Happy Birthday

I wondered why my two posts did not go "live" last week when we were away.

I'd saved them as drafts and not published them - silly me eh?

I am still getting used to doing things differently with Blogger.

I have made this card using my gorgeous Pink Ink Designs giraffe stamp and stamped it onto coloured paper.  I then coloured in areas with my Promarkers.  I also stamped out the leaves and flowers from backing papers I had.

I decided that I wanted the giraffe poking out from behind a frame so I used a large Spellbinders die to die cut the shape out.  As I wanted to make sure it was in exactly the same place on all three layers I decided to stick the layers together and then die-cut.  That was a no-no because three layers on top of double-sided tape it would not cut the whole way through no matter what I did.  In the end I decided to lay the image over the back and cut which worked.  I then put the die back on the front and ran it through my Gemini and I managed to get the edge embossed again.  Lesson learnt!!

The digital papers I have used are from Summertime Designs (sadly no longer available).  For the back of the frame I used Pan Pastels to make a very delicate background and used some greenery stamps in the bottom corner.

I have finished the card off with a die-cut sentiment and the flowers and leaves I stamped and cut out.

I hope the recipient likes it.  I am sure she will.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

I wondered why my two posts did not go "live" last week when we were away.  I'd saved them as drafts and not published them - silly me eh?  I am still getting used to doing things differently with Blogger.

I have made this birthday card for a friend.  She is not really into birthdays and that is why it does not say "happy birthday".

I have used a decoupage sheet from a Debbi Moore's Inspiration Magazine.  I thought this was a lovely calming image and also highlighted "getting on your bike" now that things are relaxing a bit more here in the UK.

The digital backing papers I have used are from Summertime Designs (sadly no longer available).

As I was able to hand deliver the card I could go a bit "over the top" with dimensional flowers.

I have finished the card off with some lace which I have threaded blue ribbon through, die-cut some butterflies from some scraps of backing papers I had, Sentimentally Yours die-cut tag, ribbon and a stamped sentiment.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Creatalicious - Anything goes with the option for a woman

Ching-Chou Kuik's Digital Stamps Inspiration Post - Monday 17 May 2021

Today is the day for me to show you my creation for the Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Facebook Group.

Our challenge this month is:

"MAGICAL WORLD eg fairies, dryads, mermaids, unicorns etc".

This week the Design Tean were challenged to "use yellow or orange or both".

Here is my inspiration post with that theme.

Well for this challenge I decided to use both yellow and orange.  They are not colours I really turn to, not sure why, as they worked well for this card along with some pink flowers.

For my birthday card I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik image called "Bunnies in the Garden".

I thought I'd have a go at using pencils to colour in this image.  Well it took me nearly a week every now and again doing a bit.  I've highlighted areas with my white gel pen.

The backing papers are from Summertime Designs (sadly no longer available).

I made a little dropped shadow border with my little hexagons die using black for the shadow and yellow above.  I did the same for the little bees - well a garden image would not be complete without insects would it?

I have finished the card off quite simply with some wide yellow satin ribbon, very bright orange lace and some yellow grosgrain ribbon and a die-cut sentiment.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Morgans Artworld - Anything goes
Cute as a Button - Anything goes

Happy Birthday Friend!

Here is a card I have made using a Debbi Moore freebie topper sheet and backing paper.  Isn't the rose and butterflies just gorgeous?  I printed the sheet off twice so I could do some extra decoupage - well that is where my first love with crafting came about.

I have used some glitter card to add some sparkle to my card.

I have simply finished the card off with flowers/sentiments/banners off the topper sheet, some posh lace and some gems.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Dragonfly Dreams - Add some sparkle (glitter paper and gems)

Happy Birthday - Have a Great Day!

Here is a card for a male family member using some decoupage from Joanna Sheen by the artist Jody Bergsma (sadly I do not think it is available now).  These animal images are perfect for those men that do not really have an interest but then again I would gladly receive a card like this being a female.

The backing papers I have used are from The Works and Sara Davies Crafter's Companion Nautical Range.

As the card has to be posted I could not go too "over the top" but have die-cut some greenery, die-cut some netting, added a sentiment from the decoupage sheet, stamped a sentiment, used a piece of Crafter's Companion hessian style thread and knotted it in places and finally some gems.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Hare-py Birthday Julie

I recently won a challenge over at the Skeepski Designs Facebook Group and I got to pick some images as my prize.  These bunnies - or hares - are gorgeous and I thought they would be perfect to give to my hairdresser for her birthday.

I have coloured the Sheepski Designs image called "Bad Hare Day Image No 169" in with Promarkers.  For the bunny/hare on the left and the hairdryer I decided to decoupage this area to add a bit more dimension.

I have used a very small stencil I got free with a magazine and drew the brick effect to replicate a wall and did the same with some squares to replicate a tiled floor.  It was very time consuming compared to just colouring with pens/chalks/Pan Pastels etc but I think it was worth it.

The backing papers I have used are from my Creative Crafting World Perfect Papercrafting CD and I have also used some Dolly Dimples wood effect card.

I have finished the card off with some lace, grosgrain ribbon, gems, computer generated sentiment (a bit corny I know but I am sure she will like it!!), organza bow with a button sewn onto it.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Jan's Digi Stamps - Anything goes

Today is the day for me to show you my creation for the Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Facebook Group.

Our challenge this month is:

"MAGICAL WORLD eg fairies, dryads, mermaids, unicorns etc".

Here is my inspiration post with that theme.
For my birthday card I have used one of the new decoupage images that are in the Etsy Store.  I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik image called "Dreamy Moon".  Isn't that little puppy so very cute?

I have used the image along with some papers from The Works.  I shall be glad when they reopen to look for some new paper pads as their quality is very good.

I have finished the card off with a bought flower, leaves cut out of a piece of the backing paper that I gutted (no-one will know will they??), LOTV digital sentiments, wide pink sating ribbon, narrow stitched pink ribbon and a piece of pink lace.

A Perfect Time to Craft Open Challenge Blog - May 2021

Today sees the start of another challenge over at the A Perfect Time to Craft Open Challenge Blog.

The topic is always "ANYTHING GOES" and you are allowed unlimited entries into the challenge.

This month are very welcome sponsor is "Fred She Said".

For my card I have used the image called "Afternoon Ride (Motorcycle)".

When you purchase this image you will get some black-and-white images for you to colour and some pre-coloured images which I can only say are fantastic!!

For my card I used the pre-coloured motorcycle.  I also took the image into Craft Artist and made my own backing paper.

I used a tyre stamp held in my hand so it did not print in a full straight line and instead was distressed.  I tore around the image and inked with Tim Holtz's Vintage Photo distress ink and then also added the tyre stamp around it as well.

I cut out various cogs and brushed over with silver and copper gilding wax.

I then used three layers of card die-cut for the name "Stuart".

I have finished the card off quite simply with a stamped sentiment.
