Happy Birthday Son

Today is a special day as it is our youngest son's 23rd birthday.

When children become adults it can become hard to make cards for them.  I saw this digital kit from CraftsUPrint by Gillian Hutchinson called "You Old Dog" and thought this would be perfect.

In this set wonderful set you will get 7"x7" dog themed toppers, decoupage, a blank insert, text insert and lots of sentiments.

I have used a stone backing paper from my stash and some papers from Summertime Designs.  On the striped backing paper I stamped with a paw print clear stamp.

As the card did not need to be posted I printed off the main sheet three times so I managed to get 7 layers in all for the grumpy looking bulldog.

The card has been finished off with Glossy Accents put on the screw heads, stamped sentiment, "go fetch" sentiment stamp and then I die-cut the number "2" and "3" six times and glued it on top of each other to get some dimension.

Ching-Chou Kuik's Digital Stamps Inspiration Post - Friday 20 September 2019

  Here is my weekly inspiration post for the Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Monthly Challenge Blog.

Before I do I'd like to remind you that our challenge this month is "FALL/FALL COLOURS EG BROWN, ORANGE, RED AND GREEN".

The Design Team this week were challenged to "THINK PINK FOR BREAST CANCER".  

Here is my inspiration post with that theme.

 For my card I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik image called "Flora and Fauna - Rose" (which comes in a set along with seven other images) and coloured the image in with Promarkers and used chalks for the background.

The backing papers are from The Works.

I have finished the card off with a doily, stamped sentiments and card candi.

The Promarkers that I have used are: 

Face/skin - Saffron, Spice and Oatmeal 
Hair - Sandstone, Caramel and Khaki
Flowers/greenery - Dusky Pink, Sunkissed Pink, Coral, Leaf Green and Bright Green
Dress - Coral, Arctic Blue, Sky Blue and True Blue.

Ching-Chou Kuik's Digital Stamps Inspiration Post - Friday 13 September 2019

 Here is my weekly inspiration post for the Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Monthly Challenge Blog.

Before I do I'd like to remind you that our challenge this month is "FALL/FALL COLOURS EG BROWN, ORANGE, RED AND GREEN".

This week the Design Team were challenged to "BUTTERFLIES/INSECTS".

Here is my inspiration post with that theme.

I decided to go with the theme Autumn (which is our actual monthly blog challenge topic) as it sees the wildlife/greenery changing ready for the winter coming.  For my card I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik image called "Ladybug" (this image comes in a set along with "Seahorse" and "Dragonflies").  I have coloured the image in with Promarkers and I have inked around the edge with Tim Holtz's Rusty Hinge distress ink.

The backing papers I have used from my stash.

I have finished the card off with a die-cut butterfly doily, butterfly border die-cut, ribbon, sentiment and die-cut ladybugs and butterflies which were die-cut and a chalk ink pad run over the embossing.

The Promarkers that I have used are: 

Ladybug - Red, Berry Red, Crimson, Buttercup, Lemon and Yellow

Flowers/greenery - Pumpkin, Spice, Burnt Orange, Berry Red, Leaf Green, Bright Green and Forest Green.

Go Fetch!!

For this 17th birthday card I have used a digital kit from CraftsUPrint by Gillian Hutchinson called "You Old Dog".

In this set wonderful set you will get 7"x7" dog themed toppers, decoupage, a blank insert, text insert and lots of sentiments.

As the card needs to be posted I have kept the decoupage to 1mm foam pads.  The bulldog might have the grumps but he's nice with it. 

I used a paw print stamp to make my own backing paper. 

The card has been finished off with Glossy Accents put on the screw heads, LOTV digital sentiment, "go fetch" sentiment stamp and then I die-cut the number "1" and "7" six times and glued it on top of each other to get some dimension.

Colour Crazy Challenge Blog - Friday 6 September 2019

 Good morning.  It is time for another challenge over at the Colour Crazy Challenge Blog.

The topic this week is "anything goes".

PLEASE NOTE:  We are a colouring challenge and therefore to take part in the challenge you MUST have coloured something on your card/creation and you MUST specify the colouring medium you have used.

For my Christmas card I have used the image "Xmas Jack Russell".  I have coloured the image in with Promarkers and used chalks for the background and added Stickles glitter glue to the dog's hat.

The backing papers are from Hobbycraft.

I have finished the card off with some gold card put through an embossing folder, stamped sentiment, twine and a Hobbycraft poinsettia.

The Promarkers that I have used are:

Ching-Chou Kuik's Digital Stamps Inspiration Post - Friday 6 September 2019

For my birthday card I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik image called "Black Haired Lady" (this image comes in a set with a black-and-white image and a grayscale image).

I have coloured the image in with Promarkers and inked around the edge with Tim Holtz's Peeled Paint distress ink.

The backing papers are from scraps stash and some even have shapes gutted out of the middle so that is why this is a jaunty angle card!!!  On the dark green backing paper under the image I have used a greenery stamp and stamped using a Hunkydory grey Prism ink.

I have finished the card off with a sentiment, white lace and some flowers and fabric ribbons from my stash.

The Promarkers that I have used are: 

Face/skin - Saffron, Spice and Oatmeal 

Hair - Cinnamon, Caramel and Cocoa.

Ladies clothes - Amber, Orange, Bright Orange, Yellow

Frame - Tan, Putty and Cocoa

Happy Birthday from a Crazy Cat!!

Here is a birthday card I have made using my Card Creations Crazy Cats CD (which sadly I do not think is still available).  

This cat I think seems to like having its bubble bath.  From the CD I have used a topper sheet, paw backing paper, insert and also a matching envelope.  I printed an extra sheet off of the toppers so that I could do some extra decoupage seeing as the card was not being posted.

I have finished the card off with some fluffy ribbon, LOTV digital sentiment and a cat charm.

Just hope the recipient likes it!!

As You Like It - Favourite way to add a text and why (I always used to print my sentiments on the computer or I used to buy die-cut sentiments as I would NEVER dare stamp a sentiment on a finished card.  That all changed when I got a stamping platform and will even stamp at the very end of my card.  That still I still the crispness of a die-cut sentiment especially when it has foiling on it like this one!!)
