Wishing you a beautiful day

Here is a card I have made to cheer someone up.  I have used my Pink Ink Designs "Sea Turtle" stamp.  This time I have used the main turtle and the two smaller turtles.  I have coloured them in with Promarkers and fussy cut around them.

I then got a piece of A4 watercolour card and used various Distress Oxide refills (Broken China, Fossilised Amber and Wilted Violet) and coloured the background adding layers at a time.  I then cut the card in half and on one piece I cut out a Spellbinders shape to make a frame for my turtles to sit in.

I recently won a challenge over that the CD Sunday Challenge and won a £30 voucher for anywhere I wanted.  I was sooooooooooo delighted.  I picked Hunkydory as they sold some of the Sara Davies' Nautical Collection that I wanted and I also got three ink pads.

For my card I have used the Crafter's Companion Nautical sea foam die, fishing net die, Joy! Crafts waves die, Marianne Designs shell dies, Sue Wilson greenery die, and various stamped shells/wave/rope trim.

I have finished the card off with a stamped sentiment, pearls and some bright and sparkly sequins.

The Promarkers that I have used are:

Large turtle - Orchid, Amethyst, Purple, Cool Aqua, Duck Egg, Turquoise, Sunkissed Pink and Coral.
Smaller turtles - Amethyst and Duck Egg.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Happy Birthday

I haven't been able to craft for some weeks now so I am showing some cards I have made in the previous months and not posted on my blog.

Here is a card I have made using an image from The Paper Shelter called "Glamorous Girls".  What I like about these images is that you get black-and-white versions to colour yourself but then there are coloured images, coloured background and a coloured image on the background.  I do love colouring images but I still love the first area I went into in cardmaking ie decoupage.

I used the image with the background and printed out three times so that I could do some decoupage.

The backing papers are from my stash.

I have finished the card off with stamped corners/sentiment (and without my Tim Holtz Stamping Platform I would NEVER have attempted this as knowing me I'd not stamp one corner or the sentiment hard enough and it would be ruined!!), lace, frilly ribbon, pearls and organza ribbon.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Paper Shelter - Birthday girl
Crafty Catz - Anything goes with the option of monochrome
Polkadoodles - Anything goes
A Gem of a Challenge - Anything goes
Allsorts - Happy birthday
As You Like It - Favourite - his or hers and why (If I am totally honest I prefer to make cards/projects for females as I can use a wider choice of colours, wider choice of images and of course use lots and lots of yummy embellishments eg ribbon, lace, pearls, gems etc)

I used my Tim Holtz pricking ruler to mark dots around the mount for the image, stitched around the image with some glittery thread and actually sewed on the buttons to each corner.

The Promarkers that I have used are:

Turtley Awesome - Thank You

Here is another card I have made using a Pink Ink Designs stamp.  This time I have used the stamp set called "Sea Turtle".  I love these stamp sets as the main image is bit but you also get other smaller images like two different sized turtles, three different starfish, three lots of greenery and a sentiment.

I have stamped the main image out first and then made a scene using the smaller turtles, two of the starfish stamps and the three greenery stamps.  The image has been coloured in with Promarkers.  For the background I have used Pan Pastels.

I have finished the card off quite simply using the sentiment stamp, die-cut shells, sentiment from a magazine and some sparkly sequins.

The Promarkers that I have used are:

Main turtle - Cool Aqua, Duck Egg, Turquoise, Plum, Purple, Coral and Soft Peach
Other turtles - Ice Grey 1, Ice Grey 2, Coral and Soft Peach

Thank You Card

Here is another thank you card that I have made.  The little girl and boy stamps I was given but I think they are Hanglar stamps or I might be totally and utterly wrong.  I have coloured the image in with Promarkers and fussy cut them out.

For the background I have used some papers from Hobbycraft along with a beach hut embossing folder which I used chalks to colour in.

I have finished the card off quite simply with a stamped sentiment and some die-cut seagulls by Joanna Sheen.

"Old Salt Sailor" Thank You Card

Well when I saw this "Old Salt Sailor" from Pink Ink Designs on Honchanda he had to go on my "wait list" for items to buy - but strangely enough for someone who yearns to live near the sea he went to the top of the list and I ordered him from Craft Stash!!  He is a brilliantly sized main image but then you get 9 other images on the set as well.

At the same time my friend did purchase the image "Sea Turtle" so one day we set out at stamping out the images.  I have to be honest but we really really struggled to get these stamps to stamp perfectly at the start even after washing them, washing them again and even baby wipes.  I even contacted Mel and Cathie for some advice who own Pink Ink Designs.  Eventually after another very long soak and a light rub at the stamps with a cloth, the stamps were primed and ready for use.

For my thank you card I have used the sailor, lighthouse, small fish, large fish, compass, anchor, both the waves and crab stamps - well all of them apart from the small button.

I have coloured the image in with Promarkers and used Pan Pastels to create the subtle background.  Around the edge of the image I used a Copper Shine Cosmic Shimmer Metallic Gilding Polish.  With the lighthouse, large fish and smaller fish I fussy cut them out and 3D them onto the card.

As the stamps needed to "do the talking" I simply added a shell ribbon from Crafty Ribbons and a Paula Pasqual stamped sentiment.

The Promarkers that I have used are:

Face/skin - Saffron, Spice and Oatmeal
Hair/beard - Ice Grey 1, Ice Grey 2 and Ice Grey 3
Coat/hat - Sky Blue, Azura, True Blue, Yellow and Canary
Lighthouse/anchor/fish/compass/pipe - Caramel, Cocoa, Burnt Sienna, Canary, Red, Poppy Red, Ice Grey 1, Ice Grey 2, Peach and Soft Peach.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
