Happy Pearl Wedding Anniversary to my Wonderful Husband Paul

Well where were you 30 years ago today?

This is my husband and I on our wedding day.  It was a lovely day with family and friends but I seriously missed my dad being alive for my special day.

This is us a few years ago:

Obviously a pearl anniversary meant I had to make an extra special card for my husband.

For my card I have used a CraftsUPrint kit by AS Snezana Cards called "Wedding Anniversary Champagne Mini Kit".  I have made an 8x8 easel card.  The backing papers are from Summertime Designs (sadly no longer available).

I have used extracts from the kit and behind the decoupage I have used strung pearls, lace and some large pearls.

This is a close-up of the bottom of the card and the flowers in the corner have been decoupaged high to make sure that they are the stopper for the easel card.

I hope my husband likes his card.  It took me quite a while to make but I am pleased with how it turned out.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Wishing You a Happy Birthday

Today is my husband's birthday and he needed a special card to be made for the occasion.  I recently bought a Debbi Moore CD called "Cards for Men - Timeless Collection" as I knew images would be perfect to use.  The hardest bit was trying to choose which theme to use.  In the end I went with the vintage style racing car as hubby and I love to watch the Formula 1 - especially this week-end as it is Silverstone.  Fingers crossed it is a better race for Lewis Hamilton.

The trouble with the CD was that I couldn't decide on an image so I used a topper sheet, backing papers and a design sheet and also added an insert.  On the backing paper I stamped tyre marks over them so it looks like to car has been racing and making marks on my paper!!

This is a picture of the front and back completed with just items from the CD.  Yes I wouldn't want to send a card like this as it is so heavy but my husband deserves something nice as he works full-time and also has to do the majority of stuff in the house due to my health.  He's a star!!

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Love to Scrap - Anything goes
Love to Craft - Anything goes

Ching-Chou Kuik's Digital Stamps Inspiration Post - Monday 12 July 2021

Today is the day for me to show you another creation for the Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Facebook Group.

Our challenge this month is:

"EMBOSSING - WET or DRY or BOTH".

This week the Design Team were challenged to "Monochrome".

Here is my inspiration post with that theme.

Crumbs I really struggled with this one, not sure why, as I normally love doing monochrome cards.  Whether I picked the wrong colour to use or the wrong image but I got there in the end.

I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik image called "Sunshine".

I have coloured my image in with Promarkers and highlighted the centre of the flowers with a light purple glitter glue.  I inked around the edge with Tim Holtz's Milled Lavender distress ink and used two different Versa Magic chalk ink pads and some dotty stamps to add some texture to the background.

The backing papers I have used are from The Works.

I have finished the card off with two Tonic doily die-cuts which I added Nuvo pearl drops to the largest of the circles in the doily patterned edge, fussy cut flowers from the same papers from The Works and a LOTV digital sentiment.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

CD Sunday Plus - Anything goes digital (digital image and digital sentiment)

Colour Crazy Challenge Blog - Friday 9 July 2021

It is time for another challenge over at the Colour Crazy Challenge Blog.

The weekly topic is always "anything goes".

This week we are lucky to be sponsored by "Angie Blom Digital Designs".

For my birthday card I have used the Angie Blom Digital Designs image called "Miss You Flowers".

I have coloured my image in with Promarkers.  I decided to colour the background with my pearlescent chalks as I seem to be going through so many light blue Promarkers lately colouring in backgrounds alone.

The papers are from a VERY well loved and treasured paper pad by Tim Holtz that my eldest son bought me many years ago.  I've only now got 3.5 pages left so it might take me another 3.5 years to learn to let go of the remaining papers!!  I am sure I am not the only one in this situation.

I have finished the card off quite simply as it is a stunning image with some Dreamees flower stamps stamped on the backing paper and fussy cut around, some grosgrain ribbon, a stamped sentiment and some gems for the centres of flowers.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

CD Sunday Plus - Anything goes digital (digital image)
Lil Patch of Crafty Friends - Anything goes

Ching-Chou Kuik's Digital Stamps Inspiration Post - Monday 5 July 2021

Today is the day for me to show you another creation for the Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Facebook Group.

Our challenge this month is:

"EMBOSSING - WET or DRY or BOTH".

Here is my inspiration post with that theme.
For my card I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik image called "Keep in Faith - Greyscale".

I have coloured my image in with Promarkers and inked around the edge with Tim Holtz's Squeezed Lemonade and Mustard Seed distress inks.

The backing papers are digital downloads from Summertime Designs (sadly no longer available).

The first layer I have put through a large dots Crafter's Companion embossing folder and the frilly layer was using a Darice embossing folder and then I cut around the shape.

I am still going along with trying to use bits-and-pieces I've had for a long time.  Some years ago I won a challenge and I won some die-cut jigsaw pieces by Dutch Doobadoo.  I inked the pieces with the Squeezed Lemonade distress ink.  I put the pieces back into a square shape and I then used a grey Versafine Clair ink pad and stamped a magazine freebie sunflower onto the jigsaw pieces.  Once separated I then used my metallic gold Pan Pastel around the edges.

I have finished the card off quite simply with some rustic twine from Crafter's Companion and a die-cut sentiment.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

CD Sunday Plus - Anything goes digital (digital image and digital papers)
Lil Patch of Crafty Friends - Anything goes

A Perfect Time to Craft Open Challenge Blog - July 2021

Today sees a new challenge over at the A Perfect Time to Craft Open Challenge Blog.

The topic is always "ANYTHING GOES" and you are allowed unlimited entries into the challenge.

This month we are lucky to have two sponsors:

 Bugaboo Stamps

and

Charlie's Stamps.

For my side scene card I have used the Charlie's Stamps image called "Cute Baby Sea Turtle".  I decided to make a large turtle family so I took the image into Craft Artist and resized some of the image and also flipped some to face the other way.

I have coloured the images in with Promarkers.  Yes it took quite a while but well worth it.  I then fussy cut the images out and edged with blue and green chalk ink pads as I hate to see white edges.

The backing paper is from a Joanna Sheen Faye Whittaker CD.  I have used various greenery/dots/crinkle effect stamps all over the backing paper.

I have finished the card off with a stamped sentiment and a die-cut sentiment.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

World Wide Open Design Team Challenge - Anything goes
