Thank You Card

This is a thank you card I have made using a Sweet Pea Stamps image by Concetta Kilmer called "Serenity".  I have used the digital version but it is also available as a rubber stamp and it's on offer at the moment at Sweet Pea Stamps for $4.79.  I have coloured the image in with my Promarkers and highlighted areas with my white gel pen and Sakura Stardust clear pen.  Around the image I have used two different yellow Pan Pastels.  The backing papers I was given (they are 6x6 and I think they might be Papermania).  I have finished the card off with some die-cut greenery which I have highlighted the embossing with a green pan pastel, pearls, die-cut butterfly, lace, ribbon and peel-off sentiment.

Another month has come around and it's time for another challenge at Sweet Pea Stampers Challenge Blog.  This month the topic is "birds of a feather".  You don't have to use a Sweet Pea Stamps digital or rubber stamp image but we love to see them.

The baby boy card I have coloured the image in with my Promarkers, die-cut and gone around the edge with a blue chalk ink pad.

The backing papers I have chosen to use for this card are Bearly Mine Designs Floral Breeze and Bearly Mine Designs Mini Dots.  I have added a circular doily which I have used the same blue chalk ink pad around the edges.  The card has been finished off with some lace, paper flowers with brad centres, gems and sentiment off the computer.

One Sweet Challenge - May 2013

There is another challenge over at the One Sweet Challenge and the topic for May is to "create a card using spring colours".  It's a good few years since I fell in love with Sweet Pea Stamps.  When I first started using them they were only available in rubber but a great deal of images are now available in digital format which is brilliant for people like me living in the UK and am too inpatient to wait for the post to come.  I am really lucky to be on the Sweet Pea Stampers Design Team as I love to use these images.

For my card I have used the Sweet pea Stamps digital image by Karen Middleton called "Magenta Rose".  I have coloured the image in with Promarkers and coloured the roses with pink Sakura Stardust pen.  It's lovely and sparkly but a nightmare for the camera flash!!!

The backing papers I have used are Bearly Mine Designs Petunia Parade and Bearly Mine Designs The Boys Zone.  I have inked around a doily with a See D's fern effect stamp and a Versamagic ink pad.  I have finished the card off with some raffia ribbon, foam die-cut flowers and butterfly which I have added Papermania Glitterations to, satin ribbon, pearls and Craftwork Cards die-cut sentiment.

Delicious Doodles Challenge - Friday 3 May 2013 - Something for the Guys

It's Friday again and time for another challenge over at the Delicious Doodles Challenge Blog.

First though a bit of news.  We are welcoming another crafter to the Delicious Doodles Design Team.  Sarah-Louise aka Tiggertastic has joined the team and will be working with Team A so you'll see her first creation for the Design Team then.  In the meantime please pop on over and wish her a big welcome.

The challenge this week is "something for the guys".  Yes, that might make a lot of you "run to the hills" but we are always in need of cards for boys/men.  Teri has some wonderful images suitable in her shop.
For my card I have used the Delicious Doodles image called "Vintage Truck".  I printed this image off, tore around the edges and inked with a Brilliance ink pad that has a slight tinge of sparkle to it.  The backing papers I printed off about a year ago and are from Summertime Designs.  For the piece directly under the image I used my metal effect stencil and used a black Pan Pastel through.  I have finished the card off with some X-cut die cogs which I have cut from white card and distressed with my black Pan Pastel, ribbon, card candi and Craftwork Cards sentiment.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Kenny K's Krafty Krew Challenge - Sunday 28 April 2013

Well this week-end I got into my craft room for the first time in two weeks.  What with me going to theatre for my steroid injections and then two days later my eldest son being admitted for five days with a partially collapsed lung and needing a chest drain crafting had to take a back seat.  Then we made our son come and stay with us for four nights before he went home so he stayed in the spare room/craft room so I couldn't get in there then either.
The Kenny K's Krafty Krew Challenge this week is "Tic-tac-toe" whereby you have to pick a line horizonally, vertically or diagonally and use all the elements in that row/column on your card/creation.
This is a card I've made with the Kenny K image called "Super Mom" which I have coloured in with Promarkers and then fussy cut around.

For my card I have used papers from the Bearly Mine Designs Gingham and Floral Breeze digital sets.  I love the collage effect of the Summer Breeze paper.  I have finished my card off with some dainty flowers which I got in a craft shop in Eastbourne last month, glitter swirls, gem tear drops, purple peel-off borders, Stickles glitter glue on the centre of the flowers, sentiment off the computer and a ribbon bow.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

I decided to make a new baby boy card and I have used a LOTV die-cut image which I've had for some time now.  Isn't he a cutie?
For my card I have used one of Bearly Mine Designs newest digi sets called Vintage Fantasy.  I love the colours and effects in this one.  I have used two different blue papers and inked the edges with a chalk ink pad.  I have used some scraps of the backing paper and a flower punch to make the smaller layer of the flowers.  The card has been finished off with some lace, "It's a Boy" ribbon, flowers with brad centres, sentiment off the computer and some metal charm baby feet.

For my card I have used the Bugaboo digital image called "Ava school sign 2" and have coloured the image in with my Promarkers and I have distressed around the edges of my image with my Tim Holtz distressing tool and highlighted this with a yellow chalk ink pad.

The backing papers I have used are Bearly Mine Designs Mini Dots and Bearly Mine Designs Gingham.  I have finished the card off with a sentiment off the computer, card candi, Prima flower, ruler ribbon (I've had this for nearly two years and thought it so appropriate to use for this card that I cut two pieces off it - I need therapy now!!!) and a pencil charm held on with a brad.
