Sweet Pea Stampers Challenge - November 2012 - Make a gift

Today sees the start of another challenge over at the Sweet Pea Stampers Challenge Blog.  This month the topic is "a gift".
Remember that there are two winners each month.  One is picked by Random.Org and the other is picked by the Design Team.  The stamp for each of the winners is donated by Sweet Pea Stamps.  It's a good time at the moment to pop on over to the Sweet Pea Stamps Shop as they have a sale on and some wonderful bargains.  They have also started selling digital images so these are a bonus for people who just can't wait for the post to come!!!

Just to reiterate the rules for the Sweet Pea Stampers Challenge:

  • Please use a stamped image on your project you MAY use a digi stamp.
  • Please DO NOT link back to old projects- only new cards and project are considered for the prize.
  • Although we would love you to only use Sweet Pea images it is not compulsory.
  • Please do not enter the challenge more than 3 times.
I decided to turn a boring white canvas into an altered calendar for 2013.  I normally would start off using distress inks on the canvas but I always struggled to get a good coverage.  Instead I tried my Pan Pastels and how easyyyyyyyyy was it to cover the canvas.  The image I have used is "Purple Comfort" by Ching-Chou Kuik and is available at Sweet Pea Stamps and if you hurry it is one of the stamps in the sale and is down to $2.00.  I have coloured the image with my Promarkers, distressed the edges and inked with a chalk ink pad, highlighted areas of the image with my Sakura Stardust clear pen and finally added some waves of clouds with my purple Pan Pastel and some paper torn with a tearing ruler.

The backing papers I have used are Bearly Mine Designs Mini Dots and Bearly Mine Designs Floral Breeze.  The calendar has been finished off with various flowers, a gorgeous glittery feather, calendar tab, flowers with Stickles added for some extra sparkle, ribbon bow, pins, Tonic die-cut daisy shape and some gems.

I am entering this canvas calendar into the following challenges:

Sweet Pea Stamps - Show us your blog!
Sweet Stampin' - All that glitters
Crazy 4 Challenge - Anything but a card
The Crafty Pad - Anything goes
Pile it On - Make it sparkle
