Christmas Cards

Here are two Christmas cards I have made.
Here is an image that I had coloured before my surgery but never made into a card.  The image is called "Winterberry" and is drawn by Ching-Chou Kuik and can be found as a rubber stamp and as a digital stamp at Sweet Pea Stamps.

I coloured this image in with my Graph'it pens and inked around the edge with Tim Holtz's Chipped Sapphire distress ink.

For the background of this card I used a snowflake embossing folder and then coloured over the outside of the card with Pan Pastels (Turquoise and Phthalo Blue) and I also coloured a snowflake die-cut with the same colours.

I have finished this card off with some grosgrain ribbon, lace (this stunning lace is available at Buckwell Craft Supplies - a newly opened craft store on-line - be warned though one metre won't be enough as it's gorgeous!!), Craftwork Cards die-cut sentiment some Stickles glitter glue.
At the week-end, as I was still struggling to get pen lids off, I had a go at watercolouring using my watercolour pencils.  I used to do this a lot but I struggled with my hands and haven't done it for a long time.  I used some Crafter's Companion 300gsm watercolour card and this stunning image from Ching-Chou Kuik's Etsy Store.  The images is called "Gentleness".  It's an image that could be used all year round.  Although I used the not so bobbly side of the watercolour card I struggled with it to get a smooth coverage.  When I used rubber stamps I used a completely smooth watercolour card but it was 350gsm and therefore too thick to go through my printer.  I need to keep a look-out for some 200-250gsm smooth watercolour paper that will go through my printer so I can try again.

For the background of this card I used a snowflake embossing folder and then coloured over the outside of the card with Pan Pastels (Turquoise and Phthalo Blue) and I also coloured a snowflake die-cut with the same colours.

I have finished this card off with some twine, Craftwork Cards die-cut sentiment, Flowersoft Polar White and some Stickles glitter glue.
