Karen Middleton - New Year Mouse

Here is the first card I have made since my operation.  I was hoping that 10 days post surgery I'd be in less pain now and have more movement.  Maybe I wanting it to be better too soon.  I am off to see the Physio on 3 January 2014, back to see the Consultant on 8 January 2014 and then I start some private physio sessions on 10 January 2014 as it is a 60 mile round trip to the hospital where I had my surgery and my husband needs to take time off work to take me whereas the local one I can get a taxi to.

Onto my card.  No laughing with my colouring.  It's the best I can do at the moment.  I also did a colour scheme I steer clear of normally or yellow and orange.  Not sure why I don't like using these colours.

The image I have used is from Sweet Pea Stamps and is by the artist Karen Middleton.  It is called "New Year Mouse" and is available as a digital stamp.  I think this image could be used for other occasions than just for New Year ie birthdays, anniversaries etc.

I have coloured the image in with my Graph'it pens.  Maybe using the colour scheme of yellow and orange was excuse to try out two of my new yellow Graph'it pens I got for Christmas.

The backing papers are from my stash.  On the bottom paper I have embossed it using a clock mask and then inked with Tim Holtz's Rusty Hinge distress ink.  I have used a Visible Image clock stamp around the image.  The card has been finished off with some fibres, peel-off sentiment and some flowers punched out of the left-over backing papers.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Crafts 4 Eternity - Something new - New Year
Chocolate, Coffee and Cards - New beginnings
Digi Choosday - Anything goes

Gorgeous card kym, that's 1 of the images i bought, have just finished coloring it in with thenew graphit pens i got for Christmas.
i know what you mean about travelling to hospital i have been doing a 60 mile round trip twice a week for the last 5 weeks. My hubby has used all his holidays up now. If you go by ambulance hospital transport its an all day job. I have to go back 3rd January.
these things take time after an operation. I was right fed up when i had a back operation years ago, if you have a day where you feel a bit better you tent to do to much then you are back at square one.
good luck with all your appointments i,m just hoping when i ho there will actually be someone who will be senior enough to make a decision instead of the registrar's.

Brilliant card Kym, in fact I popped onto the Sweet Pea web and bought the digi! Hope you feel better soon, it's just a case of being patient and if you're anything like me you want everything to happen too quickly. Take care. Hugs x

Kym,
Firstly let me say that the orange and yellow are wonderful. The image is just darling and your card a beauty.
I am sorry to hear that you have such a deal to get therapy. At least it is available and I will pray that your recovery speeds up and you are back to a pain free normal state very soon. Thank you for sharing this beautiful art with us at Word Art Wednesday.
God Bless you as we prepare to enter into 2014,
Carole Robb Bisson

God bless and leaving you with God's Word in Ephesians 2:10 which says, "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them."

Always,
