Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge - 8 June 2010

The challenge at The Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge this week is "floral delights".  I have made an 8 x 8 (oh I so love using this size of card now) Art Deco card using an image from My Craft Studio Deco Follies CD and decoupaged it.  The insert I have also done in My Craft Studio by fading out the image and I used a new font for me Baroque Script which I love for a more ornate font.  The card is finished off with some flowers with brads for the centres, pearls, sentiment off the computer and some fibres.

This card fits the following challenges:

Charisma Cardz - Flowers
Tuesday Taggers - All that blooms
Daring Cardmakers - Pearls
Tanda Teaser - Xtra Large
Creative Card Crew - Thank you.

Karen's Doodles UK - 2 June 2010

Well I am just about to catch this challenge before it closes.  My hairdresser when I saw her last wanted a very special card for her daughter's Prom this month.  I've had this card planned for weeks but in the end it didn't go down the avenue it was going ie a bigger card as I wasn't happy with my colouring of the image with Promarkers.  In the end I made the image smaller thus making it into an A5 card.  It's times like this with a gorgeous dress like this lady has I'd just like to be able to print onto a patterned paper like you can do with stamped images.  The challenge this week at Karen's Doodles UK Challenge is "Distress It".  The image is Karen's Doodles Beautiful Queen which I thought would be good for this Prom card.   I have used two backing papers from Jak Heath as I had no suitable purple patterned paper in my stash.  I have distressed all the paper edges and the image with Tim Holtz's Dusty Concord Distress Ink Pad.  The card is finished off with some gorgeous lace, Papermania Glitterations, two glittery bows, a sentiment off the computer and some organza ribbon.  Please excuse the photo - this is the best I could do no matter what angle I took it the flash didn't like the silver mirri card arhhhh....

This card also fits the following challenges:

Stamp Something - Digi challenge - digi image and backing papers
Cupcake Craft - Dazzle us
Pollycraft - Ribbon and bling
Whoopsi Daisy - Ribbon and bows
My Time to Craft - Xtra Special - this is a special card for my hairdresser to give to her daughter on her Prom night.

Fun at Fairy Knoll Sketch Challenge - Friday 4/6/10

Well it is challenge no 1 over at the Fun and Fairy Knoll Sketch Challenge (Fairy Knoll images are available here).  Good luck to the challenge blog and I'll look forward to seeing the creations from the Design Team.  I have followed the sketch and have used various snippets of paper from my stash which is depleting at a fast rate recently but that was what my New Year's Resolution was all about (for those of you that don't know, my New Year's Resolution was not to print off papers but use papers from my stash that I have bought or been given for my charity work.  Thus far this year the only papers I have printed off are for my Design Team role and commissioned cards - not bad eh considering we are just starting the sixth month of the year!!!).  I used a paper gingham ribbon, three different coloured card candy to match the spotty backing paper and a new stamp sentiment from Personal Impressions design by Paula Pasqual which I bought from Stamp Addicts at their Open Day recently.

This card also fits the following challenges:

Gingersnap Creations - Wings
Colour Create - Baby pink and pastel blue
Stamp Something - Digital challenge.

My Time to Craft Challenge - Tuesday 1/6/10

Over at the My Time to Craft Challenge this week the topic is "wild thing".  I have chosen a fun image from Andy Carolan of a giraffe pretending to be as brillaint a racing driver as Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton!!!  Obviously this is quite an apt card for a father for Father's Day - but then again I'd love it as I love Formula One!!!  I was asked to do a very simple card and this is what I came upon using the backing paper and the main image which I decoupaged once.  I've added a sentiment off the computer, some fibres and a charm and it was so well received from the customer.

This card will also fit the following challenges:

Creative Cottage - Father's Day
For Fun - Card for a man
Crafty Creations - Black, white and a splash of red
Simon Says - Father's Day/Male card
One Stitch at a Time - Boys to men.

Commissioned Card for my Son's Workplace

envelopeCard and envelope together

Yet another card was needed for my son's workplace.  It needed to be for 30-40 people to sign so needed to be 8x8 or A4.  I do like doing the bigger cards now.  This card is for a 20 year old and needed to be fairy orientated.  I'd only recently done a fairy one so this one was more difficult as it had to be totally different.  The images are from My Craft Studio Walk in Wonderland Cd (the first one) and I picked different images for the different pages and did some faux matting and layering in My Craft Studio but did add some gold mirri card as well to add a bit of sparkle.  The card is finished off with plenty of flowers, some paper/card and some fabric, gems, Papermania Glitterations and a very good dose of Sakura Stardust clear pen to accent flowers, fairy wings, hair, butterflies etc.

This card fits the following challenges:

The Pink Elephant - Gotta wear shades
Gingersnap Creations - Wings
Charisma Cardz - Flowers
Paperplay - Flowers and sparkle
Alphabet Challenge - F is for flowers
CD Sunday - Girl power.

Charity Stall June 2010

Yes another month has come around and it was time to set the monthly charity stall up.  My boys volunteered to do it so off they went yesterday afternoon.  The charity I have chosen this time is SENSE - Sense is the leading national charity that supports and campaigns for children and adults who are deafblind.  They provide expert advice and information as well as specialist services to deafblind people, their families, carers and the professionals who work with them.  They also support people who have sensory impairments with additional disabilities.

Crafty Ann's Challenge No 16 - Friday 4/6/10

Another fortnight has arrived and it is time for another challenge over at Crafty Ann's Challenge Blog.  The topic this fortnight is to use the colours of your flag.  Well as I am from England I have chosen the colours of the Union Jack ie red, white and blue.  Then was the hard decision on what to make as I don't put these colours together normally.  In the end I used Crafty Ann's cupcake image which I coloured in with Promarkers, Sakura Stardust clear pen and the cherry on the top has glossy accents on it to make it look shiny.  I have used Crafty Ann's embossed dots backing papers and the card is finished off with some blue ribbon, card candy and a Crafty Ann's ticket sentiment.  I shall be popping this card on my charity stall tomorrow.

This card also fits the following challenges:

Corrosive Challenge - Cooking or baking
Stamp Something  - Digi Stamp - used digital image and backing papers
Dare U 2 Digi Stamp - Red/white/blue - World Cup
For Fun Challenge - Card for a man

Sweet Pea Stampers Challenge - Monday 30/5/10

Over at the Sweet Pea Stampers this week the challenge is "a sprinkling of fairy dust".  Well for anyone that knows me that challenge is not easy as I don't do messy things so I have excelled myself and brought out my Stickles on the hat/gloves and dotted around the backing card.  I have also added Sakura Stardust clear to her hair and the moon.  I have coloured my new Sweet Pea Stamp image Misty Reflections with my Promarkers and distressed it with Tim Holtz's Black Soot and Dusty Concord Distress Ink pads.  I have finished the card with some die-cut shapes to match the backing card, layered up some punched acetate flowers and put a gem brad through the centre and it is all put together with some gorgeous organza ribbon.

Simon Says Challenge - Wednesday 2/6/10

Over at the Simon Says Challenge this week the topic is "Father's Day/Male card".  I have used some backing paper from my stash so I am not sure of the make.  I have used some motorbike toppers I was given by a Forum friend and there were two of the black bike so I cut it out and decoupaged it.  I'd so love to have a ride on that bike.  I have finished the card off with a die-cut shape, peel-off and a gorgeous motorbike charm.
