Dandelion Field - Two cards

Oh I wish I could get rid of this "bug" I've had since before Christmas.  It certainly doesn't want to go.  I am all right if I don't breathe or swallow!!  Putting my head forward to colour certainly hurt and was difficult so it's taken me some days to finish colouring these images.

For those that know me I don't do bugs, spiders etc.  I don't even like to colour images with them on but will if I have to.  These two cards have been made out of choice which is amazing for me considering there is a whopper of a snail on them!!  Fight your fears eh?  When I colour in my images for Design Team cards or just any card I make I always tend to print off two images at the same time so if something goes wrong I have another image to fall back on.  In this case everything went OK so I now have two cards.

Again I've asked my son to take the photos for me.
For both of my cards I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik digital stamp called "Dandelion Field".
I have coloured the image in with my Graph'it pens.  The background I have used some sparkly chalks by Pebbles Inc.

For the background I used a "Dandelion Wishes" embossing folder and used it twice to fit over the 8x8 card.  I then used a yellow and green sparkly chalk to highlight the stems and the heads of the dandelions.

I then stamped a piece of card with a Sheena Douglas' texture stamp and Tim Holtz's Mustard Seed and Shabby Shutters distress ink.

I have finished this card off with some new organza ribbon and for a change tied little knots in it for some texture, a die-cut sentiment and some pearls.
As you can see the second card is very similar but using different tones of greens on this card and done the background with a darker blue sparkly chalk.  I have done the same embossing and highlighting with sparkly chalks.
I have finished this card off with a sentiment from a Polkadoodles CD, 15mm antique gold satin ribbon and some gorgeous white cotton lace border.

As you can see I kept the cards very minimalist to let the image and the embossing "do the talking".  It's nice to make cards with lots of bits-and-pieces on them but people just can't afford to buy and then post cards like that so more minimalist ones are needed.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Chalk-Ah-Lot-Cafe - Anything goes with chalk (I have used my sparkly Pebbles Inc chalks for these cards)
One Sweet Challenge - Art inspiration day (when we moved to a house which had the word "Constable" in it and the area had roads named after favourite painters I had to have a look.  A lot are darker image but this one stood out for me and I always remember it as it is mainly yellow, brown and green - it's called "Landscape Ploughing Scene in Suffolk" - oh I wish I could paint like that!!)

They're BOTH gorgeous - but yes, that really is one scary looking snail! LOL! I actually love your cards - image and all. The addition of the lace on the second one is so pretty and your coloring is outstanding! Two beauties!
