Thinking of You Card

The whole world has been tinged with sadness over the deaths that took place at Sandy Nook Elementary School in Newtown in the USA last week.

Teri, from Delicious Doodles, has designed this freebie called "weeping angel" in memory of those that lost their lives that day. Teri has also added an address on her blog where cards can be sent so this is where this card will be off to.

I have coloured the image with Promarkers and used backing papers from Bearly Mine Designs, Gingham and Mini Dots.

  

The card has been finished off with flowers made from the backing papers, twine, lace, pearls and a Craftwork Cards sentiment.

RIP to the staff and children that lost their lives that day.

Birthday Card

Please accept my apologies for my blurry photo.  I think I've pressed something on the camera and don't know what and need to wait for my son to look at it when he's next over on Christmas Day.

This is a card made with a Sweet Pea Stamps digital image called "Serenity" by Concetta Kilmer.  The image has been coloured in with Promarkers and areas highlighted with my Sakura Stardust clear pen and white gel pen.  The backing papers I was given so I am unsure of the make.  I have distressed all of the edges.  The card has been finished off with a Marianne's Designs die-cut corner which I have distressed with Tim Holtz's Milled Lavender distress ink pad, lace, pearls, fabric flowers and sparkly brad.

Aud Sentiments Challenge - 20 December 2012 - Use any sentiments

Here is the last challenge for the Aud Sentiments Challenge Blog for 2012.  This time the challenge is to "use any sentiment" - a nice and easy challenge for this time of year.  We had a lovely selection of crafters apply to be on the Aud Sentiments Challenge Blog Design Team and the results will be available very very soon.

For our last challenge of 2012 we are lucky to be sponsored by My Heart Pieces.

As I have said before I now print off two images for challenge is case I make a boo-boo.  Thankfully this time both images survived and I have made two cards with the same image by My Heart Pieces called "Eli".  Both images have been coloured in with Promarkers and die-cut with different dies.  The backing papers were given to me last year so I don't know the make.  I have used a Marinanne's Designs die-cut shape which I have inked with a chalk ink pad.  The top card has been finished off with a Craftwork Cards die-cut sentiment, acrylic paint dots around the image, two crochet flowers made by a friend and a die-cut flower shape.

The bottom card has been finished off with some acrylic paint dots, Craftwork Cards die-cut sentiment and some resin flowers.

Special Christmas Card

Here is a special Christmas card and box I have made using images from a Debbi Moore magazine from earlier in the year and the Debbi Moore Victorian Christmas CD for someone very special.

I decided to make a concertina card and the lady on the front is from the CD and has Crafter's Companion Irridescent Spray on her.  The flowers were white but I coloured blue to match the papers and added some buttons, memory wire, Papermania Glitterations, glittery bow and sentiment off the sheet.

This is the first of the two pages and the green sheet has been finished off with a sentiment, flowers, Papermania Glitterations and brads.

The red page has been finished off with with Papermania Glitterations and a poinsettia image from one of the sheets.  The gold page has been finished off with Papermania Glitterations.

The blue page is left for the message.  The green page with the rather dashing gentlemen is finished off with some Papermania Glitterations.

Card Crafter's Circle - Friday 14 December 2012

Over at the Card Crafter's Circle this week the topic is "red, white and green" so I thought this card I made with "Christina" who is a gorgeous image from Teri at Delicious Doodles would fit the bill.  The image has been coloured in with Promarkers and areas highlighted with my Sakura Stardust clear pen and Stickles glitter glue.  I have used an embossing folder for the front of the card and distressed with a sanding block, added some cheesecloth, Marianne's Designs die-cut which I have inked through the die, Craftwork Cards sentiment and some poinsettias cut out of some backing papers I was given.

Bearly Mine Challenges - 18 December 2012 - Winter Birthdays

Today sees the start of the last challenge for 2012 for the Bearly Mine Challenge Blog.  This time the topic is "winter birthdays".

 

The challenge this time is being sponsored by our very own Leader Donna and the winner will get to pick 2 digi sets of their choice.

This is the card that I have made for my sister-in-law's birthday on 28 December.  It must be hard for people having birthdays in the week before and after Christmas so I always make sure I go a bit over-the-top with her card to make it special.  I have used Bearly Mine Designs Christmas Light, Bearly Mine Designs Gingham and Bearly Mine Designs Mini Dots backing papers for this stepper card.

  

 

The images I have used are freebies from the Debbi Moore website as I have decorated the inside of the stepper to match the outside and used the smaller images inside.  The main image I cut around and layered and out came the glue pen and glitter.  This reminds me of why I dislike using glitter like this as I struggled getting the leftover glitter back into the pot - I think I'll stick with Stickles in future!!  The flowers I die-cut from the same papers and add brad centres to the middle.  I have added such a soft feather I was bought for Christmas last year.  They were too nice to use so I have had to keep them for a while.  Just wish I knew where they had come from as I'd love some more.  I have finished the card off with a Craftwork Cards sentiment.

Let it snow

This is a non-traditional colour scheme for a Christmas card - green, purple and blue.  I really struggle with blue for Christmas as I am a green and red kind of Christmas girl but I decided to go further.  I have used an image from a Dilly Bean Stamps collage sheet and just coloured over the red heart with a purple Promarker.  I have used various papers from my stash and also a paper from Bearly Mine Designs Summer's Lace Dreams.

I have made the flowers to match with remnants of the three backing papers and held together with brads.  The checked backing paper is a scrap I had.  I have torn some white card to resemble mounds of snow and edged it with Stickles glitter glue for some sparkle and shine.  The card has been finished off with a Craftwork Cards sentiment, Marianne Designs die-cut, glitter snowflakes and some gems.

2013 Calendar

 

This is a two-sided calendar I have made for 2013 using Bearly Mine Designs Festive Fun and Bearly Mine Designs Mini Dots papers.

  

Both images are by Teri at Delicious Doodles.  The first image is called "Thorne" and the second image is called "Steampunk Sally".  I coloured both images in with my Promarkers.  The backing papers were all layered up and I put on some Imagination Crafts Diamond Sparkle Medium with my fingers (yuk!!) to add some texture, sparkle and shine.  The chipboard brackets and other bits and pieces I've had for 1-2 years so I thought it was about time to use them up so I coloured with a Promarker to match the colour scheme.  The small pieces I stamped with a Papermania Urban ticket stamp and also added this to the background for the steampunk image.

The first side of the calendar, Thorne, has been finished lots of gems, homemade felt flowers with brad centres, calendar tab, various Marianne Designs die-cuts, Cheery Lynn Designs die-cut border, ribbon and lots and lots of gems.

The second side of the calendar, Steampunk Sally, has been finished off with various chipboard embellishments, Spellbinders die-cut masked with a metal effect mask, calendar tab and metal screw-head brads.

Sweet Pea Stampers Challenge - 14 December 2012 - Quick and Easy Christmas Card

Today sees the final challenge of the year over at the Sweet Pea Stampers Challenge Blog.  The topic for this month is a "quick and easy Christmas card" - and we do mean "quick and easy" and not ones that have taken hours and hours to make as we are always on the hunt for last minute quick cards.

The longest part of these two cards was the colouring of the Ching Chou-Kuik "Holly Fairy" Sweet Pea stamp (and if you like her too she's on SALE at Sweet Pea Stamps for $2.88 at the moment!!). She is one of my favourite Christmas stamps ever.  I have coloured both with Promarkers and torn around the edges and edged with a chalk ink pad.  I have done some simple matting and layering using some papers I was given last year.  The top card has been finished off with some die-cut holly, gems, doily and a die-cut sentiment.

The second card has been finished off with some Crafty Ann's poinsettias, doily, gems and a die-cut sentiment.

White-on-white Christmas

This is a white-on-white card made with a sentiment embossing folder where I've highlighted the embossing with my Sakura Stardust clear pen.  I have used the same card in other embossing folders and dies and edged all the pieces with Stickles glitter glue for some Christmas sparkle.  The image is by the talented Rick St Dennis and I have coloured in with my trusty Promarkers and fussy cut.  The card has been finished off with some card candi and a white ribbon bow.
