Ching-Chou Kuik's Digital Stamps Monthly Challenge Blog - Kym's Inspiration Post - Friday 12 February 2016

For this week the whole Design Team were challenged to "use at least 2 ribbons".

I decided to make a 3D project this week.  I had used a pattern from a Debbi Moore Bookfolding Magazine and made a gnome/pixie/fairy house.  It took a while to do the bookfolding and then I inked the pages with Tim Holtz's Gathered Twigs distress ink.  I then used some wood effect card that I got for Christmas from a friend to make the front door.

For my project I have used the Chou Kuik image called "Toadstool Head" and coloured her in with Promarkers and used Stickles glitter glue for her fairy wings as fairies have to sparkle don't they?

I have used various shades of brown papers by Summertime Designs and printed them onto lightweight card.  I have printed the backs of the paper as well as I hate to see 3D handmade flowers with plain white behind.  I have used my Sue Wilson Camellia Complete Petals die for the flowers.  I have shaped all the flowers with my new Tonic flower shaping tool.  I've normally "made do" with a Glitter Girls embossing tool but the new Tonic one which I got with some Christmas vouchers for Colemans is so much better even for the smaller flowers.  I have used some Marianne Designs greenery dies as a backdrop to the flowers.  I add some liquid pearls to the centre of some of the flowers and some white sparkly Nuvo crystals to the other.

I have finished this project off with the flowers, die-cut butterflies, 3 different spotty ribbons and then made a large bow with some brown seam binding and some gold bead effect ribbon.

Ching-Chou Kuik's Digital Stamps Inspiration Post - Friday 5 February 2016

It is time for me to show you my Inspiration Post for the Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Monthly Challenge Blog.

Before I do I'd like to remind you that our challenge this month is "LOVE".

For this project I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik image called "Red Hearts" (this image comes in a set of 4 images for the amazing price of £8.46).  I coloured the image in with my Promarker pens.

I decided to do a mixed media project.  I cut some corrugated card into a heart shape, painted with gesso and went around the whole heart with Tim Holtz's Fired Brick, Festive Berries, Aged Mahogany and Black Soot distress inks.

I then pierced two holes in it, one at the top and one at the bottom.  At the top I threaded through some ribbon to hang the project.  At the bottoms I used jewellery thread and some beads I bought from my sister many years ago and threaded this through the hole in the heart and secured.

I have used strips of backing paper from Carta Bella.

I have finished this project of with the beads, ribbon, button, stamped sentiment (which was a freebie from a magazine last year), cheesecloth and a Creative Expressions zip embellishment.

Jade's Sparkling Butterflies Challenge - Thursday 4 February 2016 - Fantasy

It is time for another challenge over at Jade's Sparkling Butterflies Challenge Blog.

The challenge for this fortnight is "fantasy".

Our sponsor for this fortnight's challenge is "A Day for Daisies".  The lucky winner will get to pick 3 digital stamps of their choice.

For my card I have used the A Day for Daisies imaged called "holding a flower".  I thought this image would be perfect for a birthday or even for Mother's Day.  I have coloured my image with my Promarkers and chalked the background.  I have used my Wink of Stella clear pen to add sparkle to the fairy's wings and for a bit of shine on the leaves.

The backing papers are a free download from the Hunkydory Club.

I have used some scraps of the backing paper and some of the card to punch out tiny little flowers and added them to the corner of the card and added Nuvo crystal drops to the centre.

I have been really lucky recently and won two challenges where the prize was a £10 spend at Crafty Ribbons.  Needless to say it took me a long time to pick what I was going to have as I lovvvvvvvve ribbon and lace.  I have to stay all the quality of everything I have received is wonderful.  For my card I have used some of their lupin lace, wide white organza ribbon and some really stunning vintage print organza.

The card has been finished off with some butterflies cut from the backing paper, gems and a button.

'Tis the Season

I need to keep on with making Christmas cards every month ready for Christmas 2016. 

Here is a card I have made using my Crafter's Companion Makey Bakey Mice Christmas CD.  I have used a topper sheet and also these gorgeous green and red muted colour papers.

Sadly due to postage costs being so high this is a Christmas card that will need to be posted so I need to keep as flat as possible.  I have finished the card off with some organza ribbon, sentiment from a Creative Crafting World CD, card candi and for realism I have added some white Nuvo drops to the brandy sauce on top of the Christmas pudding.

Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Facebook Group Challenge - February 2016 - Romance

It is time for another challenge over at the Ching-Chou Kuik's Digital Stamps Facebook Group.

The challenge for February is "ROMANCE".

I know I am not on Facebook Design Team but I have made a card for the challenge.

I have seen this Teepee card made a few times in Blogland and thought I would have a go.  Things didn't go to plan and it nearly went in the bin 3 times but persistence paid off in the end!!

For my card I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik image called "Key of Love" and have coloured my image in with Promarkers. 

I have finished the card off with some new ribbon, doily, stamped sentiment (I've had for years but can't remember the make), a gorgeous flower from my crafty friend Nataliya and some silver squidgy hearts which I've had for maybe 4-5 years.

Delicious Doodles Challenge - February 2016 - Love

It's time for another challenge over at the Delicious Doodles Challenge Blog.  

The topic for February 2016 is LOVE".

For my card I have used the Delicious Doodles image called "Beautiful Swimming Seahorses" and have coloured the image in with my Promarkers, chalked the background, tore around the image, used a chalk inkpad around the torn edge to highlight it and added some Nuvo crystal drops for some sparkle onto the bubbles.

The backing papers are from my Crafty Individuals Seaside collection.

I have finished the card off to a more manly feel and have added some netting, shells we got of various beaches when away last year and a sentiment given with a freebie by Tracy Wray along with some papers.

Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Inspiration and Challenge Blog - February 2016 Challenge - Love

Today sees the start of another challenge over at the Ching-Chou Kuik's Digital Stamps Monthly Challenge Blog.

This month the challenge is "LOVE".

To take part you do not have to use a Ching-Chou Kuik digital stamp but we all do love to see them being used.

If you do use a Ching-Chou Kuik image from her Etsy store you can enter the challenge twice, thus giving you two chances of winning.

It also means that you could be "in the running" of winning the Artist Choice Award where Ching-Chou Kuik herself looks at all the entries using an image from her Etsy Store and the winner gets to pick 5 images free from the Etsy Store as their prize.
