There is another lovely sketch over at the Sophisticat Challenge Blog this week. I have used a plain piece of pearlescent backing paper and then I printed off a corresponding rainbow backing paper as the topper from the Card Creations Di Kaye Art Deco CD. I then had a small Eiffel Tower and stamped this all over the backing paper which I printed onto card as I knew I wanted to emboss with Versamark and then used clear embossing powder. I did try it first with Versamark and cosmic shimmers but that piece went in the recyling bin as when I was brushing off the excess I must have been heavy handed and got lines where something in the shimmers wasn't totally a powder ie the mica pigments. I didn't like the stripes it made as it looked like a child scribbling on it so I decided to print off another sheet of backing paper (this is why I like CDs so much!!) and then used the Versamark with clear embossing power. I then cut it up as per the required sketch and it looks like I've used two backing papers but it's the same one just a different end because of the rainbow effect. The decoupaged topper has been added along with some peel-offs, a sentiment printed on the computer and edged with a purple chalk ink pad, three little flowers cut out of the same backing paper, 3 of my beloved gems, some fibres and finally a matching insert.
