Happy Easter

Firstly, just to update you.  

I did have my surgery on Monday.  Ten hours spent at the hospital, two of which just waiting for strong antibiotics to take home.  Thankfully it was third time lucky and I did have the procedure done this time under general anaesthetic and it was a lot better for me.

I still can barely open my mouth, can't sit upright for too long, barely want to eat anything (my husband is on strict orders tomorrow to go and get some straws as my mouth doesn't even want to open as far as taking in a teaspoon of soup!!), don't want to talk, my face is swollen and am in a lot of pain and discomfort.  I know it will settle down.  I'm not back to work until next Wednesday so that will give me time to get over the surgery.

I've then got to have a soft diet for 6 weeks and a check-up in 6 weeks or so at the hospital.  Fingers crossed the surgery is a success and the severe pain and discomfort I've had for 8 months is gone soon.

Here is an Easter card I made before I had my surgery but didn't have time to do my blog post.  I have used a Delicious Doodles image called "Away with the Bunnies".  I have coloured the image in with my Graph'it pens, highlighted the fairies wings and all the flowers with my clear Wink of Stella glitter pen, added the sky with a blue Pan Pastel and inked around the edge with Tim Holtz's Peeled Paint distress ink.

The backing paper I have used is from a new release from Bearly Mine Designs called "Mixed Media".  This one I picked is mainly green but has some splashes of blue, gold, brown etc.  It's amazing to think you've got all that texture and effect and the paper is totally flat.  I used my Tim Holtz distressing tool around the edge and inked with Tim Holtz's Peeled Paint distress ink.

I have finished the card off with a Cherry Lynn die-cut border, some Joanna Sheen ivy die-cuts from a friend, buttons, bows and a sentiment off the computer.
