Ching-Chou Kuik's Digital Stamps Inspiration Post - Friday 8 September 2017

  Here is my weekly inspiration post for the Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Monthly Challenge Blog. 

Before I do I'd like to remind you that our challenge this month is "FALL/FALL COLOURS/PUMPKINS".

Here is my inspiration post with this theme.

 For my card I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik digital stamp called "The Perfect Pumpkin".  I have coloured my image in with Promarkers and edged around the image with Tim Holtz's Rusty Hinge distress ink.

The backing papers are from my stash.

I have finished the card off with a stamped sentiment, gems, spider's web die-cuts to sit under the flow, a die-cut flower cut out of a book and coloured with Tim Holtz's Rusty Hinge and Vintage Photo distress inks and the layers held together with a brad.

As it is our third birthday there will not be just one Monthly Challenge Winner but THREE Monthly Challenge Winners as well as the Artist Choice Award Winner picked by Ching-Chou Kuik herself.

It would be lovely to see you taking part in our challenge in September with the topic of "FALL/FALL COLOURS/PUMPKINS" but make sure you pop back in October for the 3rd anniversary celebrations.

Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Facebook Group September 2017 Challenge - Once Upon a Time

 Today is the start of the Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Facebook Group Monthly Challenge.

The topic for the challenge this month is "ONCE UPON A TIME" eg inspired by a story.

I decided to play along with their challenge this month.

 Please excuse my photograph.  I had to take it on my phone as my digital camera was playing up.  Hubby has thankfully sorted it out for me.

For my Alice in Wonderland inspired card I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik digital stamp called "Mad Tea Party" and I have coloured the image in with my Promarkers and highlighted areas with Spectrum Noir pencils.  I have added Glossy Accents to the cats' eyes and the drink in the cup.

I decided I'd used the words "I'm late, I'm late, for a very important date, no time to say hello, good-bye, I'm late, I'm late, I'm late" and make a belated birthday card.  Not that I ever need belated birthday cards - I tend to work the opposite way and recipients might get the tease of a card arriving 3-4 weeks before their birthday!!

I have used backing papers from some Debbi Moore Inspiration Magazines.  I like the way that they have done their magazines now.  I know a lot of people don't like things double-sided and I didn't think I would at first.  Now I do as often there may be toppers I might just not use but now on the flip side there is a backing paper which I can use.  I cut all the pages of toppers/backing papers out of the magazine and keep the toppers I will use.  Then I put all the backing papers in plastic wallets in colour families and I always look in these wallets before printing off backing papers of CDs thus making full use of the toppers and backing papers from the magazine.

I used my Tim Holtz Sizzix clock embossing folder and ran it through my Grand Calibur using some purple card.  I wanted to highlight the clock so I used my new Imagination Crafts Starlight Wax in White Gold.  I have tried Pebeo and Creative Expressions gilding waxes but I've had to give them away as their smell makes me cough and cough and cough.  This though has no smell and was perfect.  I just put a bit on my glass mat and used my finger over the card to get a good coverage.  Perfect.  Just need to add some more of the colours onto my wish list!!

I have finished the card off with some ribbon, computer generated sentiment, gems, twine and two stamped watches, fussy cut, stuck together and Glossy Accents added to the front one to replicate the glass of a pocket watch.

Lemon Shortbread Bouquet for You Fairy

I saw that over on the Lemon Shortbread Challenge Blog they are having a DT call.  I first came across Lemon Shortbread's gorgeous images when I was on the Sweet Pea Stamps and Sweet Pea Stampers Design Team.  There are so many gorgeous images to choose from in the Etsy Store.

I have decided to try out for the Design Team as I would love to work on another Design Team.  I know lots of people get on Design Teams and take on too much and therefore soon have to leave when things get tough.  Being part of a Design Team I give 100% and have never missed a deadline on any of the Design Teams I have worked on over the years.  I am used to working for Design Teams via blogs and also via Facebook.  I am used to working on a rota for commenting and avidly do this on all Design Teams as I feel this is a very important part of DT role as it gives entrants encourage that someone has looked at what they have spent time creating and can possibly lead them to enter the challenge more often and possibly buy more images.

As I am applying for the Design Team I decided that I would make a card specially for the occasion.  I have used the Lemon Shortbread image called "Bouquet for you Fairy".

I have coloured my image in with Promarkers and highlighted areas with my Crafter's Companion clear overlay sparkle pen as a fairy is not a fairy without some sparkle is it?  I then fussy cut the image out.

The papers I have used are from the First Edition Love Letters.  I have used various papers from the pad for matting and layering, die-cut some out for the image to sit on and then used one of the backing papers to cut out the flowers.

I have finished this card off with some organza ribbon, grosgrain ribbon, stamped sentiment, die-cut greenery coloured in with my Promarkers and then added Viva pearl pen to the centre of the flowers.

Well I shall have to keep my fingers and toes crossed to see if I get picked for the Design Team.  Here's hoping.

Happy 50th Birthday to a Very Special Brother

 My brother-in-law is celebrating his 50th birthday at the end of September but he had his party last night.  This is the card I made for him.

 I have used various toppers, backing papers, embellishments from Debbi Moore's Shabby Chic Garden CD and Debbi Moore's Garden Decoupage in-a-box CD.

 I made a large A4 gatefold card and with the shed on the front I made a shaker card with little "50" numbers inside.

 Here is the back of the card with various decoupaged images.

Inside the card is the verse and I also used velcro to attach four seeds of flowers to be used in his garden next year.

This card took weeks and weeks on-and-off to make as I wasn't sure what to put inside until I had the idea of the seed packets and had to wait to go into town to get them.

Fingers crossed he likes it.

Ching-Chou Kuik's Digital Stamps Inspiration Post - Friday 18 August 2017

  Here is my weekly inspiration post for the Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Monthly Challenge Blog. 

Before I do I'd like to remind you that our challenge this month is "FOUR LEGGED FRIENDS".

This week the Design Team were challenged to "use a colour you dislike/you don't use very often".

For those that know me there is no doubt what colour comes to mind for me for a colour that I dislike/don't use very often ............... and that is GREEN!!!

Here is my inspiration post with this theme.

 For my Christmas card I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik image called "Aurora Woods" and I have coloured her in with my Promarkers.

The backing I made myself with lots of inks and stamps (swirls, mesh, holly leaves) doing lots of 1st generation, 2nd generation and 3rd generation stamping.

I have finished the card off with some holly and berries from a decoupage sheet and a stamped sentiment as I needed to keep the card as flat as possible as there are a lot of cards to post at Christmas time and it is so expensive.

Happy 25th Birthday Son

 Today is our eldest son's 25th birthday.  We are so proud of what he has achieved in his life so he needed a special card.  Kevin has collected a few meerkats from a certain insurance company so I knew that these Creative Crafting World Pollyanna Pickering meerkats were just the trick on my Pollyanna Pickering World Wildlife CD.

 For my card which I have decorated outside, inside and on the back and I have used various topper sheets which I printed off multiple times to decoupage, backing papers, embellishments and a teabag paper sheet.

I have finished the card off with a number 25 which I cut out from printing off the computer and added Glossy Accents to make it shiny, gems, wooden button and seam binding ribbon.
