Sun, Sea and Sand - Get Well Soon

This is the card I made for my uncle as he was due to have an operation on his back on 18 December 2013.  Ironically that was the same day as my shoulder operation.  Sadly I got my operation but his was cancelled.  His operation is due today - so fingers crossed it goes ahead this time.  Ironically it's the same day as I am due back to work after my operation.

For my card I have used backing papers, design sheets and decoupage from a Debbi Moore magazine I got a while ago.  I've now bought the Shabby Chic Seaside CD so I shall images of the seaside to use over and over again.  I have finished the card off with a sentiment off the computer, shells cut from a backing paper and some tiny little buttons.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Word Art Wednesday - Anything goes
Creative Fingers - Anything goes
Sister Act Card Challenge - Anything goes

Sunday is here again and it is time for me to show you some Sweet Pea Stamps creations.  It is "Artist of the Week" over at Sweet Pea Stamps.  This is where one of the artists is chosen and the Design Team get an image they want from this artist to create a card/other creation.  The "Artist of the Week" is Charmaine Flannery.
For my card I have decided to use the imaged called "Alice" by Charmaine Flannery.  It is available as a digital stamp.  I thought she had a sorrowful look on her face so I though she'd be suitable for a "thinking of you" card.  I have coloured my image in with Graph'it pens.  The backing papers are from my Perfect Companions Essential CD.  I have mounted the image on a Marianne Designs die-cut shape.  The card has been finished off with a stamped sentiment, flowers punched out of scraps leftover from the card, raffia ribbon and pearls.

Jake Skates

Here is a boy card that I have made using my "Jake Skates" Stamp set from Visible Image.  It's amazing value at £11.99 as you get the main image of Jake skating and various other stamps including 3 stars, a large star, mesh/distressed stamp, sentiment saying "awesome dude!" and a skateboard.

I have coloured my image in with my Promarkers.  They are feeling slightly unloved at the moment since I got some Graph'it pens so thought they could come out to play.  The backing papers are from a Wellington paper pack that I got in a sale.  I have stamped the star stamp over the edge of the striped backing paper, stamped the mesh/distressed stamp around the image and then used the star stamp on some chipboard corners that I coloured with the same blue Promarkers and then added Versamark and added two layers or embossing powder for some shine.  I have kept the embellishments to a minimum on the card and just added the ribbon, sentiment off the stamp sheet, Craftwork Cards die-cut sentiment and the decorated corners.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Sweet Stampin - Your favourite style (I love to colour and then use stamps/distressing ink to add depth/distressing around the image or the backing papers)
Kaboodle Doodle - Use blue
Creative Creations - Less is More
Crafty Sentiments - Birthdays
