Jade's Sparkling Butterflies Challenge Blog - 28 April 2016 - Add a sentiment

It is time for another challenge over at the Jade's Sparkling Butterflies Challenge Blog.  This fortnight the topic is "add a sentiment".
This fortnight we have Oddball Art Company sponsoring our challenge.
For my card I have used the Oddball Art Co image called "Starlina #65".  I have coloured the image in with Promarkers, chalked the background and added Nuvo crystal drops to her wings and on the stars for some dimension.

For the card underneath the image I have made my own backing papers.  I used by Tim Holtz Squeezed Lemonade and Mustard Seed distress ink and coloured areas on a piece of white card.  I then used various textures stamps from Crafter's Companion and a skull stamp from Visible image and stamped with a brown, orange and grey Versafine ink pad.  I then put a tiny bit of Imagination Crafts Pearl Starlights Paint into a paint palette and added a little bit of water to thin it out a bit and painted over the whole backing card I had made so it gave it a nice pearly effect.

The brown paper I used for the backing, stamping the skull (i did back the paper onto some card so I could use an embossing tool to shape the skulls) and making the flower was cheap-as-chips parcel paper.  I was really pleased with the flower as I used 8 layers and it is so light.  I added a gorgeous brad from a friend to the centre and inked the flower with a brown chalk ink pad.

I have finished the card off with some satin ribbon, gold ribbon and a stamped sentiment.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Ching-Chou Kuik's Digital Stamps Inspiration Post - Friday 8 April 2016

It is time for me to show you my Inspiration Post for the Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Monthly Challenge Blog.

Before I do I'd like to remind you that our challenge this month is "use kraft card".
I love to use kraft card as it makes the cards/creations very rustic in nature.  For my card I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik digital stamp called "Toadstool Fairy".  I have coloured the image in with Promarkers and used chalks for the background for a subtle effect.

For my back paper I have used various Tim Holtz distress inks (Mustard Seed, Rusty Hinge, Squeezed Lemonade and Tea Dye) and dabbed onto a craft sheet, spritzed with water and swirled by watercolour card into it.  I then used various texture stamps and the same ink pads to add texture.  Finally I inked through with a harlequin mask and Rusty Hinge distress ink mixed with a little bit of my pearl Imagination Crafts Starlight Paint to give some shimmer to the project.

I have finished the card off with die-cut butterflies, stamped sentiment, ribbon and some Dutch Doobadoo kraft embellishments.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Glitter n Sparkle - Use a punch/die
Lil Patch of Crafty Friends - Anything goes
