The Crafty Purple Frog - 3 March 2011

I was delighted to see that I had come second in a Crafty Purple Frog Challenge and got to pick some Crafty Purple Frog sheets as my prize.  I don't think there's many of the sheets now that I don't have in the decoupage format.  There are also pyromage sheets but I like to cut out the decoupage.  Click here to go and have a look at the wonderful sheets for sale.

Over at the Crafty Purple Frog the challenge this fortnight is "fly away with us".  I decided to use a sheet I printed off recently of the poinsettia fairy.  She's still one of my all time favourite sheets.  Her eyes are just so beautiful.  The backing papers are all scraps from my box and I haven't a clue where they are from.  The image has been decoupaged, I have highlighted areas with my Sakura Stardust clear pen and I have distressed the edges of the papers and image with a dark moss chalk ink pad.  One piece of paper I have put through my Swiss Dots embossing folder.  Embellishments include a doily which I have inked with the same dark moss chalk ink pad, ticket sentiment from Crafty Ann's Digi Store, thin lace which I tied like a ribbon, three pearl gems, spotty ribbon and finally a gorgeous poinsettia flower which I got in some candy last year and I need some therapy as this is the last one and they are all gone now boo hoo.

This card also fits the following challenges:

Top Tip Tuesday - Favourites - ribbon, lace, pearls/gems
Papertake Weekly - Anything goes
ABC Christmas - E is for embossing and embellishments
Flutter by Wednesday - Open theme
Papercrafting Journey - Things with wings
Craft us Crazy - Nature
Bah! Humbug - Embossing
Alphabet Challenge - R for ribbons
Totally Papercrafts - Pearls and lace
Fussy and Fancy Friday - Embossing and/or paper piecing
Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge - Embossing
Sentimental Sundays - Pearls and lace
Aly's Sunday - Anything goes
The Crafty Pad - Ribbon

Gorgeous gorgeous card. This is one of my favourite images - I have the stamp but I didn't know they could be printed out ready coloured. Hmm very handy.

Hi Kym,

I was at Leigh's and thought I would visit you - from one charity crafter to another... I make cards for charity, too so I was so happy to find another blogger with the same interest.

You make awesome cards - I love this one. The poinsettia looks stunning with this gorgeous image... The way you have combined deep red with poinsettia red is commendable.

I am a follower now and happily so,

Monica
