenge 8 - 29/4/09

Over at the Daisy and Dandelion Challenge Blog, challenge 8 is for Razzle and Dazzle.  I have eventually used a piece of paper from my Daisy and Dandelion pad - they are sooooooooo nice that I didn't want to take any papers out - so I have been very brave!!!  I have used a mat I purchased as a download from Funky Fairies, made up the Daisy and Dandelion free decoupage sheet from the DoCrafts website, cut some flowers out to match from a Funky Hands Funky Daze CD and added large glittery gems to their centre and then been round the centre of the flowers to make them razzle and dazzle with the clear Sakura stardust pen.

Tanda Teaser 96 - Yellow and Blue - 29/4/09

Over at the Tanda Teaser Challenge Blog this weeks' topic is yellow and blue.  I have used some papers from Funky Fairies that I have downloaded and some decorative mats that I have bought.  On top is a Daisy and dandelion stamped image of Candyfloss which has been coloured in with Lyras and Sakura pens.  Embellishments are some yellow sequins. blue dots, a blue flower courtesy of Jak Heath and some doodling in blue and yellow completes the picture.

Whiff Of Joy Challenge - 29/4/09

Over at the Whiff of Joy Challenge Blog this week the topic is stars and stripes.  I thought I'd have a go at this challenge.  The backing papers are from my new Colour My World CD.  The image has been watercoloured with Lyras.

Some Sympathy Cards

I am still trying to clear the cards that are sitting on our dining room table ie which I've made up but not yet taken a photo of.  Must be that I've had some hours to myself that I am in clearing-up mode.  Here are a few cards I made for the cards to go to the Dog Show.  I know we all hate making sympathy cards but they are a necessity.

Card for Various Challenges

Over at the Creative Inspirations Challenge this time there is a recipe of 3 flowers, 2 buttons and ribbons/lace/fibres.

For the Digital Tuesday Challenge this week the topic was "April showers brings may flowers" so I decided to use a digital image from Charmed Cards and Craft as there was an umbrella and rain.  I used glossy accidents for the puddle and it looks nice enough to jump in!!!

The topic for A Spoonful of Sugar Challenge this week was blue and green.  I've lost count how many photos I have tried to take of this card either at the table, on the floor in the front room and in the darkened hallway.  The card is blue and green although it might not look like it.  I coloured the digital image in blue and green to match.

  

DOG Word Books

I know that this looks like I've been really busy today but those that know me know I can't do too much in one day because of my health but it sometimes looks like I've done a lot as it's maybe in one day I'll update blogger.  I then get messages/e-mails telling me not to make myself ill doing too much in one day so I PROMISE I haven't done too much!!!!

I decided to make a couple of DOG word books for the Dog Rescue.  I used Funky Hands Funky Daze CD for the word books.  The images are mainly from Joanna Sheen's CDs.  There are some images of my friend's dog as she gave me permission to use them.  I have also used some stamped images I was given but I have also stamped from Daisy and Dandelion images and also Messy Pooch from Joanna Sheen and coloured them with Lyra Watercolours, Watercolour Pencils and Sakura Pens.  I have left a little area on each for the sender to write a message.

 

Cards for Dog Rescue

I have had sooooo many cards half-made or even more than half-made but thankfully today/yesterday I have managed to get some time when everyone else has been out to put the finishing touches to them.  These two are dog cards that I have made using a Colour my World template for a dog.  I have used my Colour my World CD for some of the backing papers, the others came from my stash.  I was a bit slow at making these but they'll come easier with more practice.  I have screwed up some glue dots so that the googly eyes are more moveable than normal - they don't half look funny when you move the card around!!!  The CD didn't come with ready-made inserts so I imported the backing paper into My Craft Studio, kept either the bright stripe or spotted background on the left but then copied/pasted on the right and took down to 20% so it's very feint and then on the right hand side I added some text saying "Happy Birthday".

Dare U 2 Digi Stamp Challenge 5 - 30/4/09

Over at the Dare U 2 Digi Stamp Challenge Blog this week they have a sketch.  I have used my new Colour my World - It's a Man's World CD for the backing papers I have used.  The image is a digital download from Charmed Cards and Crafts.  Like me, there are many many husbands that will be their wives' hero so that's why there is a super hero on this card.  The image has been coloured in with Lyra Watercolours and also Watercolour Pencils.

Sharon Duncan Craft Discount Club

Each month as part of this club you get sent a newsletter and some papers to use on your cards which could either be decoupage, toppers, backing papers, t-bags etc.  This month it is a build-your-own flower with some lovely matching topper mounts and backing papers.  I have made these cards to go with the cards for the Dog Show as they can't ALL be animal cards!!!

Sharon Duncan's Craft Discount Club

Now I'm not sure where I've been in the last few years as I didn't know Sharon Duncan had a Craft Discount Club.  As soon as I realised the other day I had joined.  Yesterday I got my welcome CD which had lovely daisies on it in either pink, lilac, blue and peach.  Well which did I try first????  The lilac of course.  I used two different backing papers and then did a turned page effect on the.  I printed out some leaf inserts from the Crafter's Companion Flower Fairies CD to tie it all in together.  These cards are going in the box for the Dog Rescue as a variety of different cards is needed.

Cards for the Dog Rescue

I need to make cards for a lady who runs a Dog Rescue.  She is going to a Dog Show shortly and will try and sell some cards, thus in turn making cards to help the Dog Rescue out.  Here's another few I've made.  Please excuse the awful photos - I seem to go in peaks and troughs when I can/can't take a photo OK.  I think more practice is needed.

Card for Three Challenges

Well this card is a 3:1 challenge.  

At the Just Magnolia Challenge blog the topic this week is pink and green.  The main card has been printed with pink and green spots and despite the awful photo the holographic card is bright pink and not red.  Tilda has also been watercoloured with Watercolour Pencils in pink and green to match.

At the One Stop Craft Challenge Blog this week the topic is something new.  For this challenge I have used my very first new Tilda stamp.  I've been waiting and waiting as I wasn't totally sure about Tilda when she first came out but after seeing so many cards made with her and her friends I couldn't resist any longer.

Over at Kellie's Magnolia Challenge Blog the challenge this week is spot the dots.  You'll not miss my dots as the whole card is printed in a dotty pattern.  If you take a close look the holographic shocking pink card has a dotty background to it as well and to make sure of enough dots I have dotted around some round gems as well - then again I don't need an excuse to add gems to cards!!!!

Cards for Dog Rescue

I have offered to make some cards for a lady who runs a Dog Rescue.  She is going to a show in a few weeks' time and wants cards to take with her.  A lot of them I will do animal orientated - mainly dogs - but some I will do generalised.  Some I will take from the stash I have already but I have made a few already using a mix of Joanna Sheen CDs and Michelle Marsden CD.

Card for Various Challenges

Well, this month seems to have runaway with me and life seems to be taking over so this card has to fit a number of challenges.

For Rainbow Lady's Challenge Blog this week the topic is "B is for ........".  I had thought of the obvious birthday card but decided to use this digital download of Dottie as she has such gorgeous butterfly wings.

Dare U 2 Digi Stamp Challenge 4 had the topic of "things with wings" so the digital download of Dottie and her beautiful butterfly wings fitted into this challenge.

Over at The Papertake Weekly Challenge the topic is spots and stripes.  I have used dotty paper and a dotty flower courtesy of Jak Heath's downloads and of course "Dottie" herself is displaying a wonderful pair of stripey tights.

Over the My Time to Craft Challenge no 59 is black, white and another colour so for this one I chose the combination of black, white and PINK.

The Cute Daisy May Challenge this week is for gems.  Do I need an excuse to use gems on my cards ........... I think not!!!  I coloured the gems black with a Permapaque pen.

Dottie's World has the topic of a teenager this week.  I thought Dottie fitted the bill but decided to go with a more classy background of the spots etc as 13 year olds are getting to that certain age then and they don't what cute but they don't want grow-up either.  Hopefully I've got it just right.  Got to practice as my youngest will be 13 in September but he won't like this card!!!

Over at Our Creative Corner this week the challenge this week is favourite colour combination.  I do like anything to do with purple but I do like the combinations of black/white/red; black/white/pink and black/white/purple so I decided to go for black/white/pink.  Hope you like it.

Just Magnolia Challenge 2 - Friday 24/4/09

Over at the Just Magnolia Challenge Blog it is week 2.  I missed out on their first week but wanted to take part this week.  The topic is pink and green.  I decided not to use my "normal" tones of pink and green ie a darkish green and a baby pink - this card is made with a bright green and a salmon pink.  Certainly coming out of my comfort zone but that's why I wanted to take part in challenges to force me to do this.  Tilda has been coloured in with Lyra watercolours to match - it doesn't look like from the photo but the colour of her trousers matches the backing paper perfectly but after 20 takes of the photo I gave up trying to get a better match!!!
