First Card Made in 2011

Well, I hope you all had a Happy New Year and I wish all my blogging friends all the very best for 2011.  I have now made by first card for 2011.

This thank you card has been made with a birthday present I got last year of a Hot off the Press book with male cards to make.  As per usual I can't stick to following instructions so I have just used the papers as backing papers for an image that I watercoloured.  I used one of my favourite stamps from Elusive Stamps of this gorgeous lighthouse scene.  I have used my Lyra Watercolours, highlighted areas with some glitter to replicate the shine on the water and then distressed the edges.  I have die-cut and stamped a Thank You sentiment, added tags from the Hot of the Press book, pricked some holes in some vellum, then used a metallic pen for faux stitching and then used some new ribbon that is blue/green that I got from Ribbon Oasis recently.  The card is finished off with an insert from Joanna Sheen's Thomas Kincade CD.

This card fits the following challenges:

Incy Wincy - Distressing
Papertake Weekly - Be thankful
My Time to Craft - Brand spanking new - new ribbon, card and vellum I got for Christmas
City Crafter - Stamp it out
Top Tip Tuesday - Get embellishing
CRAFT - Thank you
Creative Inspirations - Something new - new ribbon, card and vellum I got for Christmas
Crafty Emma - Anything goes
Stamp n Doodle - New - new ribbon, card and vellum I got for Christmas
Stamp Something - Lots of glitter - I've used glitter on the sea, boats and on both tags
Drunken Stampers - Something new on card -  new ribbon, card and vellum I got for Christmas
Allsorts - Thank you
Quirky Crafts - New beginnings - new ribbon, card and vellum I got for Christmas
Lots to do - New beginnings - new ribbon, card and vellum I got for Christmas
Our Creative Corner - Thank you and blue and cream, vellum and metal (metallic pens have been used for the faux stitching - hope that's OK)

Craft Your Days Away - Punch it out
