Clean and Simple (CAS) Card

I was asked to make a clean and simple (CAS) card.  No flowers/sparkly items/embellishments but it had to be purple.  Yikes!!!

For my card I have used a Sweet Pea Stamps image by Ching-Chou Kuik called "Spring Night".  She is available as a single rubber stamp and as part of a multi-image plate (Sheet 18, Plate 53 - Spring Night comes on the multi-image plate with Spring Witch, Pick a Pumpkin and Autumn Falls).

I have coloured the image in with my new Graph'It pens.  I haven't got many at the moment but as my other pens run out I shall go and by these.  My dodgy hands prefer the shape of these pens and now there is the additional brushes to buy for them that replace the chisel end they are perfect.  I do try and use the chisel end after seeing Nikky Hall do it for larger areas but I am not that good at it so I am pleased that the brush end replaces the chisel end.  For the sky/water I used various colours in my Pan Pastels.  I used my fine applicator/sponge to make swishy drag marks in the water to look like waves with a slightly darker blue Pan Pastel.

Colours used for Graph'It's are:

Skin - 4155, 4150 and 4115
Mermaid/Grass/Flowers - 6130, 6140, 8220, 8250, 8280 and 2120

I have used some of my card I bought in Jo Channon's shop a couple of months ago - well you have to look at nice card for a while before using don't you?  I love it as it's purple and it's gingham one side and a light purple the other - gorgeous.  I matched it up with a piece of paper from my pile of 6x6 papers.  I have inked around the edge with a fern See D's stamp and Imperial Purple Versafine all the backing papers to add some texture without using embellishments. I then simply finished the card off with a Craftwork Cards die-cut sentiment, a crochet flower for a friend and then a sparkly centre that was left over from some bought flowers I was given.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

The Crafter's Circle - Favourite craft item (my colouring pens)
Inspire me Friday - Anything goes
