Bookmarks and a card in the Debbi Moore Bringing Inspiration to You Magazine

I recently won a challenge over at the Winter Wonderland Challenge Blog and my prize was to pick some images from the Wink Wink Ink Designs Store.  There were lots of gorgeous images but these two dog characters "spoke to me" and I had to have them!!

I decided to make a couple of bookmarks with these images.  The first image I used was called "Teacup Chihuahua".  I have coloured the image in with Caran D'Ache pencils, highlighted areas with a white Posca pen and fussy cut out.

The backdrop for the image is a decorative card from Hunkydory which I have used a stencil and inked through with a pink and blue ink.  I also used my dauber to make pink circles as well.  I have used some wide grosgrain ribbon, raffia ribbon, flower with brad centre and a stamped sentiment to finish off the bookmark.
For my second bookmark I used the image called "Pug".  I have again coloured the image in with Caran D'Ache pencils, highlighted areas with a white Posca pen and fussy cut out.  I do like colouring with pencils but with my dodgy hands it makes them so painful afterwards.

The backdrop for the image is a paper from a paper pad from The Works which again I have used a stencil and inked through with a pink, yellow and blue ink.  I also used my dauber to make blue circles as well.  I have used some wide grosgrain ribbon and two stamped sentiments to finish off the bookmark.
Here is what the cute little chihuahua looks like on my Debbi Moore magazine.
This is what the pug looks like on the magazine.
I was delighted to see that in Issue 50 of the Debbi Moore Bringing Inspiration to You Magazine one of my cards was shown in the readers' creations page (see above).

Good Luck in your New Job Kevin

Today sees our eldest son start a new job.  When he was a child we nearly lost him twice due to his brittle asthma.  Since he's been working he has vowed to "give back" to the NHS for them saving his life twice.  This will be his third job in an NHS Trust.

For my card I have used my Creative Crafting World Meercat Madness For the Boys CD.  I have used a topper sheet, three different backing papers and an insert for the CD.

On one of the backing papers I have used two of my texture stamps to stamp on a checked and a harlequin texture to tie in with the topper.

I have finished the card off quite simply with a computer generated sentiment, seam binding ribbon, organza ribbon, lots of die-cut stars and a button.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Happy 50th Birthday Anne

I had a good friend at school and although she left our home town of Rushden before she finished our comprehensive school we always kept in touch - so much so she was my bridesmaid in July 1991.

Today it is a special day as it is her 50th birthday.  She is going away to New York with her family for her 50th so I knew which CD I would use to make this card and it was Debbi Moore's Glitter and Glitz New York CD 1 and CD2.
The card is A5 and is a concertina card with four sides on each side, if you know what I mean.

For the card I have used backing papers, decoupage, toppers and design sheets from the CD.  I think the card took 10+ hours to make with cutting out the decoupage/toppers etc and then it was planning what would go on each page with trying to work out the decoupage images being spread about so the card didn't turn out too fat.
For the front of the card I used some of my New York stamps.  For the "50 TODAY" I cut these out 8 times for each number/letter and layered them up and inked around the edges.  It was quite a tedious job but it makes them look like MDF.

I have finished the card off quite simply with ribbon, sentiments and Papermania glitterations.

I shall keep my fingers crossed my friend likes her card.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Love to Craft - Anything goes
A Perfect Time to Craft - Anything goes
Classic Design Challenge - Anything goes

Happy Valentine's Day

Here is the Valentine's Day card I have made for my husband for this year.

For my card I have used a topper sheet, insert and backing papers from my Joanna Sheen Furry Friends CD.

The gorgeous black glitter card I got from Hobbycraft recently.  It is is lovely as it is encapsulated glitter and therefore not scratchy to touch which I hate.  It easily cut out various heart die-cuts that I used on this card.

I have finished the card simply with a stamped sentiment, an organza/seam binding ribbon bow and a wooden heart coloured with a black Promarker.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Love to Scrap - Red and/or pink equals love
