Ching-Chou Kuik's Digital Stamps Inspiration Post - Friday 8 April 2016

It is time for me to show you my Inspiration Post for the Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Monthly Challenge Blog.

Before I do I'd like to remind you that our challenge this month is "use kraft card".
I love to use kraft card as it makes the cards/creations very rustic in nature.  For my card I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik digital stamp called "Toadstool Fairy".  I have coloured the image in with Promarkers and used chalks for the background for a subtle effect.

For my back paper I have used various Tim Holtz distress inks (Mustard Seed, Rusty Hinge, Squeezed Lemonade and Tea Dye) and dabbed onto a craft sheet, spritzed with water and swirled by watercolour card into it.  I then used various texture stamps and the same ink pads to add texture.  Finally I inked through with a harlequin mask and Rusty Hinge distress ink mixed with a little bit of my pearl Imagination Crafts Starlight Paint to give some shimmer to the project.

I have finished the card off with die-cut butterflies, stamped sentiment, ribbon and some Dutch Doobadoo kraft embellishments.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Glitter n Sparkle - Use a punch/die
Lil Patch of Crafty Friends - Anything goes
Love to Scrap - The big bow theory
Incy Wincy - Colour me wonderful (use your favourite colouring medium) - alcohol pens for me)

I have played along with the challenge.  For my favourite colour scheme I have gone for purple and blue - purple as it is my favourite colour and blue to remind me of the sea.

I have used the freebie image "Little Clover" and coloured her in with Promarkers trying to do an ombre effect on her hair with various purple/blue Promarkers, chalked the background, added white dots with my Posca pen, added some faux stitching with a fine detail pen and finally inked around the edges with my Tim Holtz Shaded Lilac and Dusty Concord distress inks.

The backing papers are by Tracy Wray (mens' set and oriental) and Club Hunkydory.  I have used my Tim Holtz distressing tool to distress the edges and then inked with a purple chalk ink pad.

I have finished the card off with some lace, ribbon, button, die-cuts from a friend, stamped sentiment, flowers die-cut from the leftover printed papers and Papermania Glitterations.

Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Facebook Challenge - April 2016 - The 4 Elements

It is time for another challenge over at the Ching-Chou Kuik's Digital Stamps Facebook Group.

The challenge for April 2016 is "The 4 Elements" ie water, fire, earth and air.

I know I am not on Facebook Design Team but I have made a card for the challenge.
I decided to go with the element theme of water and I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik digital stamp called "Magic Wish".  I have coloured the image in with my Promarkers and fussy cut around the image.  I added my clear Wink of Stella pen over the mermaid tail.

I have used an MDF tag I had which I painted with some new Imagination Crafts Starlight paints.  This are wonderful for coverage ie a small bit goes a long way and the shiny and sparkly on them is fabulous.  After the blue Starlight paint was dry I used a handmade mask along with my Dutch Doobadoo texture paste to make dots for the water.  I used a piece of sticky back paper for the sand area (left over from hubby covering a coffee table).  On top of the water I painted on a Starlight pearl paint to give some more sparkle and shine.

I have finished off the tag with some cheesecloth, lots of ribbons and fibres, charm, wired leaves and some Joy die-cut shells coloured with Pan Pastels.

I am entering this decorated tag into the following challenges:

It's time for another challenge over at the Delicious Doodles Challenge Blog.

I have decided to make a Christmas card.  I have used the Delicious Doodles images called "Christmas Holly Border" and "Christmas Lantern".

I took the Christmas Holly Border into Serif Craft Artist so that I could fit the lantern inside the border along with the words "Happy Christmas".  I have coloured the image in with Promarkers and highlighted areas with red Stickles glitter glue.  I have added Glossy Accents to the glass of the lantern.

I have used three different magazine freebie papers.

Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Inspiration and Challenge Blog - April 2016 Challenge - Use Kraft Card

Today sees the start of another challenge over at the Ching-Chou Kuik's Digital Stamps Monthly Challenge Blog.

This month the challenge is "use kraft card".

To take part you do not have to use a Ching-Chou Kuik digital stamp but we all do love to see them being used.

If you do use a Ching-Chou Kuik image from her Etsy store you can enter the challenge twice, thus giving you two chances of winning.

It also means that you could be "in the running" of winning the Artist Choice Award where Ching-Chou Kuik herself looks at all the entries using an image from her Etsy Store and the winner gets to pick 5 images free from the Etsy Store as their prize.
Here is a sneak peak of my card that you will see on my blog on Friday 8 April 2016.

It would be lovely if you could play along with the challenge this month.
