Ching-Chou Kuik's Digital Stamps Monthly Challenge Blog - Kym's Inspiration Post - Monday 16 March 2015

It is Monday and therefore time for me to show you an inspiration post for the Ching-Chou Kuik's Digital Stamps Monthly Challenge Blog.
For this weeks' inspiration post I chose the Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamp called "Toadstool Fairy" to work with.  I wanted to make an extra special birthday card that had a bit of WOW!!  I have coloured the image in with my Promarkers and then used a blue, green, pink and yellow Pan Pastel and blended it all in with the Pan Pastel blender.
The shape of the card came from Kathryn Sturrock who I saw making a card like this on Create and Craft a few weeks ago.  She used two A5 pieces of card, added some score lines and hey presto a dimensional card - but one that can be folded flat to go in an envelope but springs to life as soon as it is released out of the envelope - the only problem with it is that it's not that easy to photograph especially when using mirri card!!!
The backing papers I have used are from Joy! Crafts and are there "Under the Sea" paper pad.  It is such good quality paper.  The flowers took the time to punch out and ink and they were made with the same backing papers.

I have finished the card off with the punched flowers, Craftwork Cards die-cut sentiment, liquid pearls for the spots on the toadstools, die-cut butterflies (inked and Stickles glitter glue added), Papermania Glitterations, ribbon bow and a pearl.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Home Sweet Home

I have made this card for a special lady who has had a tough time of it lately and continues to do so and on top of that is moving house.  I decided to make a card and decorated a box for it to go inside.
The owl images were all from my recent Debbi Moore magazine.  This magazine is a wonderful buy at £4.99 every two months and you get ideas/inspiration in the magazine along with images/decoupage/backing papers and on top of this is a CD.
For the backing papers I have used as I wanted them to be all the same on the card and on the box so I have used the Debbi Moore Shabby Chic Garden CD.  I have also used the flowers from the CD for decoration.
To get some dimension I have used my new Crafter's Companion Hessian Textures embossing folder.  I love these new Textures folders as Crafter's Companion have coloured in the front of the embossing folder with the image that will be embossed eg the hessian.  This makes it so much easier if you are used a one-sided piece of card (eg it is a posh/patterned/decorate card with a white back) that you know which way to emboss properly.  It also makes it easier when you want to use just a specific area to emboss on your card or a specific area of the folder you want to use.  Fingers crossed they keep this idea up with other embossing folders.
I have finished the card and box off with flowers, sentiments/tags from the magazine, pearls, Joanna Sheen die-cut bunting, ribbon, buttons, stamped sentiments and I also stamped the sentiment on tissue paper to line the box with.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Through the Craft Room Door - Anything goes
Not Just Cards - Anything goes
Natalie and Amy - Flowers

For this weeks' inspiration post I chose the Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamp called "Peony Kimono Maiden" to work with.  I decided I wanted a Spring-like feel card and went for tones of orange, yellow and green as that reminds me of tulips and daffodils springing up in the Spring time.  I have coloured the image in with my Promarkers and made the background with a a turquoise blue, pink, green and yellow Pan Pastel and used the Pan Pastel blender to blend it all together.

The backing papers I have used I printed off about a year ago from Summertime Designs.

I have finished the card off with a lace bow, button, Lea'bilites tiny die-cut flowers, die-cut butterfly, Craftwork Cards die-cut sentiment, Perfect Pearls, spotty grossgrain ribbon and some twine.
