New Baby Grand-daughter

Here is a card I have made for the arrival of a baby grand-daughter for someone I know (please note - the card does not actually look like this - I have just erased the details of the baby's name/date of arrival/weight etc for privacy reasons).

The topper I have used is from a Special Occasions Hunkydory Little Book (I cannot see the actual Little Book I used on their website but there are plenty to choose from here).  I have used two of the toppers so that I could decoupage the image.

The backing papers I have used are from The Works.

I have finished the card off with some hearts cut from the backing paper, button, ribbon and fluffy fibres.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Gruffies and Guest Challenge Blog - May 2016 - Anything goes or the option of "baby"

Today it is time for me to show you another card for the Gruffies and Guests Challenge Blog.

The topic for May 2016 is "anything goes with the option of "baby".

As mentioned before there will be no sponsors for the Gruffies and Guests Challenge Blog in 2016.  Instead members of the Design Team will be offering prizes.

This month it is the turn of Silvia to sponsor the challenge.  She is offering the winner "a surprise box".  Now who wouldn't want to win that?
For my card I have used this gorgeous Happy Hoppers image from my Joanna Sheen Gruffies and Happy Hoppers CD.  I have used a backing paper and sentiment from the CD.

On some plain blue card I stamped various baby stamped images.

I have finished the card off with some "it's a boy" ribbon, metal feet and some fabric hearts.

Sweet Pea Stamps Variations Week - July 2013

This week is one of my favourite weeks on Sweet Pea Stamps.  It is Variations Week when the Design Team are given the same image to work with and come up with such varied cards/creations.  It's still amazing to be part of Variations Week now I am on the Design Team.  This month we were given the option of two different images:  Connie Fong's Mother and Baby Boy or Connie Fong's Mother and Baby Girl.  Both are available in either digital format or rubber stamps.
For my card I have coloured the image in with Promarkers, die-cut and inked the edges with a purple chalk ink pad.  I have kept the colour scheme to pink and purple as I chose the Mother Baby Girl option.  The backing papers are all from my stash.  I have used various Marianne Designs dies to mount the image on/use an embellishment.  I have also used a Spellbinders corner gold ie which I won in some candy.  I have finished the card off with some raffia ribbon, pink lace, heart die-cut stamped with "new baby" sentiment, buttons, brads and some flowers which I have swiped over with some Creative Expression guilding wax (be warned this stuff doesn't half smell.  It made me cough so much!!)

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Delicious Doodles Challenge - Friday 31 May 2013 - White-on-white

Another week has whizzed around and it's time for another challenge over at Delicious Doodles.  This week the challenge is "white-on-white".
Normally white-on-white challenges make me "run for the hills" but I got a pile of white card out and set to play.  Personally I think it's important when doing a white-on-white card is to use the same cardstock throughout as not many white cards are the same.  To get some texture and dimension I have used various embossing folders and dies and added some sparkle to the layers with Imagination Crafts Diamond Sparkle.  I used to use Stickles glitter glue for this but with this being an 8x8 card it would have used a good amount of a bottle.  With the Diamond Sparkle it looks like I've barely used anything and only had to get messy and glittery!!

The image that I have used for this card is by Delicious Doodles and is called "A Mother's Love".  It's such a gorgeous image.  I have coloured in with Promarkers and highlighted areas with my white gel pen.  The card has been finished off with some raffia ribbon, die-cut buttons and real buttons, sentiment off the computer and some seam binding ribbon.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

ABC Challenge - O for open
Simon Says - Anything goes
Crafting by Designs - Anything goes

Aud Sentiments Challenge - Thursday 9 May 2013 - Sentiment for Baby/Mother and Child

Today is the day for another challenge at the Aud Sentiments Challenge Blog.  This fortnight the topic is "sentiment for baby/sentiment for mother and child".
Our sponsor for this fortnight is "A Day for Daisies" who have a lovely selection of digital stamps and polymer stamps on their website.
I have used the A Day for Daisies image called "Bundle of Love" for both of the cards that I have made.  I decided to make a baby girl version and a baby boy version.  First up is the baby girl card I have made.  I have coloured the image in with Promarkers and then die-cut.

The backing papers I have used are Bearly Mine Designs Petunia Parade and Bearly Mine Designs Love Dreams.  I have used a heart shaped doily and inked the edges with a pink chalk ink pad.  The card has been finished off with a glittery flower, sentiment off the computer, seam binding ribbon bow and some pearls.
The baby boy card I have coloured the image in with my Promarkers, die-cut and gone around the edge with a blue chalk ink pad.

The backing papers I have chosen to use for this card are Bearly Mine Designs Floral Breeze and Bearly Mine Designs Mini Dots.  I have added a circular doily which I have used the same blue chalk ink pad around the edges.  The card has been finished off with some lace, paper flowers with brad centres, gems and sentiment off the computer.

I am entering these cards into the following challenges:

Baby Girl Card

This is a card I have made some gorgeous Forever Friends New Arrival backing papers.  The alphabet paper is all sparkly and glittery (but just a nightmare for the camera flash!!).  The image is a cutie from Lacy Sunshine and is called "Baby Lainey and Gabby" and at the moment is $1 in the Lacy Sunshine Store.  I have coloured the image with Promarkers and cut out.  Around the image I have used a See D's star stamp and Tim Holtz's Tattered Rose and Victorian Velvet distress ink pad.  I have added some googly eyes to Gabby - these were a nightmare to pick up even with tweezers!!  I have finished the card off with some crochet lace, baby girl cardboard sticker and some large pink pearls.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

New Baby Boy Card

Here is a new baby boy card I have made using the Kraftyhands Bouncing Babies CD.  I chose this gorgeous little baby boy image.  I printed off 3 sheets and made the image into decoupage.

The spotty backing paper is also from the CD along with the toppers that I have used to decorate the other pages of the card.  I've added some details of the baby and a verse.
Here is the back of the card as I always like to add something to the back.
As my husband is hand delivering the card and present I was able to decorate the envelope as well.
This is the present we bought.  Isn't it cute?
Guess who forgot to buy some wrapping paper?  I then used some brown wrapping paper and used some See D's stamps and Inkadinkadoo stamps to decorate the paper.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

New baby

This is a card I have made using a Delicious Doodles image called "A Mother's Love".  I have coloured the image with Promarkers.  The chevron backing paper I over-stamped little ducks using a See D's stamp and Tim Holtz's Spiced marmalade distress ink.  The glittery backing paper is from a Forever Friends paper pad and I have used an Inkylicious brush and Tim Holtz's Mustard Seed distress ink pad to turn the paper a glittery yellow.  The card has been finished off with flower from my stash including some ones with sparkly gems centres, little feet charms, stamped "new baby" from the See D's set, die-cut, ribbon and lace.

New Baby Cards

I needed to make a few more cards for the stall so I used this Stitchy Bear image called "Rub a Dub Dub".  I have coloured both images with my Promarkers and highlighted areas with my Sakura Stardust clear pen and put Glossy Accents over all the bubbles.

I have made one for a baby boy birth and one for a baby girl birth.  The backing papers are from a Forever Friends Baby Collection and some from my stash.  For the blue card I made a quilt effect on the top backing paper.  The card has been finished off with an "it's a boy" printed ribbon, faux stitching and some gems.  The pink card has a seriously glittery backing paper on top so I didn't want to detract from that so the card has been finished off with three brads, some spotty ribbon, some faux stitching and a sentiment off the computer.

I am entering these cards into the following challenges:

Passion for Promarkers - Lots of layers
Top Tip Tuesday - Sparkles galore (seriously glittery backing paper on the pink card)

Joanna Sheen Challenge - January 2012

Over at the Joanna Sheen Challenge this month the topic is celebrations.  I had to make a card for someone who has had a new baby girl come into their life recently.  I have used a gorgeous mother and baby image and decided therefore to go with a more shabby chic card.  I have used various card/paper from my stash.  I have used my new Marianne's Designs die that I got from Joanna's website and it is FAB.  Not only do you get the circle you get various sized shapes to make flowers with.  I have distressed the die-cut and all the paper with a dark brown chalk ink pad.  The card has been finished off some flowers, lace, congratulations die-cut sentiment and there is a small tab sentiment embellishment that has now gone on the front but until the recipient gets it I haven't put that picture on here as I've put the baby's name on it.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Top Tip Tuesday - Anything goes (TIP:  I store my Promarkers and some other pens in the Letraset wallets on my shelf in my craft tardis.  I keep the handle end closest to me but was forever opening up the wallets to see the colours inside.  Now I've attached pieces of fibres and ribbon to each handle indicating the colours of pens in the wallets eg this one has silver, gold, black, bright pinks and purples.  I cannot believe how much simpler this makes finding the right wallet)
After making this card I still had three toppers from the sheet leftover.  In 2010 I decided that I would not put unused toppers from a sheet in a drawer to be used at some stage and would instead use them to make up more Craft for Life cards for the Marie Curie Appeal.  This saves them not being used or getting dog-eared and needing to be thrown out.  It also increases the cards that I have given to the Marie Curie Appeal.  Here are another three cards ready to be taken into the shop when we are next in town.

Another New baby Card

Along with making a new baby card for the mum and dad I also made a card for the Nanny and Grand-dad.
This image I bought from Crafts U Print as soon as I heard the baby was going to be called Noah.  The sheet comes with a pink background image and the blue background image I used.  I printed off the blue image four times so I could do various layers of decoupage with my foam tape.  I struggled with the monkey's tail and the giraffe's necks but got there in the end!!!  I have just done some simple matting and layering as I didn't want to detract from the gorgeous image.  I used my Letraset Fineliner to write Noah Jon on the package the stork is delivering.  The card is then finished off with a seam binding bow and a personalised insert.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
