Happy Birthday

Here is a birthday card I have made using The Paper Shelter image called "Have Fun in the Sun".

When you purchase images from The Paper Shelter you normally get a black-and-white image to colour yourself, a pre-coloured image and a pre-coloured background.

I have printed the pre-coloured background out twice so could decoupage the image, I have added Glossy Accents to her sunglasses and some sparkly glitter glue on her ice lolly.

The backing papers are from Summertime Designs (sadly no longer available).

I have finished the card off with various die-cut shells (only noticing that one of my Marianne Designs seashells looks like it has gone in the bin sometimes.  I was so annoyed about it as I always use these dies when I make any seaside related card - which is quite often!!).

Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Inspiration Post - Monday 17 April 2023

Again this week I have decided to do a journal page.

Ching-Chou Kuik designs amazing images but not all, for me, are suitable for whoever I need to send to but I still would like to colour the images in.  Therefore, I have decided to use images I would not normally use and put them into my journal so I can delight by re-looking at them over time.

For this journal page I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik image called "Red Panda".  

For the backdrop of the image I have sprayed various distress stains onto the page.  I didn't leave a clear page in between so it has made some marks on the butterfly journal page recently so I have decided if I use Pan Pastels or chalks I can use directly onto the page but if I want to use sprays/inks I will do the work on a piece of watercolour card and then stick into my journal.  Lesson learnt.

I have finished the background off with a text stamp and also a long grass stamp for some added depth, various die-cut shapes and banners and a sentiment from my stash.

For my card I have gone with the colour scheme black, bright pink and yellow.

I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik image called "Sakura in March".  In this set you get two images, one black-and-white and one greyscale.  As the recipient is not into fantasy I have just cut off the wings from the fairy when fussy cutting the image.

The card is made from a new Spellbinders die set.  The backing paper used for the decorative frame is from a The Works paper pad.

I have finished the card off with a Spellbinders bow and some sentiments left over from another project.

This week I decided to make a page for my new journal.

I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik image called "Green Frog Elf".

I have coloured the image in with Promarkers and used pearlescent chalks for the background.

I have used Tim Holtz's Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed, Festive Berries and Fired Brick distress ink to make a bright and cheery background.  I have then used various stamps to add some depth to the page.

I have finished the card off with a die-cut flower with brad centre, some corrugated cardboard arrows coloured with a green Promarker and the sentiment "create moments".
