Happy Anniversary

It was a friend's wedding anniversary recently so I thought this image would be perfect as it reminds me of the film "Grease" which is one of my all time favourite films.

For my card I used The Paper Shelter image called "Hey Baby".  In this set you will get a black-and-white image to colour in, a coloured in image, a complementary backing paper and a composition paper.  I used the composition paper, took into Craft Artist so I could add the sentiment "Happy anniversary" and printed out twice so I could do a bit of decoupage.

The backing papers are from Summertime Designs (sadly no longer available).

I have finished the card off quite simply with a decorative bow and die-cut hearts put through a dotty embossing folder.

Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Inspiration Post - Monday 10 July 2023

Sadly we have ended the Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Facebook Monthly Challenge due to lack of entrants.

Instead the Design Team members will be posting three cards/projects each month on the Facebook Group for inspiration on what you could make with Ching-Chou Kuik's amazing images.

Here is one of my inspiration posts.

For my second project this month I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik image called "Beloved Sunshine".  This image is part of a set.  You will get one a very detailed background and one less detailed which is the one I decided to use for a change.

I have coloured the image in with Promarkers and used chalks for the background.  

The backing papers are from Summertime Designs (sadly no longer available).

I have finished the card off with some gorgeous wide lace, large die-cut sunflower, ribbon, sentiments and die-cut butterflies and a dotty background which I think was sold for bubbles in the water (Crafter's Companion).

Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Inspiration Post - Monday 20 March 2023

The Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Facebook Group challenge for March 2023 is "ALWAYS ANYTHING GOES".

Yes I know this card is very bright but on dreary days a bit of coloured is needed.

For my last inspiration post for March 2023 I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik image called "Mad Tea Party".

I have coloured the image in with Promarkers, highlighted areas with my white Posca pen and inked around the edge with Tim Holtz's Black Soot distress ink.

The backing papers are from Summertime Design and Funky Fairy (sadly no longer available).

I have finished the card off with a stamped sentiment, flowers cut from one of the backing papers and a die-cut clock.

Happy Pearl Wedding Anniversary to my Wonderful Husband Paul

Well where were you 30 years ago today?

This is my husband and I on our wedding day.  It was a lovely day with family and friends but I seriously missed my dad being alive for my special day. 

This is us a few years ago:

Obviously a pearl anniversary meant I had to make an extra special card for my husband.

For my card I have used a CraftsUPrint kit by AS Snezana Cards called "Wedding Anniversary Champagne Mini Kit".  I have made an 8x8 easel card.  The backing papers are from Summertime Designs (sadly no longer available).

I have used extracts from the kit and behind the decoupage I have used strung pearls, lace and some large pearls.

This is a close-up of the bottom of the card and the flowers in the corner have been decoupaged high to make sure that they are the stopper for the easel card.

I hope my husband likes his card.  It took me quite a while to make but I am pleased with how it turned out.

Ching-Chou Kuik's Digital Stamps Inspiration Post - Monday 5 July 2021

Today is the day for me to show you another creation for the Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Facebook Group.

Our challenge this month is:

"EMBOSSING - WET or DRY or BOTH".

Here is my inspiration post with that theme. 
For my card I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik image called "Keep in Faith - Greyscale".

I have coloured my image in with Promarkers and inked around the edge with Tim Holtz's Squeezed Lemonade and Mustard Seed distress inks.

The backing papers are digital downloads from Summertime Designs (sadly no longer available).

The first layer I have put through a large dots Crafter's Companion embossing folder and the frilly layer was using a Darice embossing folder and then I cut around the shape.

I am still going along with trying to use bits-and-pieces I've had for a long time.  Some years ago I won a challenge and I won some die-cut jigsaw pieces by Dutch Doobadoo.  I inked the pieces with the Squeezed Lemonade distress ink.  I put the pieces back into a square shape and I then used a grey Versafine Clair ink pad and stamped a magazine freebie sunflower onto the jigsaw pieces.  Once separated I then used my metallic gold Pan Pastel around the edges.

I have finished the card off quite simply with some rustic twine from Crafter's Companion and a die-cut sentiment.

Happy Birthday

I wondered why my two posts did not go "live" last week when we were away.  

I'd saved them as drafts and not published them - silly me eh? 

I am still getting used to doing things differently with Blogger.

I have made this card using my gorgeous Pink Ink Designs giraffe stamp and stamped it onto coloured paper.  I then coloured in areas with my Promarkers.  I also stamped out the leaves and flowers from backing papers I had.

I decided that I wanted the giraffe poking out from behind a frame so I used a large Spellbinders die to die cut the shape out.  As I wanted to make sure it was in exactly the same place on all three layers I decided to stick the layers together and then die-cut.  That was a no-no because three layers on top of double-sided tape it would not cut the whole way through no matter what I did.  In the end I decided to lay the image over the back and cut which worked.  I then put the die back on the front and ran it through my Gemini and I managed to get the edge embossed again.  Lesson learnt!!

The digital papers I have used are from Summertime Designs (sadly no longer available).  For the back of the frame I used Pan Pastels to make a very delicate background and used some greenery stamps in the bottom corner.

I have finished the card off with a die-cut sentiment and the flowers and leaves I stamped and cut out.

I hope the recipient likes it.  I am sure she will.

I have made this birthday card for a friend.  She is not really into birthdays and that is why it does not say "happy birthday".

I have used a decoupage sheet from a Debbi Moore's Inspiration Magazine.  I thought this was a lovely calming image and also highlighted "getting on your bike" now that things are relaxing a bit more here in the UK.

The digital backing papers I have used are from Summertime Designs (sadly no longer available).

As I was able to hand deliver the card I could go a bit "over the top" with dimensional flowers.

I have finished the card off with some lace which I have threaded blue ribbon through, die-cut some butterflies from some scraps of backing papers I had, Sentimentally Yours die-cut tag, ribbon and a stamped sentiment.

As You Like It - Do you prefer digital, clear or rubber stamps? - I like them all but my preference has to be digital stamps as you can re-size them to any project you are doing and you don't have to have somewhere to special to sore them as they stay on your computer.  The only downside I personally have for digital stamps is that we have an inkjet printer running a CISS system.  I'd love to be able to print via a laser printer and do water colouring of my digital stamps.  Oh one can dream eh?

I have used my Cropodile to punch holes around the edge of the die-cut shape so I could thread some cross-stitch threads through them.

Here is a card that I have made using the freebie following Debbi Moore's Facebook live last Thursday evening.  The free kit had lots of love themed items along with fashion.

For my card I have used this large topper sheet and printed it off twice to decoupage the image.

A Perfect Time to Craft Open Challenge Blog - February 2021

For my Valentine's Day card I have used the mini kit called "Old and Wrinkly Mini Kit" by Elaine Hayhoe.  For the top layer of the cute little wrinkly dogs I made a concertina with some scraps of card so that when my husband pulls the card out of the envelope the heads will automatically jump up.

I have coloured my image in with Promarkers.  I then tore around the edge of the image, inked around with Tim Holtz's tea dye distress ink and then dropped water over in parts and lifted some of the colour away.

I have finished the card off with some Tim Holtz die-cut leaves from an old book which I coloured in with Honeycomb and Cinnamon Promarkers, Crafter's Companion clear sparkle pen on the wings and some flowers, die-cut sentiment and three small orange flowers.

 For my autumnal colour themed card I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik image called "Sunflower Night".

I have coloured my image in with Promarkers.

The backing papers I have used are from Summertime Designs (sadly no longer available).

I have finished the card off with die-cut leaves cut from scraps of the backing papers, some brown fibres and a die-cut sentiment.
