Ching-Chou Kuik's Digital Stamps Inspiration Post - Monday 19 July 2021

Today is the day for me to show you another creation for the Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Facebook Group.

Our challenge this month is:

"EMBOSSING - WET or DRY or BOTH".

This week the design Team were challenged to "dots or stripes or both".

Here is my inspiration post with that theme. 
For my card I have used one of the newer Ching-Chou Kuik images called "Summer Blooms".

I have coloured my image in with Promarkers.  I have used Pan Pastels for the background and then stamped with various greenery stamps to frame the image.

The backing papers are from The Works and a Creative Crafting World CD.

I have finished the card off with a die-cut sunflower, skeleton leaves, Nuvo pearl drops and a die-cut sentiment.

Colour Crazy Challenge Blog - Friday 11 December 2020

It is time for Team A's last challenge for 2020 over at the Colour Crazy Challenge Blog.

The weekly topic is always "anything goes".

This week we are lucky to be sponsored by "Oddball Art".

For my Christmas easel card I have used the Oddball Art digital stamp called "Christmas Elf with Long Naughty List - Image No 353".

I have coloured the image in with Promarkers.  I then printed out a copy of the image the same size onto copier paper and cut out the inside of the list to use as a mask.  I then put the image with the mask on top into my Tim Holtz stamping platform and used a Morning Mist Versafine Clair ink pad and a distressed script stamp to add writing to the rather long list.

The backing papers I have used are from various Polkadoodles CDs.  For all the presents I used a gift backing paper from a Christmas Creative Crafting World CD.  It was a slow job cutting them all out and inking their edges but it meant that I could add the presents to foam pads and the majority are used as my stopper for the easel card.

I have finished the card off quite simply with a sentiment from a Polkadoodles CD and a pom-pom on the elf's hat.

Happy 60th Birthday to my Brother John

It was my brother-in-law's 60th birthday yesterday.  No party for him and nearly no handmade card as I haven't been at all well the last month.

My brother-in-law has an amazing fish tank in his front room and a lot of time is spent looking after the fish so it had to be a fish themed card.  I looked through various CDs and came across this image of four fish on my Joanna Sheen Jayne Netley Mayhew CD.  I printed off the topper sheet and an insert and the backing papers were from a Creative Crafting World CD.

I used the fish on the smaller toppers and fussy cut them and die-cut seaweed, net and vegetation and placed the cut out fish on either side of the card.  The main image is decoupaged.

I have finished the card off with a sentiment printed from the CD, the number "60" die-cut out of packaging card twice and then some patterned paper to add dimension, lots and lots of die-cuts and Nuvo pearl drops added to the vegetation and the backdrop for the fish.

Happy Birthday Son

It is our youngest son's 24th birthday birthday.  I spent hours trawling through images on CraftsUPrint before I found this perfect image as my son as he does baking every Saturday.  This little gnome with his beautiful cake is from a kit from CraftsUPrint by Tanya Hall called "Gnome Chef Birthday Mini Kit".  In the kit you get the main topper, insert, decoupage layers and lots and lots of sentiments - certainly amazing value for £1.20.

I was able to match the colours in the topper to backing papers by using my Creative Crafting World Perfect Papercrafting CD".

I have finished the card off quite simply with a sentiment from the kit and some white organza ribbon which I coloured in stripes with Promarkers to match the colours in the toppers and the backing papers.

Happy Birthday Bro

Here is the card that I made for our youngest son to give to his brother yesterday.

For my card I have used the Creative Crafting World Meercat Madness - One for the boys CD (sadly no longer available).

For my card I have used a decoupage sheet, backing papers and insert.

I have used my John Next Door cornflower die to cut flowers from the scraps of backing paper I had left.

I have finished the card off with some raffia, Lisa Horton tag with a computer generated sentiment and some pearls.

Happy Birthday Brother

Last Wednesday it was also my brother-in-law's birthday and as he likes his garden I used my Creative Crafting World "Meercat Madness - For the boys" CD and used this meercat mowing the lawn.  Whilst lockdown has been in place my brother-in-law has been able to spend a lot a time in his garden which he does not normally get to do as he runs his own business.  This card was made months ago but such an apt card for him.

I have used a topper sheet (printed out twice so I could decoupage), different backing papers and an insert from the CD.

As the card needed to be posted I have finished it simply with some twine, stamped sentiment (using two different stamps) and die-cut stars from the backing paper which I then embossed with an embossing folder for more texture.

Sending Birthday Wishes Uncle

It was my uncle's birthday on Wednesday so I made him this card using my Creative Crafting World "Meercat Madness - For the boys" (sadly this is no longer showing on their website) and used this cute image of a meercat chilling out with a cup in his hand and a remote control for the TV in the other.  My uncle works really hard despite not being well himself and he looks after my aunt as she is not well so his favourite place is to sit watching the TV to get some "me" time especially if there are Carry On films to watch!!

For my card I have printed off two plain papers off the CD from the collection along with a patterned paper, image printed out twice so I could decoupage and insert.

As the card needed to be posted I have simply finished off the card with a stamped sentiment, gems, some spotty grosgrain ribbon, I made a little posy shape with some twine and a button.

Good Luck in your New Job Kevin

Today sees our eldest son start a new job.  When he was a child we nearly lost him twice due to his brittle asthma.  Since he's been working he has vowed to "give back" to the NHS for them saving his life twice.  This will be his third job in an NHS Trust.

For my card I have used my Creative Crafting World Meercat Madness For the Boys CD.  I have used a topper sheet, three different backing papers and an insert for the CD.

On one of the backing papers I have used two of my texture stamps to stamp on a checked and a harlequin texture to tie in with the topper.

I have finished the card off quite simply with a computer generated sentiment, seam binding ribbon, organza ribbon, lots of die-cut stars and a button.

Hope You Feel Better Soon Card

Here is a card I made recently for a friend who had been in hospital.  I could of course used a card from my stash but seeing as she has a slight addiction to tigers - well not just a slight but a massive addiction -  I decided to make a tiger card.  Of course I went straight to my Creative Crafting World Pollyanna Pickering's World Wildlife CD.

For my card I have used three different backing papers, 8x8 insert and a twisted decoupage topper which I have layered up with foam pads as it was going to be hand-delivered.

I have finished the card off with a sentiment off the CD (ie a box where you could insert your own text before it printed), decorative circles from the topper sheet cut out with a punch and inked around the edges and finally some seam binding ribbon.

I was going to enter this into the Creative Crafting World Challenge this month but their blog seems to have disappeared.

I needed to make a card for a man so I whizzed on over to my Creative Crafting World Pollyanna Pickering Wildlife CD.  Male cards can sometimes be difficult if the recipient is not into football, fishing etc but cards made with animals can easily be sent to men.

For my card I have used various backing papers from the CD, shaped pyromage, sentiments and borders.  I like these CDs as each animal has a set of items you can use and you can happily know everything will match.

I have finished the card off with ribbon strips off the CD, sentiments of the CD and some Papermania Glitterations.
