Home Bookfolding Project

Here is another bookfolding project I have made.  This time I have used two Debbi Moore CDs - one for the bookfolding pattern and the other was the Shabby Chic Garden CD for the toppers, sentiments and flowers.
After I had done the bookfolding I painted two coats of gesso onto the front, back spine and inside the book.  I then used various Crafter's Companion Texture Stamps with a toffee, smoky grey and sepai Versafine ink pad to cover over the spine and both sides of the book.  Then I had an idea to use my Indigo Blu flitter glue and guilding flakes which I have had for a few years now.  Unfortunately I think the glue isn't working as it should as all I seemed to do was get in a great mess and very little guilding flakes stayed on the book.  I then decided to use Versamark ink pad and then put over some Debbi Moore brown embossing powder.  This worked but there was still some residual feeling of stickiness so out came my Crafter's Companion Sparkle and Shine.  I made sure I stood outside as these sprays make me cough and cough.
Next came the time for me to add the toppers from the CD and the sentiments.
I then cut out a number of the flowers, inked around the edges and then added some pearl drops to the centre.  I have finished the decorated book with some ribbon and then wrapped it up in cellophane to give as a present.

I am entering this bookfolding project into the following challenges:

Create and Inspire - Anything goes
Word Art Wednesday - Anything goes
Inspiration Destination - Anything goes
Creative Fingers - Anything goes
Fussy and Fancy Friday - Flowers
Simply Papercraft Challenge - Anything goes
Your Scrapbook Place - Anything goes
Creative Craft Cottage - Anything goes
613 Avenue Create - Anything goes with option of RAK

Ching-Chou Kuik's Digital Stamps Monthly Challenge Blog - Kym's Inspiration Post - Monday 2 November 2015

It is time for me to show you my Inspiration Post for the Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Monthly Challenge Blog.

Before I do I'd like to remind you that our challenge this month is "Christmas".
For my Christmas card I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik image called "Gingerbread Man Parade".  I have always had a dislike of gingerbread people but I couldn't resist using this stunning image.  I have coloured the image in with Promarkers, chalked the background and edged the image with Tim Holtz's Chipped Sapphire distress ink.

I have made my own backing paper.  I added colours of ink (Tim Holtz Tumbled Glass, Chipped Sapphire, Broken China and Faded Jeans) onto a piece of watercolour card.  I then spritzed with water and added table salt and left to dry overnight.  I then brushed with an anti-static pad and then stamped with Versafine and some snowflake stamps and embossed with white embossing powder.  I then added some frantage in areas.

I die-cut some snowflakes out some of the extra background I made.

The card has been finished off with some ribbon, die-cut snowflakes, sentiment and buttons.

I am entering this Christmas card into the following challenges:

Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Facebook Group Monthly Challenge - November 2015 - All creatures great and small

Today sees the start of another challenge over at the Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Facebook Group and time for you to see creations from the Facebook Design Team.

The challenge for November 2015 is "all creatures great and small".

I know I am part of the Blog Design Team but I have decided to play along as well.
For my birthday card I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik digital stamp called "Awake in Purple Dream" and I have coloured my image in with my Promarkers.

I decided not to use backing papers and instead used a piece of watercolour card and rubbed on Shaded Lilac, Dusty Concord and Milled Lavender Tim Holtz distress inks covering the whole card and then spritzed with water and then left for about a minute and blotted off some colour and left to dry.  I then used a flower and harlequin stencil and inked through with my Dusty Concord distress ink.  I then put the card through my Embossalicious large dots embossing folder and then sanded back to reveal some of the white core.

I have finished the card off with a doily, raffia ribbon, Craftwork Cards die-cut sentiment, Britannia die-cut flowers (I've got the smallest set of these but definitely need the other two so I can make beautiful flowers) and Nuvo crystal drops in the centre of the flowers and the dots of the embossing folder.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Simon Says Challenge - Anything goes
Crafty Gals Corner - Anything goes
Penny's Paper Challenge - Anything goes
Ruby's Rainbow - Birds of a feather

Delicious Doodles Challenge - November 2015 - Take out your teeth!!!

Today sees the start of the second challenge over at the Delicious Doodles Challenge Blog.
Teri's images can now be found in the Delicious Doodles Etsy Shop.

The challenge for November 2015 is "take your teeth out!!!".  Obviously this could mean a scary image with teeth or it could just be any image where teeth are shown.  Come on, why don't you join in?
For my card I have used Teri's image called the "Evil Snowman".  I have coloured the image in with my Promarkers and chalked around the edge.

The backing papers are from Summertime Designs.

As I thought this card would be perfect for a teenager at Christmas I have kept the embellishments to a bare minimum and just added some organza ribbon, card candi and a Craftwork Cards die-cut sentiment (it does say "Christmas kisses" but I'm not sure I'd want a kiss from this snowman!!)

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Simon Says Challenge - Anything goes
Penny's Paper Challenge - Anything goes
Creative Moments - Anything goes
Inspiration Destination - Anything goes
Crafty Ribbons - Snowman
4 Crafty Chicks - Anything goes

Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Inspiration and Challenge Blog - November 2015 Challenge - Christmas

Today sees the start of another challenge over at the Ching-Chou Kuik's Digital Stamps Monthly Challenge Blog.

This month the challenge is "Christmas".

To take part you do not have to use a Ching-Chou Kuik digital stamp but we all do love to see them being used.

If you do use a Ching-Chou Kuik image from her Etsy store you can enter the challenge twice, thus giving you two chances of winning.

It also means that you could be "in the running" of winning the Artist Choice Award where Ching-Chou Kuik herself looks at all the entries using an image from her Etsy Store and the winner gets to pick 5 images free from the Etsy Store as their prize.
Here is a sneak peak of my card that you will see on my blog tomorrow.  For my card I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik digital stamp called "Gingerbread Man Parade".

It would be lovely if you could play along with the challenge this month.
