Happy 22nd Birthday to our Son Steven

Today is a special day as it is our youngest son's 22nd birthday.

Happy birthday Steven.

Here is the card that I have made for him.  I recently won a challenge and the prize was some images from The Paper Shelter.  It's so hard when you win images from designers as there are so many to pick from.  I quickly came across this one and it is called "Workout Time".

This year our son qualified as a Personal Trainer.  Unfortunately he's not been able to get a job working in a gym but fingers crossed it won't be too long before he fulfils his dream.

For my card I used the composition but I also printed out the image of the trainer 5 times so I could put one inside the card and decoupage the image well on the front of the card - well I didn't have to worry about the postage as he still lives with us!!

On the front of the card I used my Tim Holtz Stamping Platform  to stamp the "happy birthday" with one stamp and "son" with another.   I finished off the front by die-cutting out some stars and then running them through a small dots embossing folder.

Here is the inside of the card.  As I said I used one of the images on the inside and stamped "have a wonderful day".

I do love using stamps/digital images and colouring to make cards but I still love doing decoupage.  This combined using a digital image and printing out multiple times to decoupage.

Colour Crazy Challenge Blog - Friday 21 September 2018

  Good morning.  It is time for another challenge over at the Colour Crazy Challenge Blog.

The topic this week is "anything goes".

PLEASE NOTE:  We are a colouring challenge and therefore to take part in the challenge you MUST have coloured something on your card/creation.

 For my card I have used The Paper Shelter image called "Snowball Fight" and a composition that comes with this image (you also get one inked stamp and one matching paper).  Isn't that amazing value for money?  I have coloured my image with Promarkers and fussy cut around the image.

As I said I used the composition that came with the image.

I have finished the card off with a stamped sentiment, washi tape, die-cut snowflake die-cuts, sequins and little balls of snow (which I cut from a white pom-pom decoration).

The Promarkers that I have used are:

Hair - Cocoa, Cinnamon and Raw Sienna

Ching-Chou Kuik's Digital Stamps Inspiration Post - Friday 21 September 2018

 Here is my weekly inspiration post for the Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Monthly Challenge Blog. 

Before I do I'd like to remind you that our challenge this month is "THE COLOURS OF FALL" eg red, brown and orange.

This week Dianne, Design Team Member challenged us to "RIBBON OR LACE".

Well as I loveeeeeeeeeeeeee ribbon and lace I had to use both on my card!!

Here is my inspiration post with this theme.

 I have decided to try to keep on top of making Christmas cards throughout the year so here is another one.  I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik digital stamp called "Christmas Venice Night".  I have coloured the image in with Promarkers.

The backing papers I have used are from my Polkadoodles Here Comes Christmas CD.

I have finished the card off with some red satin ribbon, green satin ribbon. sentiment from a CD, bow made from some thin lace, die-cut poinsettias with gold Pinflair Wand Pearls.

The Promarkers that I have used are: 

Cat - Ice Grey, Ice Grey 2, Ice Grey 3, Soft Peach, Bright Green, Poppy, Red, Berry Red, Gold and Ice Grey 4

Poinsettias - Poppy, Red, Berry Red and Gold

Colour Crazy Challenge Blog - Friday 14 September 2018

 Good morning.  It is time for another challenge over at the Colour Crazy Challenge Blog.

Ching-Chou Kuik's Digital Stamps Inspiration Post - Friday 14 September 2018

 Here is my weekly inspiration post for the Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Monthly Challenge Blog. 

Before I do I'd like to remind you that our challenge this month is "THE COLOURS OF FALL" eg red, brown and orange.

This week the Design Team were challenged to "PURPLELICIOUS" eg lots and lots of purple.

Here is my inspiration post with this theme.

 For my card I have used one of the newer Ching-Chou Kuik digital stamps in grayscale called "Green Dragonfly" (she comes in a set along with Red Poppy and Merbutterfly Fairy Freedom).  I have coloured the image in with my Promarkers and went for a light/delicate colour scheme to match the pastel backing papers I used from a set from The Works.  I have added some Wink of Stella clear sparkle pen onto the dragonfly wings.  After mounting the image onto matching backing papers I used the purple Stickles around the layers to add a little bit more sparkle.

I have finished the card off with a die-cut banner at the bottom of the image, a piece of extra wide lace (which wasn't quite big enough so I folded in half and cut it and stuck a piece around the back and the front which left a gap which the image filled - I hope you can keep the secret but it is good to use scraps up like this!!), two different die-cut dragonfly dies used and I did two of each and added Ranger Distress Stickles in purple add down their bodies and finally a die-cut sentiment.

I know who this card is for as she likes purple just like me.  Fingers crossed she likes it!!

Dragonflies - Soft Green, Mint Green and Raw Sienna

Birthday Wishes

I needed to make a birthday card for someone who likes cats so I have used an image from a Joanna Sheen Jody Bergsma paper pad (sadly this paper pad does not seem to be on their website anymore).  In this pad you get two of the same images so to make this card a bit more special I have used both of the images on this card so I could do more decoupage.

I have just used different coloured card instead of backing papers, one of which I put through a large dots embossing folder.

I have finished the card off with a Craftwork Cards sentiment, satin ribbon, spotty grosgrain ribbon, organza bow and a large dazzler that was originally pink but I coloured with a black Promarker pen.

Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps September Facebook Challenge - Autumn

 Today is the start of the Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Facebook Group Monthly Challenge.

The topic for the Facebook September is "AUTUMN".

I decided to play along with their challenge this month.

 For my birthday card I have used the partially coloured image called "Owlie" and it comes in a set along with the same image but in black-and-white.

The backing papers are from my stash.

I have used some punches to make the flowers and shaped them with an embossing tool and added Stickles glitter blue to the centre.  I have used two different leaf dies - a single leaf to go with the flowers and a leaf border that came with a magazine.

I have finished the card off with a die-cut sentiment and some burlap I got as a present from a friend.
