It is time for another challenge over at Sweet Pea Stampers. This fortnight the challenge is "to use kraft paper or card on your card/project". Kraft paper is the typical brown card/paper that we see around Craft Land.
For my card I have used the Sweet Pea Stamps image by Ching-Chou Kuik called "Little Green". Using Ching-Chou Kuik's image "Little Green" which is available as a digital stamp, single rubber stamp and as part of a multi-image plate (Sheet 51, Plate 243 - Little Green is available on the multi-image sheet with Frost Twinkle, Red Rose and Scarlett Holly). I have coloured the digital stamp image in with Promarkers/Flexmarkers, highlighted areas with Pan Pastels and then inked around the edge with Tim Holtz's Brushed Corduroy.
I did have some kraft card. Why oh why is it nearly £2-3 dearer for a packet of 6x6 kraft cards/envelopes than normal one? I expect a bit more but not that much. I am always on the lookout for good buys. In addition to my kraft card I used kraft papers from my Polkadoodles Double Sprinkles of Kraft CD-Rom. This is a perfect CD if you want the look of kraft but not the extra cost.
I have edged all the papers with Tim Holtz's Brushed Corduroy along with the ribbled brown card die-cut and all the flowers cut from a sheet of the Polkadoodles backing paper. I have finished the card off with some gems, lace, Marianne Designs die-cut leaves (inked with Tim Holtz's Tumbled Glass distress ink), stamped sentiment, ribbons and button.

Hi Kym, You know I love this one.. Kraft is my favorite kind of papers to work with. And I do agree... it is expensive... I see you have a great solution for this to use the CD-rom for a krafty look... I love the colors together... Kraft can go any ways with colors... I think.. Big hugs.. Sylvia xxx

Hi, Kym! Well, you have managed to create another fabulous design! Your coloring is of course spot on and I think the choice of kraft paper was a wise one. I also think the blue highlights against the browns and tans was also a nice choice and help elevate the design. It is particularly effect in the framing of the image as it makes the bright colors pop even more! Thanks for dropping this off by our house at 613 Avenue Create!
