Gruffies and Guests Challenge - August 2014 - Anything goes with the option "one for the boys"

Here is a card I made before my surgery.

We are now half way through the month at the Gruffies and Guests Challenge Blog.

The topic for July 2014 is "anything goes with the option of "one for the boys".  This topic was chosen by me this month and I have the difficult task of picking the Top 3.

This month the sponsor for the Gruffies and Guests Challenge is the "Petal U" and the lucky winner gets a £10 lucky dip.
I have lived in a male orientated house being married and having two sons (one son moved out in 2012) but over the years I have always struggled to find decent male cards and that is one reason that made me starting to make my own.

For my card I have used a Joanna Sheen decoupage sheet.  This is my favourite sheet out of the Gruffies set and that's why it's taken me a long while to use it up.  I have decoupaged up the image.
The backing papers I have used are Bearly Mine Designs Krafty Wishes and plain blue card.

I have finished the card off with a die-cut sentiment, ribbon twine made into a decorative bow, decorative paper clips, card candi, stars cut from a Debbi Moore inspiration magazine, sentiment stamped onto a Debbi Moore sentiment strip, gold ribbon and a sentiment from the Polkadoodles Pretty Tuff CD.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
