Delicious Doodles Challenge - Friday 20 December 2013 - A White Christmas

It is time for the last challenge of 2013 for Team B over at the Delicious Doodles Challenge Blog.

If you want to take part the topic of the challenge this week is "A White Christmas".
For my Christmas card I have used the Delicious Doodles image called "On a Winter's Day".  It is a stunning and very detailed image by Teri so I have to just highlighted a few areas with Promarkers.
I have added some Polar White Flowersoft for snow and added some Imagination Crafts Diamond Sparkle Medium for lots of sparkle and shine.

I decided I would make a white-on-white card with just the image coloured so I have done a lot of embossing/die-cutting shapes/flowers, all from the same card stock that I used for the card blank.  All areas have been edged with the Imagination Crafts Diamond Sparkle Medium.  I have finished the card off with some buttons, card candi, Craftwork Cards die-cut sentiment, seam binding ribbon bow and pearl embellishment.

For my card I have used the Sweet Pea Stamps image by Elaine Cox called "Moon of Wintertime".  It is available as a digital stamp and a rubber stamp set (the set comes with the larger image and a small image which you could use as a background stamp, for inserts or envelopes).
I have coloured the image in with my Promarkers and added highlights with my clear Wink of Stella pen.
The backing papers I have used are from the Bearly Mine Designs "Winter Swirls" Set.  I have finished the card off with some die-cut snowflakes, gems, handmade flowers made out of tissue paper and held together with brads, die-cut Christmas trees with Stickles added for some Christmas sparkle and a sentiment from my Perfect Christmas Companions CD.

I have coloured my image in with Promarkers and highlighted areas with some Pan Pastels.  I then used used a Spellbinders die to cut out some I could pyromage the image.  The backing papers are from K&Co which I must have had now for 2-3 years but I am determined to use my papers up and this pad is now all gone.  I have inked a doily with Tim Holtz's Mustard Seed and Vintage Photo distress ink pads with my Inkylicious brushes.  The card has been finished off with some pretty yellow flowers, ribbons, sentiment from a Debbi Moore CD, Spellbinders butterfly die-cuts, Stickles glitter glue, memory wire and some pearls.

Goodbye and Good Luck

I have a few scheduled posts to go on my blog for the remainder of this week but thought I'd post some others tonight.  A colleague at work is moving onto pastures new tomorrow so I made her this card.

I have used various Sweet Pea Stamps images by Ching-Chou Kuik.  The first image of the lady, deer and rabbit is called "Autumn Trio".  It is available as a digital stamp and a rubber stamp.
The second image of the fairy and deer is called "Forest Companion".  It is available as a digital stamp and a rubber stamp.
The third image of a girl and butterflies is called "Tropical Queen".  It is available as a digital stamp and a rubber stamp.

I have coloured the images in with my Graph'it pens and inked around the edges with various Tim Holtz distress inks.  The backing papers are from my Perfect Companions Everyday CD.  I have finished the card off with some die-cut flowers with stamens put through the centre for some realism, stick pin, wired leaves, punches leaves, die-cut butterflies, sentiment off the computer, lace and ribbon.

On the third side there isn't a massive blank white area - I just forgot to photograph the card before writing my message inside - now how many of us have done that before?

Ching-Chou Kuik - Crane of Peace

Here is a clean and simple (CAS) card I have made using the Sweet Pea Stamps image by Ching-Chou Kuik called "Crane of Peace".  This gorgeous image is available as a digital stamp, single rubber stamp or as a multi-image plate (Sheet 54, Plate 249 and on this multi-image plate Crane of Peace comes with Black Swan Lady, Northern Nightfall and Love Magic).

I have coloured the image with my Promarkers/Flexmarkers and highlighted areas with my Pan Pastels.  I have kept the colour scheme of the card to pink and turquoise.  I need some serious therapy as I've used some Tim Holtz backing papers my eldest son bought me for Christmas two years ago.  For one year I looked at the papers and this year I've been using them and lots and lots are gone.  I have just done some simple matting and layering and finished the card off with a sentiment off a Debbi Moore CD and two pink gem stars.

The Sweet Pea Stamps image I have used is by Elaine Cox and is called "Christmas Bird".  It is available as a digital stamp and a stamp set (it comes with a large stamp and a matching small stamp which you could use for backing papers/inserts/envelopes etc).
