Card for my Mum

My mum is poorly with shingles at the moment so I thought I'd make this card to cheer her up. I have used backing papers from Joanna Sheen's Cottage Garden CD (in the backing papers section). I printed it straight onto the card I used for the front/back of the card and also the insert. I started cursing when it came out as it looked so wet but reluctantly left it on the floor to dry. After 30 minutes I picked it up and could see it still looked wet but poked a finger on the edge to check. After further looking it is a highly sparkly pearlescent card that a friend bought for me recently and it's so sparkly and gorgeous!! The stamp is a Joanna Sheen Forget-me-Knot stamp which I have coloured in with Lyra watercolours and added sparkle around the image with a 700 Sakura stardust pen. It's finished off with a sentiment from the computer and some organza ribbon.

The card fits the criteria for five challenges:

By the Cute and Girly Challenge Blog- this is a new challenge blog starting this week so please go and have a look. The topic is autumn

  21. Hi Kym

I am a bit slow in commenting as I have been away for two weeks and only just returned.

This card you have made for your Mum is lovely.

I think the background work on your card is very impressive and it will have inspired lots of people to start printing directly onto their base card. Your colour choices are gorgeous.

Thank you for taking part in the very first "By the Cute & Girly" challenge. I hope you play along again next month (or later this month if you get the urge!).

    Love Jules xx
