Just over a week ago I went on a Craft Crop organised by Tracy Payne and Amy Gould. I have followed Tracy's work for a long time now and met her once at Stamperama at Stevenage. Amy I worked with on a Design Team. It was lovely to see Tracy again and meet Amy for the first time.
This was Tracy's first Craft Crop. I don't go to many craft events due to my health. I have only been on a one day course and it was so bad I would never go back even if the company was still in business now. I knew though I didn't have to worry with regard to Tracy and Amy and I was proved right.
If you pop on over to Tracy's Blog you will see what the card should have looked like. As you can see mine differs slightly. I am OK following step-by-step instructions if I have a picture to follow each step of the way. If I follow just written instructions I seem to go a wee bit wrong!!
During the morning of the Craft Crop we got some tips on how to colour with distress inks. I have used them before but because I have focusing and tracking problems with my eyes and dodgy hands I tend to stick mainly with my alcohol markers. I struggled a bit. I think I need to invest in a new paintbrush. I am going to go into the image again and change the hair colour of the fairy. I've got a lot more to learn. I have used dark brown for shading before but never used black but had a go.
All the papers and embellishments were provided for the card. We spent time in the after using various Joy dies to add as embellishments for the card. If you didn't know Tracy is the Noor! Design UK distributor. She brought with her lots of the Joy dies and lots of Dutch Doobadoo products. I love their stencils and have fallen in love with their structure paste. Amy brought a lot of goodies from her shop for us to purchase so I have got some presents from Amy's shop for Christmas off one son and some items I wanted off Tracy she didn't have on the day, so she placed an order and they have arrived today. These are off my other son so they will not be used before Christmas - I promise!!
I know it is a big decision for some people attending a Craft Crop. I was worried about my health but I was able to go at my own pace. It did mean I had to spend a lot of time at home finishing off the card but it was well worth it. It's a card I will be keeping for myself for a change.
Tracy is hoping to undertake more Crops in 2015 so fingers crossed I can attend. She's hoping to do alcohol markers and maybe more on distress inks. I thoroughly enjoyed the day. I know it was a lot of effort put in my Tracy and Amy and I appreciate that. I make all my cards solely to sell to raise funds for different charities so it was nice to see the dies up close as sometimes when you see them on a blog or in a web shop they look bigger than they are. I can't afford bad buys so I do try and source out things first before buying so this was a perfect opportunity.
Here's hoping for more Craft Crops that I can attend in 2015.
Pop on over to Tracy's Blog to see her card.
I had initially said that I wasn't posting this card into challenges as I'd been given the idea/all items for it from my Craft Crop but Tracy has said to go ahead and enter challenges with this card so I will do as I am told. It might also help to promote her Craft Crops. Tracy held her Crop in Bedfordshire. Pop on over to her blog and let her know if you are interested for future Crops.

Kym, you made a beautiful card. It looks very laborious. I can imagine that you were worried about your health during the workshop. But luckily you could rotate at your own pace. I am glad that you enjoyed it. I hope you often do this kind of workshops. You can do this. This is clear. Big kiss, your friend from the Netherlands xxx Sylvia
