Happy Birthday

Here is a birthday card I have made using a Conie Fong image.  Her images used to be sold at Sweet Pea Stamps and that is where I first grew to love her images.  Sadly Sweet Pea Stamps closed but Conie is shortly going to be opening her own Etsy Store so her images will be for sale again very shortly.

For my card I used this little girl image and coloured in with my Spectrum Noir pens and chalked the background.

The backing papers are from my First Edition Love Letters paper pad.

I have finished the card off with a doily, lace, die-cut flowers, stamped sentiment, ribbon, button and some pearls.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Aud Sentiments - Anything goes
Creative Fingers - Anything goes
Graph'it - Lace and pearls

Thinking of You Cards

Sadly there are times when we all need Thinking of You/With Sympathy cards.  For my cards I have used for the last few years some images by Rebecca Sinz that were available at Sweet Pea Stamps.  Unfortunately Sweet Pea Stamps has closed but I have found that the images are still available to purchase from ElvenstarArt Tube Shop.
For the first card I have used the image called "Despair"
For the second image I have used the image called "Hope".

Both images have been coloured with my Spectrum Noir pens.

Personally I don't find it respectful going for lots of embellishments on sympathy/thinking of you cards so both cards have been finished off with some lace, pearls and some ribbon.

I am entering these cards into the following challenges:

Creative Inspirations - Anything goes and option of a sketch
Crafting for all Seasons - Ribbons and pearls
Crafty Addicts - Anything goes/elegance
Word Art Wednesday - Anything goes
Inspiration Destination - Anything goes

Jade's Sparkling Butterflies Challenge Blog - 21 January 2016 - Add a tag to your card/project

It is time for another challenge over at the Jade's Sparkling Butterflies Challenge Blog.  This fortnight the topic is "to use a tag on your card/project".
This month we are lucky to be sponsored by "The Stamping Boutique".
One thing I said I was going to do more in 2016 is to do more mixed media creations.  I have done quite a lot but there are more things I would like to try.

For my project I have used The Stamping Boutique imaged called "Guitar Digital Stamp".  I have coloured the image in with Promarkers, chalked the background, added my gold Graph'it sparkle pen to the centre of the flowers and distressed around the edge with Tim Holtz's Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade distress inks.

I have used a piece of corrugated card and painted over with white gesso.  Once that was dry I swiped all around the edge of the card with alternating swipes of Tim Holtz's Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade distress inks.

The backing papers I have used are from Summertime Designs.

One item for this project that took a while to make was my Susan Tierney sunflower.  I watched the U-tube video and got some further ideas how to do the layers.  I didn't have an orange Pan Pastel so I used the gold Pan Pastel and then on top a normal orange chalk for the centre of the sunflower petals.  The middle of the sunflower was hard with all those tiny pieces needing gluing and sticking in place - definitely a labour of love.  I've finished the flower off with some of the die-cut leaves and added dark brown chalk to the centre of the sunflower.

I have finished this project off with two tags from a "Love Letters" paper pad, ribbon, Craftwork Cards die-cut sentiment and some buttons.

I am entering this project into the following challenges:

Crafting with Friends - Anything goes
Eureka Stamps - Pile it on
Love to Scrap - Anything goes
Crafty Boots - Ribbon or lace (I have used ribbon)
Craft Your Passion - Always anything goes
Artistic Inspirations - Anything goes/twist of thank you
Love to Create - Anything goes

Simply Papercraft - Anything goes
CCC Digi Creations - Use die-cuts (lots and lots and lots of die-cut pieces to make the sunflower!!!
My Time to Craft - Tag it!
613 Avenue Create - Anything goes with optional twist of create a stylish and elegant card
Lil Patch of Crafty Friends - Anything goes
Crafting from the Heart - Always anything goes
Passion for Promarkers - Flower power
Through the Craft Room Door - Anything goes
Fab n Funky - Buttons or bows or both (I have used buttons)
Creative Moments - Anything goes with the optional twist of "let it snow"
