Sweet Pea Stamps Progressive Challenge Part 1 - Anything goes

It is time for another challenge over at the Sweet Pea Stamps Facebook Group.  If you enter Part 1 of the challenge you get a free image to use for the second part of the challenge.  You can still enter Part 2 without entering Part 1 but you would need to purchase the image that everyone is using from Sweet Pea Stamps.
For my Halloween card I have used the Sweet Pea Stamps image by Conie Fong called "Priscilla".  She is available as a digital stamp and a rubber stamp.  I have coloured my image in with my Promarkers and fussy cut around the edge.

For the trees background I used a Memory Box stencil called "Garden Birch Trees".  I secured the stencil and then used Dutch Doobadoo stencil paste through it, took the stencil off, sprinkled over some black glitter and left to dry.

The backing papers and card are from my stash.

I have finished the card off with some buttons, twin, scrunched up bat ribbon, sentiment from the computer, Tim Holtz Bigz die-cut flower (6 layers cut from a book and coloured with Tim Holtz's Spiced Marmalade and Black Soot distress ink and held together with a brad) and some Martha Stewart punched out bats.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

To a Fabulous Friend

Here is a bright and cheery card I have made for a female friend using a Ching-Chou Kuik image available from Sweet Pea Stamps called "Dragonflies" and is available as a digital stamp.  I have coloured the image in with my Promarkers, added Stickles glitter glue to the wings, added some pearl dots, tore around the image for some texture and inked with a chalk ink pad.

The backing papers I have used are all from my scraps box.  To add some more texture I have put two pieces of card through a Crafter's Companion Textures hessian and distress embossing folder and inked one with my Tim Holtz Squeezed Lemonade distress ink and the other with my Mustard Seed distress ink.

I have then used some pages from books leftover from my bookfolding creations and cut them out with my Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die.  I have inked half of them with my Tim Holtz Spiced Marmalade Distress ink and the others with my Mustard Seed distress ink.  Instead of curling the petals I have used a pair of tweezers and folded each petal in half.  Yes it took a while to do as there were 8 flower layers but it gave a nice spiky effect flower.  I alternated the layers between the orange and yellow and held together with a brad.

I have finished the card off with a Craftwork Cards sentiment, grosgrain ribbon, satin ribbon and some lace.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Sweet Pea Stamps Progressive Challenge Part 1 - Anything goes

Sweet Pea Stamps Progressive Challenge Part 2

It is time for the Sweet Pea Stamps Progressive Challenge Part 2.  If you entered Part 1 of the challenge you will have got this Sweet Pea Stamps image by Sandra Caldwell called "Queen of Wonder".  If you didn't take part in Part 1 of the challenge you can always go to Sweet Pea Stamps and purchase this image to take part.
I have to admit I struggled with what to make for this image but in the end I came up with a journal page.  I have coloured the image in with my Graph'it pens.
The backing papers and card embellishments I saved from somewhere over the years on my computer and it was before I used to do separate folders for each company so I apologise for not mentioning where these papers are from.

Bravely I wrote the sentiment out and edged with wiggly black lines and edged with a red Graph'it pen and then cut out.

I simply finished off this journal page with the cut out playing cards and some peel-off hearts as I need to keep the page quite flat in my journal book.

I am entering this journal page into the following challenges:

Sweet Pea Stamps Facebook Progressive Challenge Part 1

It is time for the Sweet Pea Stamps Facebook Progressive Challenge Part 1.  To take part in this you can use any Sweet Pea Stamps image and the topic of the challenge is "anything goes".
For my card I have used the Sweet Pea Stamps image by Enys Guerrero called "Steam Girl".  I have coloured the image in with Promarkers and then used a cog stamp from Visible Image with Versamark and added some blue frantage to add a bit of metal effect to coincide with the steampunk theme.

The backing papers I have used are from my stash and also some Wellington Bear papers I bought in the Colemans January sale 1.5 years ago.  I have used my Marianne Designs clock die and also my X-cut cog dies and cut out of some silver card so I apologise for the glare on the photos.  Underneath the image I have used a Tim Holtz cog embossing folder and inked over the edge the area with Tim Holtz's Stormy Sky distress ink.

The card has been finished off with some brads and a die-cut sentiment.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

It is time for the Sweet Pea Stamps Facebook Progressive Challenge Part 2.  If you entered Part 1 you got the Sweet Pea Stamps image by Karen Middleton called "Mushroom Fairie" for free to use for the challenge.  If you didn't enter Part 1 you can always purchase the image yourself from Sweet Pea Stamps.
For my card I have gone mainly for the colour scheme of red, gold and black/grey.  I have coloured the image in with my Graph'it pens.  I used two different See D's stamps for the grass area and used various pearlescent chalks for the background.

The backing papers were from my stash.  The flowery backing paper had white flowers so I coloured them in with my red Graph'it pens.

I have finished the card off with some cheesecloth, die-cut flowers, die-cut sentiment and butterfly (free from a magazine), satin ribbon and Papermania Glitterations (for the centres of the flowers).

Buckwell's Crafty Challenge - June 2015 - Things with wings

Today is 1 June and therefore time for another challenge over at the "Buckwells Crafty Challenge".  The challenge topic is "things with wings".  Some suggestions are fairies, angels, butterflies, birds, planes etc.

Our sponsor this month is Sweet Pea Stamps:
Over at Sweet Pea Stamps they have a wonderful array of digital stamps and rubber stamps.
I decided to make a twisted easel.  They are something different to make but I find a nightmare to photograph!!

For my card I have used the Sweet Pea Stamps digital image by Lemon Shortbread called "Bone Fairy".  It is also available as a rubber stamp.  Yes you can make it into a dark/Gothic style card but using different colours just shows you can make it into a very feminine card.  I have coloured the image in with my Promarkers and coloured the sky with two shades of blue, pink and yellow and pearlescent chalks.
The backing papers I have used are from my Creative Crafting World Perfect Papercrafting Companions CD and a freebie digital paper from Hunkydory.

I have finished the card off with die-cut sentiments, various die-cuts (swirls, butterflies (coloured with the same pearlescent chalks), birds and bird cage), raffia ribbon, some netting and some flowers made for me by a crafty friend in Canada.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

It is time for the Sweet Pea Stamps Facebook Progressive Challenge Part 2.  If you took part in Part 1 you would get the image free to use for Part 2.  If you didn't take part you can always head on over to the Sweet Pea Stamps Shop and purchase the image yourself.

I decided to use the free image this month that is by Sandra Caldwell and called "Steampunk Old Lady" and make it into a corner bookmark to highlight my next page to fold in my second book that I am bookfolding.
I have coloured the image in with my Promarkers, inked around the edge with Tim Holtz's Vintage Photo distress ink and then went around the whole backing with my gold metallic Pan Pastel to add some shimmer.
The backing papers were scraps from the scrap box.

I have finished the corner bookmark off with a tassel, brads and flowers from my Debbi Moore Steampunk  Double CD.

Wishing you a Magical Day Journal Page

Over at the Sweet Pea Stamps Facebook Group, Fernanda the DT Colourist shared a video of how she coloured background of images with chalks and challenged those that watch to have a go.
For my journal page I have used the Sweet Pea Stamps image by Karen Middleton called "Little Pink Fairie".  I have coloured my image in with Promarkers.  For the background I regularly use plain chalks, pearlescent chalks and Pan Pastels to make my backgrounds as I think they are more subtle than using inks/pens.  For my background I have used dark teal blue, teal blue, yellow and pink pearlescent chalks.  I prefer to blend my chalks in with a tiny corner of cotton wool pad to avoid oils from my hands or sometimes dirt from inks getting onto my project.
Here is a close-up of my image.  I used a clear sparkly Stickles glitter glue but can't understand why the wings have a bluey hue when it is a peachy colour below whereas the yellow/green butterfly still looks OK.

The backing papers I have used are Creative Crafting World Mix and Match CD.

I have finished the journal page off with some doilies coloured with the chalks, die-cut sentiment, washi tape, pearls and some die-cut butterflies with chalk on them.

I am entering this journal page into the following challenges:

Aud Sentiments - Things with wings
Crafty Calendar - Things with wings
Glitter n Sparkle - Anything goes
Robyn's Fetish - Anything but a card
Lil Patch of Crafty Friends - Anything goes
Sweet Pea Stamps Facebook Group - Chalking background
