Happy 13th Birthday Stevie

Today is my niece's 13th birthday.  Happy birthday Stevie.  I am hoping she likes the card I have made for her.

For my card I have used a Polkadoodles image called "Helga Hippo - Beauty Day".  I have coloured the image in with Promarkers.  I have added my Sakura stardust clear pen to the mirror.

The backing papers are from The Works.

I have finished the card off with some lace, die-cut banners, stamped sentiment, ribbon and the name "Stevie" and numbers "13" die-cut 4 times and stuck together for dimension.

Colour Crazy Challenge Blog - Friday 21 August 2020

 It is time for another challenge over at the Colour Crazy Challenge Blog.

 For my birthday card I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik image called "Little Daisy".  I have coloured the image in with Promarkers and chalked the background.

The backing papers are from The Works.

I won a challenge a while back and received a gorgeous die-set from Studiolight.  It is supposed to make a little book but I have used the die for a card.  I love the torn edge won especially.

I have finished the card off with John Next Door Lattice Flowers, organza ribbon, pleated ribbon, little punched flowers and a die-cut sentiment that I have had for years and years.

 For my birthday card I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik image called "Flora and Fauna - Sunflower" (which comes in a set along with 7 other images).

I have coloured the image in with Promarkers and used pearlescent chalks for the background.

The papers are from The Works, Summertime Designs (sadly no longer available) and the orange/yellow card is a tiny scrap from a Gelli plate piece that I made.

I have finished the card off with some pearl drops, die-cut butterfly border, die-cut sentiment and a sunflower die-cut flower I have made.

Happy Birthday Bro

Here is the card that I made for our youngest son to give to his brother yesterday.

For my card I have used the Creative Crafting World Meercat Madness - One for the boys CD (sadly no longer available).

For my card I have used a decoupage sheet, backing papers and insert.

I have used my John Next Door cornflower die to cut flowers from the scraps of backing paper I had left.

I have finished the card off with some raffia, Lisa Horton tag with a computer generated sentiment and some pearls.

Have a Cool Birthday Son

It is our eldest son's 28th birthday day.  Happy Birthday Kevin.

For his birthday card I have used my Joanna Sheen Furry Friends CD (sadly no longer available) and used the image of this gorgeous dog with his bandana.  I printed out the the topper sheet twice so I could do decoupage.  I have used backing papers, insert and toppers from the CD.  On one of the plain papers I stamped with a paw print stamp, dog bone and also a dotty texture stamp.

I have finished the card off with some wide blue grosgrain ribbon, red and white dotty grosgrain ribbon, stamped sentiment and a gingham bow.

 For my birthday card I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik image called "Scent of Spring".

I have coloured my image in with Promarkers.  I then tore around the edge of the image, inked around with Tim Holtz's tea dye distress ink and then dropped water over in parts and lifted some of the colour away.

I have used papers from Summertime Designs (sadly no longer available) and The Works.

I have finished the card off with some Tim Holtz die-cut leaves from an old book which I coloured in with Honeycomb and Cinnamon Promarkers, Crafter's Companion clear sparkle pen on the wings and some flowers, die-cut sentiment and three small orange flowers.

Happy Birthday

I recently won a challenge and got to pick some images from Cute as a Button.  It was a hard choice as there were so many gorgeous images but in the end this was one of the images I chose.  It is called "Cuddly Busty Buttons - Sitting Pretty".

I have coloured the image in with my Promarkers and used a VersaMagic chalk ink pad around the edge of the image.

I won another challenge and got to pick three digital paper packs from Lozzy and I picked the set called "Watercolour Wings".  I have used four of the papers, two for the backgrounds, one for the plain layers and another patterned paper on the banners (making sure I got the writing up the right way!!).

I have finished the card off with some wide lace, Sizzix die-cut circles, LOTV digital sentiment, three Lisa Horton banners, three green flowers which I inked with Tim Holtz's Broken China distress oxide and some pearls.

A Perfect Time to Craft Open Challenge Blog - August 2020

  Today sees a new challenge over at the A Perfect Time to Craft Open Challenge Blog.

The topic is always "ANYTHING GOES" and you are allowed unlimited entries into the challenge. 

 This month we are very lucky to be sponsored by "CraftsUPrint".

I fell in love with this cute image of a gnome couple so had to use it for our 29th wedding anniversary card.  The CraftsUPrint image is by Gillian Hutchinson called "3 in 1 Gnomebody Loves You Like Me".

For my card I have used the backing image, insert and decoupage topper.

The backing paper is from a vintage pad from The Works.

I have used some old cardboard packaging and some of the backing paper to make the "2" and "9" higher than normal by using two lots of the cardboard and one of the backing paper.  I have then glued together, used a Burnt Sienna around all the edges of the "2" and "9" (in hindsight it would have been easier to colour the edges of the numbers separately rather than altogether to get a full coverage with the brown alcohol ink but that's something to remember for another time!!) and then added some dots with a Crimson Promarker.

I have finished the card off with Glossy Accents on the eyes and hearts, die-cut and embossed hearts, stamped sentiment and card candi.
